Thai singer dies after complications from neck-twisting massage

Thai singer
  • Thai singer died from neck-twisting massage complications.
  • Thai doctors warn against risky neck massage practices.
  • Medical neglect worsened her condition, leading to tragic end.

Thailand is mourning the tragic death of Phing Chyada, a young Thai singer, whose passing has prompted warnings against neck-twisting massages. Chyada reportedly suffered severe complications after visiting a local massage studio to alleviate shoulder pain.

Chyada’s ordeal began with persistent shoulder discomfort. Opting for massage therapy instead of hospital treatment, she initially felt normal after her first session. However, two days later, she developed neck pain that escalated. Writing on Facebook, she shared, “I thought it was just normal pain from the massage.”

Despite worsening symptoms, including numbness in her arm, Chyada returned to the studio for more sessions. After a third, rough massage left her bruised and in agony, the numbness spread to her chest and leg. “Right now, I can’t use half my body,” she wrote, urging others to be cautious.

Doctors later identified a severely herniated disk in her neck, but it was too late. Chyada fell into a coma and passed away.

Her grieving mother criticized earlier medical responses, revealing that a doctor dismissed her symptoms as unrelated to massage and failed to investigate thoroughly. Chyada’s case has sparked widespread awareness, with Thai physicians now warning about the dangers of neck-twisting massages.
