CTD arrest three TTP terrorists involved in cop killing

KARACHI: Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested three alleged terrorists of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan(TTP) involved in killing of policemen in Karachi city.

The CTD investigation department has arrested three alleged terrorists of banned TTP including Farhad, Haji Rehman and Sagheer. The CTD team has also recovered three pistols and organizational literature while acting on a tip-off in Sohrab Goth.

DSP CTD Investigation Department Chaudhry Safdar said that the responsibility of the attack on the police was accepted by the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, these accused belong to TTP Maulana Bashir group.

Chaudhry Safdar said that the arrested accused have revealed during the investigation that the TTP had recently given them the task of attacking the police.

According to DSP CTD, the weapons recovered from the arrested accused are being sent for forensics and the investigation of the accused is underway. He said more important revelations are expected.

It may be recalled that on June 3, 2024, unknown terrorists attacked the police personnel on the picket when they were specially deployed to protect the citizens going to the cattle market near Jamali Bridge area of Sohrab Goth.

SAHIWAL: Two arrested terrorists including the mastermind of Dasu hydel power project attack were killed by their accomplices in Sahiwal District of Punjab.

According to Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) spokesman, terrorists Muhammad Hussain and Ayaz alias Jahanzeb were being transferred from Sahiwal Jail due to security concerns, where the firing incident took place on Sammundari road in Sahiwal.

The spokesman said that to free the arrested terrorists, their accomplices opened fire on the police, as a result of which both terrorists were killed by the firing of their own accomplices.

It should be noted that the court had awarded the death penalty to the terrorists involved in the Dasu attack. On July 14, 2021, 13 people, including 9 foreigners, were killed and 20 injured in the Daso attack.

In November 2022, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) handed down the death sentence on 13 counts to each of the two men arrested in the DHPP terrorist attack case.

CTD kills 209 terrorists across KP in last 9 months

PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed 209 terrorists and 244 were held during intelligence based operations across the province during the last nine months.

According to the statistics issued by CTD, It said that a total 497 incidents of terrorism took place in 27 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last nine months in which 1,154 terrorists of banned organizations were nominated in FIRs, adding that so far 16 accused had so far been punished by the relevant courts.

Sharing the details, the CTD report stated that 39 terrorists were killed in 52 incidents of terrorism occurred in district Dera Ismail Khan, the hometown of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and provincial Chief Minister. The police arrested four terrorists.

Similarly, 22 miscreants were killed and 25 were held in 55 incidents in Khyber district, it said, adding that 54 incidents of terrorism were reported from North Waziristan wherein the CTD police killed 27 terrorists and arrested eight others during the operations.

The provincial capital witnessed 33 incidents of terrorism during the last nine months where 66 terrorists were arrested and eight were killed.

In district Shangla, six incidents of terrorism were reported in which 33 terrorists were arrested and one was killed.

The CTD police killed two terrorists and held three others in ten different incidents of terrorism during the period.

Likewise, 11 terrorists were killed in 39 incidents in South Waziristan, while one was arrested.

In 39 incidents of terrorism registered in district Bajaur, some five terrorists were killed while eight were arrested.

District Bannu witnessed 40 incidents of terrorism wherein 21 terrorists were arrested while 15 were killed.

Two terrorists were killed in two incidents of terrorism in district Buner, four were held and four others were killed in one incident in district Charsadda.

The CTD said that six incidents of terrorism occurred in district Lower Dir where two suspects were apprehended. Similarly, two terrorists were held in district Hangu where nine incidents of terrorism were reported.

In Karak, three suspects were arrested in connection with five incidents of terrorism. Four terrorists were killed in Kohat where five incidents occurred.

Six terrorists were held and one killed in 17 incidents of terrorism in District Kurram. 14 terrorists were killed and eight arrested in 37 incidents of terrorism in District Lakki Marwat. 25 terrorists were arrested in four incidents of terrorism in Malakand.

Similarly, four suspects were arrested in one incident of terrorism in Mansehra district. 11 terrorists were killed and nine were arrested in nine incidents in Mardan.

In Mohmand district, eight incidents were reported wherein six terrorists were killed and one was arrested.

Five terrorists were arrested while two were killed in seven incidents in Nowshera district.

The CTD killed 28 terrorists and arrested six suspects in 51 terrorist incidents in Tank District.

KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Karachi killed two suspects involved in Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) CTD Ali Raza murder case in Sher Shah area of ​​Karachi.

CTD officials said the slain terrorists were identified as Qasim Rasheed and Usman. The terrorists killed DSP CTD Ali Raza in Karimabad area of the city this year.

A reward of Rs 5 million was announced for anyone who helps in arresting the dead terrorists.

It should be remembered that in July this year, two assailants on a motorcycle fired at DSP Ali Raza’s car in Karachi’s Karimabad area, as a result of which Ali Raza and his bodyguard were seriously injured.

Both were immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where both succumbed to their injuries.

Explosive material 4895 gms, hand grenades 02, IED bombs 02, detonators 26, safety fuse wire 73 feet, 30 bore pistols 04 and 19 bullets, pamphlets of proscribed organization 17, magazines 07, books 15, pamphlets 121,  stickers 156, receipt books 04, mobile phones 02, cash of Rs.960 were recovered terrorists.

