Bhushan Kumar on clash with Singham Again team over screen allocation

Singham Again
  • Bhushan Kumar revealed the tensions with the Singham Again team.
  • Kumar described intense arguments between the teams.
  • Bhushan emphasized the need to avoid such clashes in the future.

T-Series head Bhushan Kumar recently revealed the behind-the-scenes tensions between the teams of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again ahead of their box office clash.

Despite both films proving successful, Kumar described intense arguments between the teams, claiming that the Singham Again team was being “unfair” during discussions. “We had a lot of arguments with the Singham Again team because they were being unfair,” he said.

Kumar elaborated that the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 team was concerned about the unequal distribution of screens. He argued that both films had similar survey ratings, yet Singham Again received more screens, which he attributed to the distributors’ personal interests. To address the issue, Bhushan proposed starting advance bookings to measure audience interest, as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was generating significant buzz. This strategy helped the film secure a strong opening of over INR36 crore, despite the competition.

Though tensions eventually eased, Bhushan emphasized the need to avoid such clashes in the future, as it could hurt the industry’s overall business. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, directed by Anees Bazmee and starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit, performed well at the box office, while Singham Again, helmed by Rohit Shetty, also became a Diwali blockbuster.

Politicians compromised democracy for personal gains, says Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Maulana Fazlur Rehman

London: The head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has stated that politicians have played a major role in the weakening of democracy.

In a media talk in London, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he is not in favor of imprisoning any politician and that throughout history, the constitution and democracy have been undermined. Politicians, he added, have compromised on democracy for their own interests.

He also mentioned that the UK should take action according to the law in the case of Khawaja Asif, and with the new law, every citizen of the country has been made suspicious.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman further stated that whether in the Republican or Democratic government in the United States, their policy for the world remains the same, and he emphasized that neither do we interfere in American politics, nor can we allow them to interfere in ours.

Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif encountered unsettling heckling and threats of a “knife attack” from an unidentified individual at a station in London, as shown in a video that has circulated widely on social media.

Sources close to the PML-N leader confirmed, stating that the video showing the defence minister being threatened and mistreated is “authentic.”

This is not the first instance of a Pakistani political figure facing harassment in the UK’s capital. Recently, former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa’s car was targeted by PTI supporters at London’s Middle Temple.

Jacqueline Fernandez denies knowing her gifts were linked to ₹200 crore laundering case

Jacqueline Fernandez
  • The counsel of Jacqueline Fernandez appeared on Delhi HC.
  • The court case of ₹200 crore scam involves Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
  • Sukesh is the actress’s boyfriend, who gave her expensive gifts.

The counsel of Bollywood actress, Jacqueline Fernandez, has claimed in the Delhi High Court that she was unaware of the illegal origins of the expensive gifts she received, allegedly linked to the ₹200 crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Fernandez has challenged the charge sheet filed against her by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

During the hearing on Wednesday, her legal team argued that she was not involved in any criminal activity and did not know that the gifts were part of the proceeds of the crime. Senior advocate Siddharth Agrawal, representing Fernandez, stated, “It is also not the case of ED that she was aware that gifts she received were part of proceeds of crime.”

Justice Anish Dayal raised a question during the hearing, asking, “Whether there is a duty upon an adult person to know the source of gift one receives.”

The defense further argued that Fernandez had ceased communication with Chandrasekhar after reading a newspaper article in 2019 that raised concerns about his activities, but insisted that “the newspaper article is not evidence.” Counsel also contended that Jacqueline was misled by co-accused Pinky Irani, who convinced her that Chandrasekhar had political connections.

The court has scheduled the next hearing for November 26.
