PM, Chairman Senate discuss overall political situation

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and discussed with him the overall political situation in the country.

The meeting also discussed progress of development projects in Balochistan.

The Chairman Senate paid tribute to PM Shehbaz Sharif on the restoration of work at Dalbandin Airport in Balochistan on an emergency basis.

He also lauded the efforts of the prime minister and his economic team for materialization of deal with International Monetary Fund.

Separately, Federal Minister for Education and Technical Training Rana Tanvir Hussain called on the prime minister and discussed with him political matters.

He also updated the prime minister about the professional issues related to his ministry.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow over sudden death of PML-N leader Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry’s son who died in a road accident here on Monday night.

The prime minister, in a statement issued by the PM office, offered his heartfelt condolence and sympathies to the bereaved family of late Anza Tariq.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

He also prayed for grant of eternal peace to the departed soul.

Meanwhile, in his tweet, the prime minister said that for parents, nothing was more heart shattering than losing a child.

Lahore: The Istehkam e Pakistan Party (IPP) has requested the election symbol of Eagle (Shaheen) from the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The Istehkam e Pakistan Party has filed an application for registration with the Election Commission of Pakistan and has also submitted an application for an election symbol.

The Istehkam e Pakistan Party has asked the Election Commission for the election symbol of Eagle (Shaheen).

IPP Chairman Jahangir Tareen, Aleem Khan will be the President, the documents signed by Aleem Khan have been submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Party manifesto and declaration of party officials have also been submitted by IPP to Election Commission.

KARACHI: The students of Dow International Medical College(DIMC) approached the Sindh High Court against the collection of fees in dollars by the university administration.

However, Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry said that the court cannot issue a stay order on it at this time.

According to the details, on the issue of Dow International Medical College charging fees in dollars, the students approached the Sindh High Court(SHC) against charging fees in dollars.

The lawyer petitioner Shahab Sarki said that the fee challan was started from 1.5 million and now it has been increased to 3.2 million. The university is in Pakistan and students are being charged in dollars.

The lawyer said that the university is C category, in one month someone has been given a challan of 3.2 million and someone has been given a challan of 2.8 million. Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry said that still there are fewer fees in the country compared with other countries.

Shahab Sarki Advocate said that it is in the regulation that they cannot increase their fees, on which the court issued a notice to the parties for July 26.

Justice Adnan Iqbal said, “If you(students) want to fill the challan, fill it, you will see later if it is illegal, then you will return the money, to which the petitioner’s lawyer said that we cannot afford the fee.”
