Anurag claims that SRK  film Pathaan sparked a revolution in India

Anurag
  • Anurag Kashyap says Pathaan is stirring a revolution in the country.
  • The filmmaker has been praising the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ever since it was released last week.
  • Anurag said the audience had stormed theatres to watch the film, which was facing boycott calls.

Anurag Kashyap, a director, claims that Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, the quickest Hindi film to break the 300 crore mark in India, is sparking a revolution. Anurag, who has been praising the Shah Rukh Khan-starring movie ever since it opened last week, claimed in a new interview that viewers flocked to theaters to watch it despite demands for its boycott and banning in previous weeks.

Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana, and Dimple Kapadia are also featured in Pathaan. The first week earnings for Pathaan in India have reached 315 crore nett. Pathaan, a film directed by Siddharth Anand, was made available on January 25 in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. Since its debut, Pathaan has been shattering records. The movie previously set a record for fastest Hindi film to reach the 200 crore club in India.

In a recent interview with RJ Stutee on the celebrity talk program Aur Batao for the Hindustan Times, Anurag was questioned whether, other from love, movies might bring about “kranti” (revolution) in the nation “Hamesh hi aati hai filmon. Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan ke liye, aaj kranti ho rahi hai cinema halls mein (Films have also sparked revolution. Thanks to Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, there is a revolution taking place in Indian movie theaters right now.”

Anurag had already praised Pathaan and Shah Rukh’s performance after seeing it on the first day of its release. “Shah Rukh Khan itna haseen, itna sundar pehle kabhi laga nahi,” he had said to reporters. Usko dekhne aaye the aur dil khush ho gaya toh hum toh. Shah Rukh ke liye pehli baar aisa role hai, or itna khatarnak action hai. I’ve never seen Shah Rukh Khan that lovely. Mujhe nahi lagta unhone is tarah ka action pehle kiya hai. We are delighted that we came to see him. Shah Rukh played a role in such a risky action scene for the first time. He hasn’t likely ever taken this kind of action, in my opinion.

Shah Rukh Khan makes his big-screen comeback in a prominent role with Pathaan, more than four years after Zero (2018). In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Anurag had said, “Shah Rukh’s comeback movie has received mixed reviews from audiences “People are returning to theaters and dancing on screen as they do so. Concerning the movie, many are ecstatic. There is bliss, and it is a lovely euphoria. This feeling of joy was absent. This exhilaration also has a sociopolitical component; it is like making a declaration.”

The fastest film ever to surpass the 300 crore mark in India is SRK

SRK
  • SRK-starrer became the fastest Hindi film to cross ₹300 crore mark after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
  • Pathaan’s first week collection at the domestic box office now stands at ₹315 crore nett.
  • Pathaan, which also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia, was released on January 25.

Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, became the second Hindi movie to break the 300 crore milestone most quickly after Baahubali 2: The Conclusion after earning 21 crore crore nett on its seventh day in India. The first week domestic box office earnings for Pathaan currently total 315 crore nett. The January 25 release of Pathaan also features Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana, and Dimple Kapadia.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who tweeted on Wednesday, Pathaan, which has been setting and shattering records since it was released worldwide, entered the 300 crore club in just seven days, breaking the previous record held by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’s Hindi version since 2017, which needed 10 days to do so. In comparison to Aamir Khan’s Dangal (2016), he said that the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 2 (2022) achieved the 300 crore mark in 11 days. It took 16 days for both Sanju (2018) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) to join the 300 crore club. In contrast, it took Aamir’s PK (2014) and Hrithik Roshan’s War (2019), respectively, 17 and 19 days to reach the 300 crore mark.

In addition, according to a Box Office India report, Pathaan’s first week box office haul of 315 crore nett is 65 crore nett higher than KGF: Chapter 2, which had the greatest first week total before Pathaan surpassed it in five days. Pathaan, a Siddharth Anand-directed film, was made available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu the day before Republic Day in 2023. Actor Salman Khan also makes a guest appearance in the action movie produced by Yash Raj Films.

Since its debut, Pathaan has been shattering records. The movie became the fastest Hindi film to join the 200 crore club when it crossed the 200 crore nett threshold in only four days in the past. With its amazing advance bookings, the movie Pathaan broke records even before it was released. On January 20, advance reservations for Pathaan were available.

According to reports, theater owners in various regions of India decided to screen the movie early in the morning due to rising demand. Prior to Pathaan’s opening day, sources stated that the morning showings of the movie had been canceled due to demonstrations outside Indore theaters. After receiving demands for a boycott and demonstrations against the movie’s cast and crew in recent weeks, Pathaan was finally released on January 25.

