After weeks of hints and leaks, Realme has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming 12 Pro series of smartphones. The global debut of these Redmi series competitors is scheduled for January 29, as disclosed in a new teaser poster.
Realme has offered a glimpse of the upcoming Realme 12 Pro+ in its launch date poster, highlighting its distinctive periscope telephoto camera. The brand has also reiterated that the Realme 12 Pro series will feature the impressive Sony IMX890 50-megapixel camera.
With the launch date just two weeks away, fans can expect more detailed information about the Realme 12 Pro lineup to be disclosed by the brand in the coming weeks.
According to reports, both the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ will share the same primary camera, featuring an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens. However, differences emerge in the telephoto department, with the 12 Pro boasting a 32MP telephoto camera offering 2x optical zoom and its Pro+ counterpart equipped with an OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera supporting 3x optical zoom.
Taking things a step further, the Realme 12 Pro+ supports up to 6x lossless zoom and an impressive 120x digital zoom capability.
For selfies, the 12 Pro comes with a 16 MP front camera, while the 12 Pro+ is armed with a more powerful 32 MP selfie snapper.
Distinct processors power the Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+, with the former featuring the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and the latter equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip. Both devices are expected to boast a 5,000 mAh battery with remarkable 67W fast charging capabilities. In the global market, these models are likely to offer users up to 12 GB of RAM and storage options of up to 256 GB.
The Realme 12 Pro series boasts a 6.7-inch curved-edge AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Operating on the Realme UI 5-based Android 14, these devices prioritize security with an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
For aesthetics, the 12 Pro models will be available in eye-catching color options, including Submarine Blue and a unique “Navigator” shade. Additionally, Realme 12 Pro+ will introduce an exclusive Explorer Red edition, catering to diverse style preferences among users.
