PTA announces new deadline for VPN registration

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) are used to mask users’ online identities and encrypt internet communications.
PTA has instructed internet users to register VPNs by June 30, 2020.
The telecom regulator stated that the exercise was being carried out to support legitimate ICT services in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has reiterated its warning that it is against PTA rules to use any kind of communication, including Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) that make communication secret or encrypted.

The regulator announced that it had streamlined the registration process in a public notice.

It stated that in order to prevent interruption, governmental and commercial sector companies, foreign missions, and independent contractors must register their VPNs by October 31.

Applications for registration will only be accepted online, according to the announcement.

VPNs are used to mask users’ online identities and encrypt internet communications.

This makes it more challenging for other parties to monitor a user’s online activities or steal data, claims cybersecurity firm Kaspersky Lab.

PTA has instructed internet users to register VPNs by June 30, 2020, back in 2020.

The telecom regulator stated at the time that the exercise was being carried out to support legitimate ICT services in Pakistan and to guarantee the security of telecom consumers.

PTA claims that the procedure for registering VPNs is not brand-new and has been popular since 2010.

Following the death of his beloved mother, Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s new monarch, King Charles III, made reference to his son Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, in his first address to the nation.

Judi James, an author, and body language specialist examined King Charles’ actions and expressions during the address and stated that he displayed evidence of regret when he referenced the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The next king, 73, expressed his want to “convey my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to establish their lives overseas.”

Charles’ remark regarding the Sussexes produced a pause, according to James.

Some British reviewers have branded The Crown “false history” and “inaccurate,” and the UK government has even requested that Netflix notify viewers about the show’s bogus storytelling.
