She is also set to make her Telugu debut in the movie “Devara,” alongside Junior NTR and Saif Ali Khan, directed by Koratala Siva and slated for an April 5 release next year. Varun Dhawan Reveals About His Silent Start With Jhanvi On Bawaal Set

Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are preparing for the release of their upcoming film Bawaal, helmed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film’s highly anticipated trailer was recently launched at an event in Dubai. Upon their return to Mumbai, Varun and Janhvi were spotted together at the airport, displaying a friendly camaraderie. However, it may come as a surprise that Varun Dhawan intentionally refrained from talking to Janhvi Kapoor during the initial month of the film’s shoot.

In an interview, Varun shared that he devised a plan to limit his communication with Janhvi during the early stages of filming. He believed that an instant friendship might develop between them. “Because I felt we’ll become friends like this (snaps). I said let me not and let me be a little aloof, a little cold. I’ll talk to everyone else but her, and purposely. I felt it might evoke something in her and something in me when we were doing scenes of that nature,” explained Varun. He mentioned that Nitesh Tiwari, the director, supported this approach.

Varun Dhawan acknowledged that this tactic was beneficial for both of them, as their characters in the film gradually get to know each other. He eventually revealed the reason behind his distant behaviour to Janhvi, who then understood the purpose behind it. “And then eventually, I told her after 20 days. Then she realized it, otherwise, she took it personally. See, I did it selfishly but I think it helped both of us at that time. Actually, in the film, how gradually the couple got to know each other, we also got to know each other gradually, which was interesting,” shared Varun.

Nitesh Tiwari, the director of Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, has clarified that the film’s plot is not related to Hitler. Following the trailer launch, the film faced controversy due to perceived references to World War II and Hitler.

In order to provide clarity, director Nitesh explained, “When creating a character, you can delve into events and incidents that play a significant role in shaping the overall development of that character and their relationships in general.”

He emphasized that the film encompasses more than just Hitler, stating, “There are many more things that you may not have seen in the trailer. Every incident has been carefully chosen to have an impact on the overall narrative.”

Nitesh further elaborated on the inclusion of specific instances from the war and the necessity of incorporating Hitler. He highlighted the enormity of World War II and the need to select events that would have an impact on the characters’ journeys.

“World War II is vast, and there is so much that happened. It is impossible to include everything. You have to pick and choose things that would potentially affect the characters’ journeys, and that is why it has been used as a backdrop.”

Nitesh Tiwari added, “Hitler is also a part of it, and you cannot exclude him from a story set during World War II.”

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Bawaal is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on July 21, according to reports.

Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan Create Magic in ‘Bawaal’ Teaser

Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan’s highly anticipated joint venture, the film “Bawaal,” has unveiled its official teaser, courtesy of the film’s makers.

The teaser introduces Varun and Janhvi as a couple deeply entangled in a complicated love story. Spanning 1 minute and 24 seconds, the snippet begins with Janhvi, exuding confidence, striding through a wardrobe shop in a striking red gown with a thigh-high slit. Upon catching sight of her, Varun, playing the role of a history teacher named Ajay, instantly falls head over heels in love with her.

However, as the teaser progresses, their seemingly idyllic love story takes a tumultuous turn. Unfortunate circumstances force the lovers apart, and Janhvi realizes the true strength and depth of their relationship. She reflects, “I took so long to understand the value of our bond, only to realize it was time to let go.”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, renowned for his hit films “Dangal” and “Chhichhore,” “Bawaal” promises an emotional rollercoaster. The film explores the consequences of Ajay’s misguidance as a history teacher, leading to chaos and upheaval.

Shot extensively in picturesque locations including Poland, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Warsaw, and Lucknow, “Bawaal” is set to premiere directly on Amazon Prime on July 21. Audiences can expect a tragic love story woven against a backdrop of captivating locales and intense emotions.

‘Expected Bhediya to do numbers than it did’ says, Varun Dhawan

After 10 years as an actor in the business, Varun Dhawan has a mixed outlook for 2022. Both of his movies, Jugjugg Jeeyo and Bhediya, didn’t do as well as one might have thought before they came out. Raj Mehta’s film Jugjugg Jeeyo was about marriage, divorce, and hard family relationships. In Bhediya, he turned into a werewolf.

But the actor says that these are the movies that give him the most creative satisfaction. Varun’s life slowed down a bit during the lockdown, when only Coolie No. 1, which was directed by his filmmaker father David Dhawan, was available on Prime Video in December 2020. In an interview, the actor said, “When the lockdown happened, I hit a roadblock. I was burnt out. I felt my choices have to be films that I am [creatively] satisfied with. [The reason to do them] should not be that I have dates available.” He added, “I waited a long time to sign Jugjugg Jeeyo, Bhediya, and Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal. So, 2022 has been one of the most satisfying years creatively. As an actor, I am the proudest of these three films.”

But he did say that he thought the horror comedy Bhediya would do better at the box office than it did. The last movie in this genre that director Amar Kaushik made, Stree (2018), was a surprise hit. In an interview Varun said,  “It has been such a strange year, [with films] trying to get people back to theatres I expected Bhediya to do [better box-office] numbers than it did. Having said that, I am grateful that people have seen the film in cinemas, and its [collection] is higher than that of many. It tells you that you should try and do better.”