  • The lead cast conducted their first public event on Monday.
  • The film was released on January 25 and enjoyed a five-day long weekend.
  • On Monday, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh called Pathaan box office.

Along with Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana, and others, it features Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham in the key roles. On Monday, the main cast held their first public event where they discussed the movie’s popularity, its sequel, and other topics.

The movie has now made roughly 296 crore in Hindi, indicating that on Tuesday it will surpass the 300 crore mark. On January 25, the movie was released, and a five-day long weekend followed (though Friday was a non-holiday). In India, the Hindi version’s debut brought in 55 crore rupees

The movie brought in 25 crore net. It alludes to the Hindi version’s opening weekend grossing 350 crore. The picture is expected to break the all-time box office record there in its original version in just seven or eight days, according to the report, which also stated that the outside market held up quite well on Monday.

Shah Rukh Khan said, “We are all extremely grateful to the audience and media for supporting the film so much in spite of the fact that there might have been things that would have curtailed the happy release of the film. There were times when we had to call people and ask them to please let us release our film peacefully. Film watching and filmmaking is an experience of love and I want to thank all the people who helped us release this film for the people.”

“Pathaan” starring Shah Rukh Khan breaks box office records in India

Pathaan
  • Pathaan recorded the highest-ever box office collections for a Hindi film.
  • The film raked in 2.5 billion rupees ($30 million) in its first five days.
  • It is Shah Rukh Khan’s first movie in four years and features Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan´s new film “Pathaan” has smashed Indian box office records following its release last week, bringing hope to Bollywood after a spate of weak showings.

“Pathaan” recorded the highest-ever box office collections for a Hindi film for its opening and second day in India, and raked in 2.5 billion rupees ($30 million) in its first five days, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted Sunday.

Its international ticket sales soared past one billion rupees ($13.7 million) in just three days, according to Yash Raj Films, which produced the movie.

It comes after glitzy Hindi-language Bollywood films struggled at the box office following the reopening of Indian cinemas about a year ago after a pandemic hiatus.

“The unprecedented celebratory success of ´Pathaan´ I think speaks volumes about where we are headed as the Hindi movie industry,” movie theatre chain owner Akshaye Rathi said Monday.

“Here we are back to the old school way of celebrating cinema in theatres as a community viewing experience.”

The release of “Pathaan”, 57-year-old Khan´s first movie in four years, had been highly anticipated.

Khan, popularly known as “King Khan”, has a huge fan following around the world. The film also features Bollywood heart-throb Deepika Padukone and action hero John Abraham.

Videos shared on social media showed fans in Indian cinemas dancing and cheering during the film.

Kangana said, Pathan is simply a film goonjega to sirf Jai Shri Ram

Kangana
  • Kangana Ranaut questioned ‘all those who are claiming Pathaan is triumph of love over hate’.
  • The film broke box office records, grossing ₹106 crore worldwide on its opening day.
  • The actor had praised the film after it’s release on Wednesday.

On Friday, Kangana Ranaut discussed Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan in a string of tweets. After the movie’s release on Wednesday, the actor, who had previously lauded it, reversed course and questioned “all those who are claiming Pathaan is a triumph of love over hatred.” This came after the movie shattered box office records by earning 106 crore on its first day globally. In response to someone who claimed that Pathaan was the solution to everyone who keeps asking, “Who can lead the country, if not Prime Minister Narendra Modi?

After her 2020 ban was removed, Kangana has made a comeback on social media. Kangana recently tweeted on Pathaan’s box office success, “The love of India has defeated adversaries’ petty politics and their hatred. Lekin (but) if you have great hopes, please take care… The movie “Pathan Sirf” is now playing. Jai Shri Ram, goonjega toh yahan sirf… Pathaan is simply a movie; the nation will only hear screams of “Jai Shri Ram” instead.” Kangana Ranaut appeared to respond to Karan Johar’s recent comment that “love trumps hate” after Pathaan’s opening day box office haul smashed records. The actor then appeared to take aim at those who believed PM Modi might be replaced by Shah Rukh’s Pathaan.

On Friday, she responded to a Twitter user, who wrote, “I think 2023 has finally given the answer to (the question) – ‘Modi nahin toh kaun (If not Narendra Modi, then who can lead the country)???’ The answer is Pathaan.” Kangana tweeted in response, “Warning: If film industry doesn’t want to bear the brunt of political propaganda then they should condemn such propaganda using their films. Tum khelo toh game hai hum khelein toh shame hai, aisa nahi chalega bhai… baad mein mat rona hum toh artistes hai, abhi se aukat mein raho (if they play then it is a game, if we play then it is shame. Artistes should stay in their lane now itself and not cry later).”

