CTD arrests 11 terrorists belonging to banned organizations

LAHORE: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has detained 11 alleged terrorists of banned organizations and registered seven cases against them.

Owing to the current security situation in the city, CTD is conducting intelligence-based operations in the province.

As per details shared by CTD, 11 terrorists have been detained belonging to banned organizations. The arrested suspects include Najeebullah, Tahir Zaki, Aftab Kalim, Mazoor Khan, Niyaz Mohammad, Zubair, Abdul Sami, Hussain Mawiya, Daniyal Tanveer, and Mohammad Zubair.

Seven cases have been registered against those detained in the operation.

Moreover, 883 grams of explosives, detonators, hand grenades, hundreds of stickers and flags of banned organizations were recovered from the possession of the accused.

Pertinently, this week 795 combing operations were conducted with the help of local police/LEAs.

During Lahore combing operations 35,939 persons were checked, 161 suspects were arrested and 102 FIRs were registered and 91 recoveries were made.

On the other hand, security forces foiled a terrorist activity in Chaman area of Balochistan and recovered a huge cache of arms, and ammunition in an intelligence-based operation (IBO).
