PESHAWAR: Chief Justice Peshawar High Court(PHC) Muhammad Ibrahim Khan accepted the apology of Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Aimal Wali Khan in the contempt of court case.

Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan issued a written order, in the written order it was said that the case was disposed of on the submission of an apology letter by Aimal Wali Khan.

At the last hearing, the Chief Justice had ordered Aimal Wali to apologize by issuing a rebuttal statement.

Aimal Wali Khan said in his apology that Chief Justice Ibrahim Khan was hurt by his statement and he also apologized for the incident inside the court.

He further wrote that ANP believes in the philosophy of non-violence for four generations.

It should be noted that Aimal Wali Khan had given an insulting statement regarding Chief Justice Peshawar High Court in a video statement.

Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader from Charsada, Fazal Muhammad had filed a contempt of court case against Aimal Wali Khan.

KARACHI: University of Karachi and its alumni association—the Unikarians Internations—warmly welcomed the Nawardan Jamia (fresh students of the batch 2024) at the KU Silver Jubilee Gate on Monday.

The distinguished graduates along with the KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, President of Unikarians International Prof Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi, UNESCO award winner Pakistani botanist and researcher Prof Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari, KU faculty members, employees, staff, students, and others welcome the fresh batch of students and their parents at the campus main gate.

The University of Karachi celebrated the Youm-e-Jamia (University Day) by reliving the historic procession of one of the largest public sector universities when the newly enrolled students and alumni along with the KU VC Prof Dr Khalid Iraqi, registrar, deans of all faculties, members of Senate and Syndicate, chairpersons and directors of various departments, research centers and institutes, and faculty members and employees, and new students followed the Huffaz-e-Quran, who were reciting the Holy Quran, and stepped inside the campus from the Silver Jubilee Gate and gathered at the ground adjacent to the New Administration Building.

A large number of students, and parents attended the grand central orientation ceremony which was held adjacent to the KU New Administration Building.

On this occasion, the renowned scientist Prof Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari said that he had never witnessed such a welcome at any university in the country.

“I have never seen the warm welcome given to these newcomers in my whole life. The tradition of gathering at the main gate of the campus and entering inside it while reciting the Holy Book.”

Dr. Shinwari said if a person wants to see a whole country in one place then he/she visit the KU. Addressing the newcomers, he said that you guys are lucky that despite having such a large population of Karachi, you guys got admission to the University of Karachi, the biggest university in the country.