She also responded to a tweet that read, “I don’t think the movie is great or pathbreaking in terms of script and making – but the response in terms of reactions and collections is slap in the faces of those who have been after Bollywood for no rhyme or reason. It is a silent revolt by the public against the RW (Right Wing) brigade.” Kangana reacted to it, tweeting, “If success of Pathaan is openly and shamelessly associated with success of Left Wing politics, which is associated with a party (Congress) then why film industry cries foul if Right Wing ideology opposes them? First decide whether films/ art is political or not.. .If yes then fight opposition righteously aisa nahi ho sakta (it cannot be so that) when you win toh you make films political and rub in our faces and when we win you cry foul and shame us by calling us RW bigots who are exploiting art for political agenda… logic ki maa bahen mat karo sudhar jao (don’t abuse logic, correct your ways now).”

Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and others, was released on January 25 after receiving boycott requests and protests in previous weeks. Siddharth Anand is the director of the picture.

Prior to Pathaan, John and SRK collaborated in an old Pepsi ad

Pathaan
  • Before Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham were seen together in an advertisement for Pepsi.
  • In 2007, the actors poked fun at each other.
  • They vied for the attention of a teenager.

Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham first appeared together in a commercial before collaborating on the film Pathaan. In a 2007 Pepsi commercial, the performers made fun of one another as they competed for the attention of a teenager who was more interested in the soft drink than they were, which was being promoted in new packaging.

Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham are both upstaged in the nearly one minute-long commercial by a young person with attitude. The commercial begins in a cafe where Shah Rukh Khan and John are joking about and making fun of each other’s hair. A small youngster enters and makes a deliberate move in their direction after recognising the performers. Shah Rukh and John noticed the youngster, who was sporting an enormous casual clothing, and debated who should approach the boy first to get his autograph. Shah Rukh made fun of John’s physique, but the latter made it seem like the star didn’t know how to sign a signature properly.

They both stop grabbing the pen from each other’s hands as the boy approaches them and turn to smile at him. The young child then motions for his uncle to move aside and says, “Uncle, zara side dena.” After then, the actors separate, allowing a Pepsi vending machine to be seen behind them. Shah Rukh and John are surprised and ashamed when the youngster approaches the vending machine and retrieves his Pepsi can. Then, in Hindi, Shah Rukh spoke to John “He addressed you as uncle. That did not appeal to me at all.”

Next, Shah Rukh and John spot the same boy again at the cafe. As John gets ready to ‘hit him’ for insulting him the last time they met, the boy asked Shah Rukh if he was holding his Pepsi can. When Shah Rukh said yes, the boy replied ‘thank you, uncle’ leaving John in splits. Shah Rukh then said pointing towards John, “He said thank you (to me), and uncle (to you).”

In their brand-new film Pathaan, Shah Rukh and John collaborated for the first time on a big screen. Deepika Padukone also appears in the action movie, which was written and directed by Siddharth Anand and is produced by Aditya Chopra. Prior to Republic Day in 2023, Pathaan was released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on January 25, 2023. There were rumours of a fight between Shah Rukh and John before the movie’s release regarding Pathaan. However, in recent social media posts, both actors have been complimentary of one another. They have even appeared together at Mumbai’s special Pathaan screenings.

SRK film  gets 70 crore in Hindi breaking yet another record

SRK
  • The film stars SRK, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles.
  • Pathaan is breaking records ever since its release on Wednesday.
  • It has collected around ₹70 crore on its second day, which happened to be a Republic Day holiday.

Ever since its Wednesday release, Pathaan has been setting records. The Hindi version of the Siddharth Anand-directed film went on to earn almost 70 crore on its second day, which also happened to be a holiday because it had the highest Bollywood opening. Along with Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia playing crucial roles, the movie stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham as the key roles. The movie also has a cameo from Salman Khan.

Pathaan became the highest-grossing Bollywood opening film in history on Wednesday with domestic sales of 57. On day 2, which was Thursday and a holiday for Republic Day, it eventually surpassed 100 crore. It goes without saying that the movie’s second-day earnings were the biggest for a Bollywood production.

Pathaan made at least 70 crore in the Hindi language, and the final figures may be higher, said Boxofficeindia.com. This would bring its two-day earnings to about 127 crore. According to the article, “There is no movie that has even come close to 70 crore nett, with the 50 crore nett milestone being broken a few times on the first day.”

