Chris Evans set to return to Marvel in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Chris Evans
  • Chris Evans is reportedly returning to the MCU.
  • This time for a role in Avengers: Doomsday.
  • The specifics of his involvement remain unclear.

Chris Evans is reportedly returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for a role in Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.

The specifics of his involvement remain unclear, with sources suggesting he might reprise his role as Steve Rogers rather than donning the Captain America mantle, now held by Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson.

Evans’ potential comeback follows his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, the MCU’s highest-grossing R-rated film, where he revisited his Fantastic Four character Johnny Storm. His last appearance as Steve Rogers was in Avengers: Endgame, where his arc concluded with the character retiring as Captain America.

The Russos, known for their work on MCU blockbusters such as Avengers: Endgame and Captain America: Civil War, are once again at the helm for Avengers: Doomsday. The film is rumored to feature several original MCU characters, including Robert Downey Jr. as Dr. Doom, adding a multiversal twist to the storyline. The new Fantastic Four cast, including Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby, will also join the ensemble.

Avengers: Doomsday is slated for release on May 1, 2026, with its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for May 2027. Fans eagerly await confirmation of Evans’ role as excitement builds around the MCU’s next phase.

Animal
  • Bobby Deol’s viral dance was inspired by childhood Punjab memories.
  • Director Sandeep Vanga encouraged Bobby to create Abrar’s unique style.
  • Animal became a blockbuster, with Bobby’s role widely praised.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal has become a massive blockbuster, with Bobby Deol’s portrayal of the villain Abrar garnering widespread acclaim. Among the film’s many highlights, Bobby’s viral dance move in the song Jamal Kudu has captivated audiences. In an interview with Indian Express, Bobby revealed that the inspiration for the move came from childhood visits to Punjab.

“As a child, I used to go to Punjab during our summer and winter holidays. At night, the men would drink, and suddenly music would play. They would dance with glasses and bottles balanced on their heads,” Bobby shared. This nostalgic memory sparked the idea for the unique step, which has since become a defining moment in the film.

Recalling the shoot, Bobby admitted initial hesitation about dancing. “I told Sandeep [Vanga] I couldn’t dance with a choreographer,” he said. However, the director encouraged him to create a distinctive style for his character. Bobby sought advice from co-actor Saurabh Sachdeva, and a flood of personal memories inspired him.

The move, a simple act of balancing a glass on his head while dancing, has since gone viral. Bobby described the unexpected popularity as “amazing.”

Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Anil Kapoor. With a sequel, Animal Park, and plans for a trilogy announced, the franchise’s success continues to soar.

Chinese woman wins 10,000 yuan by avoiding phone for 8 hours

Chinese woman
  • A Chinese woman won 10,000 yuan by avoiding phones for 8 hours.
  • Contestants stayed calm, avoided deep sleep, and limited movement.
  • The competition sparked discussions about technology dependence.

A woman from Chongqing, southwestern China, recently won 10,000 yuan (approximately PKR 383,924) in a unique competition that challenged participants to abstain from using mobile phones for eight hours while staying calm and anxiety-free.

Held on November 29 at a local shopping center, the contest saw ten finalists out of 100 applicants spend eight hours on specially designated beds, devoid of electronic devices. Participants surrendered their phones and were given older emergency models for contacting family if needed. The rules were strict: contestants could not fall into a deep sleep, display signs of anxiety, or leave their beds for more than five-minute toilet breaks.

“It was all about testing mental endurance,” said the organizers, who monitored sleep and anxiety levels through wrist straps. Contestants occupied their time reading or relaxing, with meals and drinks provided.

A Chinese woman surnamed Dong emerged victorious with a score of 88.99 out of 100, excelling in calmness and mental focus. “This competition highlights the growing dependence on technology,” remarked a local observer.

Though the sponsoring company’s identity remains unknown, the event has sparked widespread discussion in China about digital detox and mental health. The no-mobile-phone challenge has become a viral sensation, drawing attention to the benefits of disconnecting.

Dharmendra faces cheating allegations involving ‘Garam Dharam Dhaba’ franchise

Dharmendra
  • Dharmendra is summoned by the Patiala House Court in a cheating case.
  • Investor alleges false promises led to ₹63 lakh loss.
  • Charges include cheating, conspiracy, and intimidation.

The Patiala House Court in Delhi has summoned veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra and two others in connection with a cheating case involving the ‘Garam Dharam Dhaba’ franchise.

The summons, issued by Judicial Magistrate Yashdeep Chahal, follows a complaint by businessman Sushil Kumar, who alleged he was misled into investing in the restaurant franchise.

“The evidence on record prima facie indicates that the accused persons induced the complainant,” stated the court, which has listed the case for further hearing on February 20, 2025.

The accused face charges under Sections 420 (cheating), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 34 (common intent), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to Kumar, the accused promised substantial returns from the franchise, citing a monthly turnover of ₹70-80 lakh at existing outlets. He was allegedly lured into investing ₹63 lakh and purchasing land in Uttar Pradesh but claimed no progress was made toward establishing the franchise.

Despite repeated attempts to contact the accused, Kumar alleges he received no response and was later threatened. Earlier, police called the matter a civil breach of contract.

However, the court found enough evidence to proceed, noting the transaction’s link to the Garam Dharam Dhaba. Advocate DD Pandey represents the complainant.
