Chris Evans is reportedly returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for a role in Avengers: Doomsday, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.

The specifics of his involvement remain unclear, with sources suggesting he might reprise his role as Steve Rogers rather than donning the Captain America mantle, now held by Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson.

Evans’ potential comeback follows his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, the MCU’s highest-grossing R-rated film, where he revisited his Fantastic Four character Johnny Storm. His last appearance as Steve Rogers was in Avengers: Endgame, where his arc concluded with the character retiring as Captain America.