Taran Adarsh, a film industry expert, published the day 2 box office totals at three significant national chains on Thursday night, including INOX, Cinepolis, and PVR. “#Pathaan at *national chains*,” he tweeted. Day 2… 10.10 p.m. update PVR: 13.75 million; INOX: 11.65 million; Cinepolis: 6.20 million 31.60 crore UNSTOPPABLE is the total. The total revenue for #Pathaan on Day 1 at national chains was $27.08 cr.

Pathaan is your true-blue commercial, masala entertainer that’s not aiming to bring across any message or be a social reflection on the current condition of events in the country,” the Hindustan Times’ review of the movie stated. It’s great, carefree, and enjoyable all at once.

To accommodate the enormous demand across the nation as soon as the movie opened on Wednesday, midnight showings were also added. The movie premiered on 8000 screens worldwide, including 2500 screens offshore. In the upcoming weekend, it might continue to set a lot more new records.

Karan Johar reacts to Pathaan’s ‘100 crore’ box office haul

Karan Johar
  • Karan Johar reacts to Pathaan’s box office success.
  • Film has become biggest Bollywood opener ever, earning ₹57 crore in India on its first day.
  • Filmmaker also went gaga over ‘mega star’ Shah Rukh calling him the ‘greatest of all time’.

In response to Pathaan’s box office performance, Karan Johar wrote in his most recent social media post that “love forever trumps hate.” Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham’s Pathaan was released on January 25 following demands for a boycott and demonstrations against the movie’s actors and crew in recent weeks. According to YRF, the movie earned 57 crore in India on its first day, making it the greatest Bollywood opening ever. Karan applauded the movie for making “100 crore and more in one day (global figures).” Shah Rukh, a “super star,” was also the subject of the filmmaker’s adoration, who dubbed him the “best of all time.”

Sharing a poster of Shah Rukh Khan from Pathaan, Karan Johar wrote on Instagram Stories, “Hits beyond a century!!! 100 crore and above in one day! GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) mega star SRK, visionary and legendary YRF and Adi (Aditya Chopra)… Sid (Siddharth Anand), Deepika, John!!! Wow.” Karan added a series of firecracker emojis to the note. The filmmaker further wrote, “Love forever trumps hate! Mark this date…”

On Wednesday, Karan wrote a lengthy post on Instagram in which he congratulated Siddharth Anand and Aditya Chopra. Pathaan was said to as the “largest blockbuster” by him. Karan had shared the movie’s poster and added the following caption: “When was the last time I had such a good time at the movies? The biggest blockbuster ever is this one! Massive is the word! Shah Rukh Khan’s allure, charisma, superstardom, desirability, and pure genius… the hottest, beautiful and sensationally attractive agent you will ever discover Deepika Padukone, the sexiest and most appealing villain John Abraham…”

Karan had also added in his note, “Brilliantly directed and conceptualised by Sid (Siddharth Anand)! He knows how to mount a film like very few can… I am so so so proud of my BFF (best friend) the invisible Aditya Chopra!!! You may never see him! But his vision and brilliance is insurmountable! And as for the KING! He went nowhere he just waited for the right time to rule! Love you bhai Shah Rukh Khan!!!”

After being released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, Pathaan grossed 57 crore at the domestic box office on day one as Yash Raj Films. Pathaan admirers respond to reports of “empty theatres”

Pathaan
  • Some are still sceptical of how Pathaan is being received by the audience.
  • Shah Rukh Khan’s spy-action film, Pathaan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
  • The film heard calls for boycott and a big controversy about one of its songs.

Some people are still sceptical about how Pathaan is being accepted by the crowd, despite an estimated 50 crore opening and sold-out performances all over the country. Before its release, the spy-action movie Pathaan, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, faced boycott requests and a significant uproar over one of its songs. However, it appears that nothing truly changed the number of people that visited theatres on opening day.

However, despite the excellent box office statistics that are rolling in, tweets of empty movie theatres have appeared. “Is #Pathaan a hit or a flop? Tweet with a picture of a largely empty theatre says, “Got this clip from someone. On the big screen, Pathaan was not, though. Many people responded to him by sharing videos of audience members dancing to Jhoome Jo Pathaan or Besharam Rang while the event was on.

