CTD arrests terrorist of banned outfit from Jamshoro

ISLAMABAD: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh successfully apprehended a terrorist affiliated with a banned organization in Jamshoro.

According to CTD officials, the department also recovered 600 kg of explosives, a detonator, anti-state pamphlets and banners, indicating a well-coordinated plan to carry out a large-scale attack, a private news channel reported.

The CTD officials disclosed that the arrested individual had intentions to execute a terror attack on the polling day of the 2024 general election.

CTD arrested Daesh commander in Karachi

KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh on Wednesday arrested a terrorist affiliated with banned organization during a raid in Karachi.

The arrest was made from Korangi Industrial Area. The Daesh commander has been identified as Abdul Malik.

CTD officials said a pistol along with rounds was seized from their possession. The initial investigation of CTD revealed that Abdul Malik is associated with Daesh’s Mula Abdul Manan group since 2011.

The arrested is an Afghan national, who is residing in Karachi for a long time. CTD officials further said that the arrested used to collect donations in Ramzan ul Mubarak and was sending them to Daesh in Afghanistan.

Apart from this, the accused also works as a Hawala Hundi. The accused has so far sent million of  rupees to Afghanistan through the transfer Hundi.

Further investigation is underway.

Earlier, Police  arried out raid on a tip-off, provided by an intelligence agency, in Shah Latif Town area of Karachi and arrested two alleged terrorists.

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested five terrorists from Lahore belonging to banned organization.

According to the details, the suspects arrested in the CTD operation include a banned organisation  commander. The arrested terrorists have been identified as Farooq Shah, Saifullah, Syed Shahzeb, Ahmed Khan and Asrar Ahmed.

The arrested terrorist had already planned to carry out an attack in sensitive districts.

The CTD officials recovered suicide jackets, explosives, guns, ammunition and literature pertaining to terror activities were recovered from the five suspects.

In the last week, 21,000 went through security checks in 504 combing operations and 153 suspected terrorists were arrested. Whereas 67 kidnapped people were also released.

Eelier on December 17, CTD Punjab arrested 12 suspects allegedly belonged to banned organizations during raids conducted in different areas of the province.

CTD Punjab has conducted operations against terrorists in various districts including Lahore.

During these operations, 12 suspected persons belonging to banned organizations have been arrested. The CTD also recovered explosives, electric switches, detonator safety fuses and weapons from the alleged terrorists.
