APHC lauds Pakistan Army’s firm support for Kashmiris struggle

APHC

ISLAMABAD: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly lauded the recent statement by the Pakistan Army reaffirming its steadfast support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle against New Delhi’s occupation and oppression.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas hailed the Pakistan Army’s position as a significant and powerful endorsement of the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, offering a vital boost to their long-standing quest for justice and freedom.

In a media briefing in Rawalpindi, Pakistan Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry condemned the ongoing human rights violations by Indian forces in IIOJK.

He denounced the systematic killings of innocent Kashmiris in Indian military operations, labeling India’s actions as gross violations of international law. Lt. General Chaudhry further described Kashmir as a “hotbed of violence” due to India’s brutal crackdown.

He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, emphasizing, “Our principal stance is to stand with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and we will continue doing so.”

In response, Minhas expressed deep appreciation for the Pakistan Army’s commitment to providing moral, diplomatic, and legal support to the Kashmiris.

He said, “We are profoundly grateful for Pakistan’s resolute and unflinching support, which has remained steadfast for over seven decades.

This continued solidarity serves as a beacon of hope, strength, and determination for the Kashmiri people in their struggle against India’s illegal occupation.”

Minhas also underscored that India’s actions, especially its illegal and unilateral move of August 5, 2019, have only strengthened the validity of the Two-Nation Theory, highlighting that Kashmir remains an unresolved and unfinished chapter of the subcontinent’s partition.

He emphasized that these actions have deepened the dispute over Kashmir’s rightful status, reaffirming that the region’s future can only be resolved through a just and peaceful solution, in line with international law and the relevant United Nations resolutions.

The APHC reiterated its call for the international community to hold India accountable for its persistent human rights violations in Kashmir and to take a firm stand for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. “The international community must demand that India halt its fascist policies and illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement said.

LEAs conduct over 130 operations on daily basis: DG ISPR

LEAs

ISLAMABAD: Director General, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies were conducting more than 130 operations on daily basis to combat terrorism across the country.

Addressing the press conference, the DG ISPR highlighted the military’s relentless efforts to maintain peace and security amid terror threats, particularly in Balochistan.

The briefing comes after a series of deadly terror attacks in Balochistan on August 26, which claimed the lives of 50 people, including 14 security personnel. In response to these attacks, security operations have been intensified across the region.

He said that security forces had carried out 32,173 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) so far in 2024, with 4,021 conducted in the past month alone.

During these operations, 90 terrorists, referred to as “khawarij,” were neutralized. He reiterated the resolve of the Pakistan Army, police, and intelligence agencies to continue the fight against terrorism, stating “The war against Fitna al-Khawarij and terrorism will continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.”

The DG ISPR also paid tributes to the sacrifices of 193 soldiers who embraced martyrdom in the last eight months, calling them real heroes of the nation. He assured their families that their sacrifices would not be in vain.

Highlighting a recent operation in the Tirah Valley against the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other militant groups, DG ISPR Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that since August 20, 37 terrorists had been killed, including a top commander, Abuzar, also known as Saddam. Four soldiers were martyred during the operation, he added.

“These successful IBOs are a testament to the bravery and commitment of our security forces to eradicate terrorism,” he added.

Referring to the August 26 attacks in Balochistan, reportedly orchestrated by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), the DG ISPR attributed the violence to “internal and external enemies” hell bent upon destabilizing the province’s peaceful environment. He pointed out the military’s swift response, during which 21 terrorists were eliminated.

Acknowledging the challenges in Balochistan, he noted that certain elements exploited some sort of ‘deprivation’ among the local population. He stressed the military’s commitment to development and peace in the province despite these’ adversities.

During the press conference, the DG ISPR also addressed the court martial of former spymaster Faiz Hameed.