A Twitter user also compiled a string of videos that showed people dancing and hooting in theatres. “Compare the reaction of audience in theatres on Pathan with that of a recent state-promoted film; where the latter not only led to vile hate speech in the theatres but was also later used to provoke violence,” read a tweet attached to a video. “Audience started dancing on #JhoomeJoPathaan song in cinema hall. People celebrating @iamsrk movie after four years,” wrote another. “Saw some tweets claiming theaters are empty and no one is watching #Pathaan,” read another tweet with a similar video.

Given the huge response to the film, which opened in 5,000 screens with big cities, including Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, beginning shows at 6 am and 7 am, Yash Raj Films said it had added a post midnight 12.30 am show across the country beginning Wednesday. Besides, 300 more screens were added due to high demand, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The film’s screen count now stands at 8,500 worldwide, he said.

Besharam Rang, a song in the movie directed by Siddharth Anand that showcases Deepika Padukone in a variety of outfits—including a saffron bikini—has prompted demands for a boycott.

The movie’s triumph, which is expected to have the greatest opening for any Hindi film ever, was depicted in a fan-adoration montage. The SRK squad honoured the celebrity in Kolkata by feeding chocolate cake on the movie’s poster. Some people in Guwahati covered Pathaan billboards with milk, evoking the craze that usually surrounds a Rajinikanth movie.

Many people took photographs with enormous posters and cutouts of the 56-year-old star as security was stepped up in the hallways in preparation for protests.

Prakash Raj criticises the ‘boycott bigots’ movement

Prakash Raj
  • Prakash Raj praises Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and the team of Pathaan.
  • The film released on Wednesday after facing boycott calls from a section of people.
  • Pathaan song was criticised by some for featuring Deepika in an orange swimsuit.

After receiving boycott requests from several people, including politicians, the Pathaan crew, including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and others, released the movie on Wednesday. Prakash Raj praised them on Twitter. The actor recently tweeted that Shah Rukh “is back” and showered Pathaan’s team with affection. To his tweet, he included the hashtag “Besharam Rang.” Some people criticised the Pathaan song since it featured Deepika in an orange bathing suit.

The day before Republic Day in 2023, on January 25, Pathaan was made available in theatres. On the day of Pathaan’s premiere, Prakash Raj tweeted: “Hey, shun bigots. Shhhhhhhhh… Halla bol, King Khan (yell louder)… Keep rocking with Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and team Pathaan now that Shah Rukh Khan is back!” When Deepika’s attire in the song Besharam Rang was criticised earlier in December of last year, Prakash also took to Twitter to defend her.

Reacting to his latest tweet, a Twitter user wrote, “Prakash Raj is the only actor, politician and activist, who celebrates others’ success as his own.” Another one tweeted, “Boycott gang is crying in a corner. King (Shah Rukh Khan) is back.” However, a section of Twitter users asked Prakash to substantiate his claim, with one tweeting, “Can you please attach a screenshot of any theater, where Pathaan is running successfully?”

There have been boycott requests and demonstrations from several political organisations against Pathaan, particularly its song Besharam Rang. Following the release of the song’s music video, some political parties took issue with Deepika Padukone’s orange swimsuit, notably its colour, leading to rallies and the burning of posters around the nation. When Besharam Rang was launched in December 2022, among others, Narottam Mishra, the home minister for Madhya Pradesh, opposed to it.

Threats to stop screenings and boycott calls, however, seem to have failed given Pathaan’s encouraging first-day box office performance. “Pathaan has scored a tremendous opening day at the box office,” according to a Box Office India report, “taking a 50-51 crore nett collection in its Hindi version.” Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had earlier told the news agency PTI that Pathaan will “revive Bollywood” and usher in a “great 2023″ for the motion picture industry.

Pathaan: Why is Dimple Kapadia the actual boss in SRK new film?

Dimple Kapadia
  • Dimple Kapadia was never defined by the usual limitations of a Hindi film heroine.
  • Her latest role in Pathaan makes her stand out among a cast.
  • That includes Shah Rukh, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

Dimple Kapadia plays Shah Rukh Khan’s boss in the current movie Pathaan, but she also excels in many other ways. Dimple is the senior officer who Shah Rukh portrays as a former RAW agent who is a member of a special unit (funnily named JOCR). Pathaan’s guru may have also been Nandini (Dimple). Dimple’s performance in Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, is not her greatest. Nevertheless, it is one of her best recent performances in a Hindi film.

In the current film Pathaan, Dimple Kapadia plays Shah Rukh Khan’s boss, but she also shines in many other areas. Shah Rukh portrays the senior officer Dimple as a former RAW agent who is a part of a special squad (funnily named JOCR). Nandini might have also been Pathaan’s teacher (Dimple). Dimple didn’t provide her best performance in Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan. Nevertheless, it ranks among her best recent Hindi film performances.