The spokesman further said that the terrorists had planned sabotage law and order situation across the province and wanted to target important installations and other places. However, 9 cases have been registered against the arrested terrorists and they are being further investigated.

ATC sends Rauf Hassan to jail on judicial remand

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-terrorism court (ATC) Islamabad sent Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Rauf Hassan to jail on judicial remand.

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra held a hearing on Rauf Hassan’s remand, during which PTI leader’s lawyer Ali Bukhari appeared in the Anti-Terrorism Court.

During the hearing, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) requested Rauf Hassan’s 7-day physical remand, which the court rejected and sent the PTI leader to jail on judicial remand.

The court also issued notices for August 6 on Rauf Hassan’s post-arrest bail application.

Earlier, the Islamabad court had ordered the release of PTI leader Rauf Hassan from the case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act(PECA), but his release could not be implemented.

PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released the list of wanted terrorists during the 4 months of this year.

The list contains the names and photos of the 11 most wanted terrorists out of which 5 are from Lakki Marwat, 4 from Bannu, one from Shangla, and one from Sentanga Janikhel.

The price of the heads of 11 wanted terrorists has been set at 13.1 million, in the list. The price of the head of terrorist Habibullah alias Saifullah of Lakki Marwat is 5 million, while the price of the head of terrorist Muhammad Jameel from Bannu is 3 million.

The price of the head of Lakki Marwat’s Mohammad Gul alias Saqi has been set at one million while the price of the head of Zabadullah alias Chug, a terrorist from Bannu, has been set at one million.

Two terrorists killed in exchange of fire with CTD in Bahawalpur

Cases lodged at CTD over threatening letters to SC, LHC judges

A case was registered at Police Station CTD in Islamabad on the complaint of Supreme Court R&I Branch In-charge.

A case has been registered under sections 7 ATA and 507 of the Anti-Terrorism Act.

According to the text of the FIR, ordinary mail was received which was received by the secretaries of the respective justices. Admin-in-charge said over phone on April 3 that white powdery chemical is present in these envelopes.

70 operations were conducted in various cities of Punjab in view of terrorism concerns, CTD said that 5 terrorists were arrested during the intelligence based operation.

CTD spokesman said that the operation was conducted in Mianwali, Hafizabad, Okara and Jhelum. The CTD recovered explosives, 2 IED bombs, 10 detonators, arms and cash were recovered from the terrorists.

The spokesperson said that the terrorists were identified as Sharafat, Yaseen, Talha, Abdul Rehman and Usaid. The terrorists were planning to attack various institutions.

CTD officials further said that during 546 combing operations this week, 56 suspects were arrested, 21,337 people were questioned in combing operations.

CTD arrests terrorist of banned outfit from Jamshoro

ISLAMABAD: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh successfully apprehended a terrorist affiliated with a banned organization in Jamshoro.

According to CTD officials, the department also recovered 600 kg of explosives, a detonator, anti-state pamphlets and banners, indicating a well-coordinated plan to carry out a large-scale attack, a private news channel reported.

The CTD officials disclosed that the arrested individual had intentions to execute a terror attack on the polling day of the 2024 general election.

CTD arrests most wanted terrorist from Karachi

KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh conduct a raid and claimed to have arrested a most wanted terrorist from Soldier Bazar Karachi.

The most wanted terrorist working for the neighboring country was arrested during joint operation conducted by CTD and other law enforcement forces in Soldier Bazar.

CTD Spokesperson said  that the accused made an important disclosure during the investigation and said that the terrorist Syed Mehdi works for hostile intelligence agencies.  Syed Mehdi is related to Zainabiya Brigade, the arrested accused used to rake high value targets.

CTD spokesperson, he used to inform his accomplices Raza Jafari and Abid Raza, both actively involed in targeting and carrying out fatal attacks.

The spokesman further said that the accused used to use hand grenades and weapons to target the target.

The arrested accused also works for the sale of weapons, accused’s accomplice Raza Jafari and Abid Raza Mufti were allegedly involved in the attack on Taqi Usmani.

CTD arrests terrorist from Sahiwal

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested a terrorist of the banned organization Tehreeek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a raid in Sahiwal.

The CTD spokesman arrested a terrorist and recovered explosives while conducting an operation on Bonga Hayat Road in Sahiwal.

According to the spokesperson of CTD,  a partially prepared IED, two Prima Cards and a detonator have been recovered from the arrested terrorist.

Spokesman said the terrorist was identified as Osama Farooq, who belongs to Jampur, and the arrested terrorist belongs to the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

CTD has registered a case and started the proceedings.

CTD arrests terrorists planning to attack JUI, ANP chiefs

PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Peshawar arrested two suicide bombers belonging to the ISIS-K from the Matani area on Friday.

The terrorists were planning to attack the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the Awami National Party (ANP) president Aimal Wali.

Speaking to the media, Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Operations Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Najam Husnain Liaquat said that there was a report of the presence of a suicide bomber in Matani, on which the suicide bomber was arrested.

SSP CTD said that the arrested suicide bomber was identified as Adil Khan, while on the identification of the arrested terrorist, another accomplice Tahir was arrested.

Najam Al-Hussain also said that the terrorists had planned to target Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and Amil Wali Khan, the terrorists belonging to the Daesh Khorasan group.

The CTD officials said that the terrorists had also completed the reiki of the Mufti Mehmood Center as part of the plan.
