ATC approves journalist Matiullah Jan bail

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) Islamabad approved the bail of plea of journalist Matiullah Jan in terrorism case.

Journalist Matiullah Jan, who was arrested two days ago from Islamabad, was produced in the anti-terrorism court. Matiullah Jan was produced before ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra.

During the hearing, Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra said give a copy of the order of the Islamabad High Court, where is release order. The Investigating Officer should place this order on record, sending Matiullah John to jail on judicial remand.

Matiullah’s Lawyer said that “We have filed a bail petition and have heard it today, on which the learned judge said that your bail plea consists of 7 pages”.

Prosecutor Raja Naveed pleaded to the court to cancel the bail of Matiullah Jan, however, the court granted the bail to Matiullah Jan and ordered him to submit a bond Rs 10,000.

ATC sends two BNP-Mengal leaders to jail on judicial remand

ISLAMABAD:  The anti-terrorism court has sent 2 leaders of Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M)  to jail on judicial remand in the case of carrying weapons in the Senate.

Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court, Islamabad Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the case against BNP Mengal leaders Akhtar Hussain and Shafi Muhammad for carrying weapons in the Senate Hall, in which connection they were brought to the court after two days of physical remand.

During the hearing, when the investigating officer(IO) asked for more remand for the recovery of weapons. On which court asked what was done in the last 2-day remand and which weapon is to be recovered.

Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra asked who is the head of the security of the Senate House and he should ask the security.

Later, the court rejected the plea of ​​physical remand for two more days and sent Akhtar Hussain and Shafi Muhammad to judicial remand prison.

ATC approves bail plea of Shoaib Shaheen

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) approved the bail application of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) leader Shoaib Shaheen and ordered his immediate release.

Tahir Abbas Sipra, Duty Judge of Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism Court, accepted Shoaib Shaheen’s bail plea after his arrest in the case registered at Sangjani police station.

The ATC court granted bail to Shoaib Shaheen against a surety of Rs 100,000.

According to the court order, a case was registered against Shoaib Shaheen for violations during the public gathering in Sangjani, the Islamabad administration had directed to end the jalsa at fixed time, but PTI failed to do so.

Under the case, Shoaib Shaheen is accused of abusing the police officers, keeping some of them in custody and torturing the police officer with a pistol but according to the records. However, no pistol or baton was recovered from Shoaib Shaheen.

Duty Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra said in his remarks that it was said about Shoaib Shaheen that he cannot catch even a quail, then the pistol was blamed.

He further remarked that Shoaib Shaheen is weak and suffering from medical problems, it is not proved that he attacked the police because of him.

ATC approves bail plea of Rauf Hassan

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court(ATC) Islamabad accepted the bail plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Rauf Hassan.

Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard the terror financing case against PTI leader Rauf Hassan, in which Prosecutor Raja Naveed and Rauf Hassan’s lawyer Ali Bukhari gave arguments.

During the hearing, Prosecutor Raja Naveed said that Rauf Hassan was named in the case immediately after Ahmad Waqas’s statement.

Rauf Hassan’s lawyer Ali Bukhari argued that Rauf Hassan is not named in the case, the FIR is blind, Rauf Hassan is accused of financing explosives, but he was not arrested with the explosives or from the crime scene.

Meanwhile, the prosecutor Raja Naveed requested to dismiss Rauf Hassan’s bail plea, which was rejected by the court.

The court granted Rauf Hassan’s bail against a surety bond of Rs 200,000.

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-terrorism court (ATC) Islamabad sent Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Rauf Hassan to jail on judicial remand.

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra held a hearing on Rauf Hassan’s remand, during which PTI leader’s lawyer Ali Bukhari appeared in the Anti-Terrorism Court.

During the hearing, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) requested Rauf Hassan’s 7-day physical remand, which the court rejected and sent the PTI leader to jail on judicial remand.

The court also issued notices for August 6 on Rauf Hassan’s post-arrest bail application.

Earlier, the Islamabad court had ordered the release of PTI leader Rauf Hassan from the case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act(PECA), but his release could not be implemented.