Dimple is accustomed to nailing performances, and a well-carved character just highlights the beauty of her efforts. Dimple’s acting throughout the movie is amazing, especially when compared to an artist like Ashutosh Rana.

Pathaan makes effective use of Dimple’s swag, which was possibly redefined with her Hollywood debut (Christopher Nolan’s Tenet). She was also shown as an older, self-assured woman in her Hindi films after Tenet (A Thursday, and Brahmastra Part One Shiva), but not nearly as admirably as Pathaan does.

Pathaan, billed as a spy thriller set in the “spy universe” of Yash Raj Films, tells the tale of the titular character (played by Shah Rukh Khan as Pathaan) and his efforts to protect India and its people as John Abraham (as Jim) and his friends make every effort to attack different parts of the nation.

The Pathaan narrative is not particularly original or unexpected. There are frequently turns that defy rational analysis. Despite this, the movie features all the trademark “entertainer, masala” ingredients: humour, romance, suspense, and whistle-worthy moments (not just Salman Khan’s cameo).

Dimple Kapadia’s introduction into Hindi films and her first few parts were primarily about her beauty and sex appeal when she had a cinematic debut as sensational as Raj Kapoor’s Bobby in 1973 at the age of 16. She was one of the most self-assured people of her time, making the most of her sensuality. Films like Jaanbaaz and Saagar were well-liked by viewers who adored Dimple’s sensual persona.

She has largely carved out her own path and given strength to on-screen women, especially in commercial and masala films, with parts like Megha Dixit aka Kalamwali Bai (Krantiveer, 1994) and Kiran Dutt (Zakhmi Aurat, 1988). The decisions she took in unorthodox films like Rudaali and Antareen helped define her time in the 1990s.

She didn’t start picking fewer roles until the late 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, and these roles completely changed how older women were portrayed on screen. Dimple picked out a select few parts, ranging from Homi Adajania’s Finding Fanny and Being Cyrus to Somnath Sen’s Leela, that allowed women to defy social expectations and lead the lives they desired. It’s encouraging to observe her making wise decisions even in her second stint in Bollywood.

SRK comeback poster is heavy on action but low on logic

Shah Rukh Khan's
  • Deepika Padukone’s outfits to John Abraham’s chiselled muscles to Shah Rukh Khan’s CGI-enhanced six-pack abs.
  • Pradha Pathaan is worth the wait and all the hype.
  • Director Sidharth Anand once again presents his characters in the most glammed-up avatars.

Pathaan is quick, furious, and about difficult missions. Pathaan is worth the wait and all the excitement because it brings Shah Rukh Khan, who is perhaps the final superstar of our generation, back to the big screen in a full-fledged role after four years. The nicest thing is that the man is introduced to us right away in all of his splendour. Within the first ten minutes of the movie, ‘Zinda Hai,’ as Pathaan claims in the trailer, is encircled by armed, bloodthirsty warriors. The movie is the ideal addition to this grandiose spy world, which has already featured Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir and Tiger starring Salman Khan. Having previously directed the action films Bang Bang and War, director Sidharth Anand once more introduces his characters.

The glitziest avatars, providing you with sufficient drool-worthy moments. Even if you don’t delve too deeply for a meaningful tale or logic, Pathaan has too much to offer, from Deepika Padukone’s clothes to John Abraham’s chiselled physique to Shah Rukh Khan’s CGI-enhanced six-pack abs.

It centres on Pathaan (Khan), a former soldier who has become an undercover agent and is discovered while on a mission. He is now back to defend his nation against Jim (Abraham), a former R&AW agent who went rogue after being wronged by his own people. The movie provides compelling back tales for each of its characters. Rubia (Padukone), a former ISI operative, joins the assignment and has her allegiances called into doubt on multiple occasions. That’s about it, then. With a lot of in-your-face action and jumping from one lovely place to another with views that occasionally detract from the actual action unfolding in front of you, the whys and hows are eventually revealed.

On top of a train, Khan performed Chaiyya Chaiya, but Pathaan gives you much more. He is engaged in combat while perched atop a Hummer, before jumping into a truck while suspended in midair on a line connected to two helicopters. In Pathaan, men primarily soar during the most intense action scenes, with virtually little action taking place on the ground. Additionally, you really don’t need much else to raise your excitement levels when Khan and Abraham are engaged in combat on the big screen. And certainly, the train is still remembered. When Pathaan encounters Tiger (Salman Khan), the movie’s climax—and possibly its best moment—involves a complex action scene.after that atop a moving train. Loud shouting, hooting, screaming, and whistling could be heard throughout this moment, making it difficult to concentrate on what was being shown on the screen. With two celebrities in one frame dressed to the nines, it was nothing less than a celebration of pure stardom.

Despite its length of 146 minutes, Pathaan feels a little stretched out in the second half when you’re eager to reach the finale. The writing isn’t strong enough to make a lasting impression, although there are a few dialogues that are funny or sound overly serious. Pathaan is packed with action, but it’s best if you don’t try to understand the reason behind the seemingly impossible lifts and drops because there is none. They are a spectacle that effortlessly draws you in and is a visual feast. It occasionally becomes a little too fanciful. but when filmmakers attempt to produce a movie on the magnitude of a Hollywood action movie, that is what they get. The action is excellent, but some of the visual effects felt underwhelming, and in certain scenes, you could clearly see the green chroma screen. The non-linear storyline and screenplay by Shridhar Raghavan also contributed to my confusion for the majority of the first half. After a while, it just became too chaotic with how quickly it jumped from one timeframe and one continent to another. The pre-interval block is when the picture starts to come together.

It might have taken over three decades to get to play an out-and-out action hero, but it’s never too late to pack a punch. He’s charming, gritty and lets his eyes do most of the talking. The wit he brings on screen is straight out of his #AskSRK sessions and even in the most intense and deadly scenes, Khan makes you smile with his comic punchlines said with a straight face. Padukone in her hot and sultry avatar amps up the glam quotient so effortlessly. She gets her own share to perform and shine despite the men taking a major share of screen time. With the kind of finesse she brings in action sequences, her own, fleshed-out action flick won’t be too much to ask for. Abraham makes you love him as a brooding baddie. Forget the muscles, for you can’t take your eyes off his swelling veins through his tattooed arms. Adding gravitas to the story, Ashutosh Rana and Dimple Kapadia lend an able support to the cast and have their own lighter moments to shine.

Pathaan is your true-blue commercial, masala entertainer that’s not trying to send across any message or be a social commentary on the current state of affairs in the country. It’s fun, non-fussy and fantastic at the same time. Go watch it for Shah Rukh Khan and you would only come back with a smile, and maybe grooving a bit. Don’t miss the scene just before end credits for it’s not everyday you see two superstars in a banter about their stardom.

Taran Adarsh reviews Pathaan

“#OneWordReview… #Pathaan: BLOCKBUSTER. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ #Pathaan has it all: Star power, style, scale, songs, soul, substance and surprises… And, most importantly, #SRK, who’s back with a vengeance… Will be the first #Blockbuster of 2023,” wrote film trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Praise for Pathaan action scenes

Film critic Suchin Mehrotra tweeted, “SRK may be responsible for one of the modern Hindi cinema’s greatest action set pieces with Ra One’s local train sequence.. but he may well have just matched it with one in Pathaan (which just happens to also take place on a train).” He was also impressed by the end credit scene. “Throw in a gloriously cheeky end credits scene that got me more buzzing and gave me more joy than perhaps any Marvel post credits scene.”

John Abraham looks dashing at Ambani party

John Abraham
  • John Abraham dressed down for Ambani party.
  • Internet thought he could have gone for formal attire this time.
  • John Abraham attended the engagement party of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai.

Even though actor John Abraham is known for wearing comfortable clothing, many were taken aback by his appearance at the Ambani celebration on Thursday. The internet suggested that John should have stuck with formal attire this time but instead chose to dress casually for the celebration.

The actor showed up to Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s engagement celebration wearing a white T-shirt, blue trousers, a casual black jacket, and white sneakers. The relatively understated appearance in a sea of kurtas, three-piece suits, and lehengas was, to put it mildly, unexpected. Instagram users agreed.

He really went like that,” asked a person in a comment on a paparazzi video of John as he posed for the camera with his hands in his jeans pockets. “Why do guys think it’s ok to come to a formal event looking like that,” wrote another. “Where is he going dressed like that,” wrote another. A fan also joked, “Ambani ho ya bill gates… Dress code apni marzi ka hona cheye (Whether it is Ambani or Bill Gates, one should dress however one wants).”

The party’s other famous guests preferred to keep things glitzier and more formal. Shah Rukh Khan appeared to be wearing a blue achkan, Aryan Khan opted for a black suit, and Ranveer Singh sported a glossy black outfit. Salman Khan wore a blue kurta pyjama. The women were all attired in sarees, lehengas, and suits.

Shah Rukh Khan praises Deepika Padukone’s acting in “Pathaan”

Shah Rukh Khan
  • Shah Rukh Khan can be seen answering questions related to both his co-stars Deepika and John Abraham.
  • The makers of the film dropped an 8-minute video.
  • Khan calls Deepika Padukone’s character in the film likable, vulnerable and strong.

In the highly anticipated action movie Pathaan, Deepika Padukone plays a role that Shah Rukh Khan praises as likable, vulnerable, and strong.

In an eight-minute video released by the movie’s producers, Khan can be seen responding to inquiries about his co-stars Deepika and John Abraham.

While talking about Deepika’s role, he added: “To need someone of the stature of Deepika Padukone. To be able to pull off song sequence like Besharam Rang and then you know to be able to do an action where she takes a guy pulls him and tie to herself and beats him. She is tough enough to do that. I think she is tougher than me in the action scenes. So, that kind of a combination could have only been achieved with someone like Deepika.”

He further remarked: “And then this whole emotion thing, there are two-three sequences in the film where you get to know why is she this balancing act of not knowing if she is good or bad. And then there is huge vulnerable side to that character. Being an action film obviously we cannot go too deep into it and keep on following that approach because when you come to see an action film after 10-12minutes you want to see action or some thrill going on.”

SRK called Padukone’s character as strong. “But I think there is enough for Deepika. To be extremely likeable, vulnerable and very strong. So, physically she has to look like that and still be feminine. So it’s a quite a layered character for an action film ‘heroine’ so to say, concluded the Chak De India actor.”

John Abraham is praised by Shah Rukh Khan on ‘gentle giant

Shah Rukh Khan
  • Shah Rukh Khan recently revealed how John Abraham refused to punch him during the Pathaan shoot.
  • The actor recently opened up about working with John.
  • He revealed how John refused to punch him during the shoot and called him a ‘national treasure’.

John Abraham reportedly declined to strike Shah Rukh Khan during the Pathaan filming. Earlier, there were rumours that the co-stars’ relationship was not going well.
In their upcoming action movie, Pathaan, actors Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham will be seen at odds with one another. Shah Rukh recently talked about working with John when there were rumours about their actual fight. He discussed how John stood his ground during the filming and referred to him as a “national treasure.”

Shah Rukh plays the soldier Pathaan in Siddharth Anand’s film Pathaan. Pathaan ends his “hiatus” after he receives a call to fight for a terrorist group led by John Abraham. Shah Rukh is joined by Deepika Padukone on his journey.

Speaking of the movie, Shah Rukh discussed his thoughts on John playing a negative part in a conversation session that was posted on the Yash Raj Film YouTube channel. He recounted how they had become friends and had known John ever since he moved to Mumbai. Shah Rukh called John “shy, very quiet, and repulsive,” yet he was eager to watch him in Pathaan.

“I met him many times when he was doing a film or we wanting to do a film together and this happened per chance. I was very keen he does it and he was kind enough to do a role where he is really a bad guy. He is a top star. He has his own franchises happening and he has got these really cool action films happening and to decide to take on a film where he is a bad guy, you know, so takes a lot of guts,” he added. Shah Rukh also shared while most actors refuse to play antagonists in films, John is different. “Takes a lot of confidence in your own self, especially when I see in the Hindi film scenario. Heroes don’t play bad guys. I’d love to play a bad guy. I gained deep respect for him.”

It was nice working with him and all so I realised he is a gentle giant. You know when we were doing action and everything. He says…he called me a national treasure and said, ‘I will not hurt you.’ I said you can, it’s ok. He is very shy and I had to do a lot of convincing to tell him it’s ok, you can punch me and I won’t get hurt. I think he is so proficient in action. He really helped me look nice you know, in body language. It was very kind of him. I think when you are doing a film with a co-star like John, there is a lot to learn from him. Being the star that he is and the respect that he has for me,” said the superstar. He signed off with these words: “I hope when Pathaan comes out, one of the most liked characters, genuinely is John’s. I really wish it because it takes a lot of guts to do what he has done as an actor and as a star,” Shah Rukh shared his work experience with John in their first film together.

Prior reports stated that John and Shah Rukh’s relationship was not going well. According to rumours, John was unhappy with the way Pathaan turned out, which might have affected his relationship with Shah Rukh. John’s attendance at an event where he sidestepped a query about Shah Rukh Khan’s body in Pathaan fueled the rumours. John afterwards wrote a note about Pathaan.

The movie Pathaan will debut on January 25.
