COVID Surge: Sindh govt decides to shut Restaurants

The Sindh government has on Wednesday decided to shut primary schools, indoor dine-in, parks, and other amusement places in the wake of growing COVID-19 cases in the province.

The decision to close indoor dine-in and schools was taken by the provincial COVID task force meeting headed by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah today.

According to decisions taken by the meeting, the indoor dine-in will remain closed from tomorrow (Thursday) night besides also closing down schools until class eight from Friday.

Schools for classes till Grade VIII will be closed from Friday while classes from 9th and above will be closed except for examination.

During the meeting, the chief minister expressed concern over the worsening situation of COVID-19 in Sindh where the positivity ratio has increased distinctly during the past few days.

It was also decided to impose a ban on indoor restaurants, amusement parks, water parks, tourists spots, cinemas, gyms and indoor games from Friday, July 16.

Earlier, the Federal Minister for Planning and Development and chairman of the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) Asad Umar had said that there are clear early signs of the 4th wave of coronavirus starting in the country.

In a tweet, Asad Umar said: “2 weeks back I had tweeted that our artificial intelligence models are showing possible emergence of 4th wave. Now there are clear early signs of the 4th wave starting. Poor sop compliance, coupled with the spread of variants of concern, Indian variant, in particular, are the main cause.”

“Field reports are showing a complete disregard of the condition of vaccination for those attending indoor weddings and going to indoor restaurants & gyms. If the owners of these facilities do not show responsibility & ensure compliance, there will be no choice but to shut them down,” he said.

Pakistan Coronavirus Update

Twenty-four more deaths due to Coronavirus and 1980 new positive cases of the infection have been reported in the country.

According to NCOCe, 47,472 tests were conducted while the positivity ratio remained four point one seven percent.

The death toll due to the pandemic in the country has touched 22,642.

The Law Minister said this mechanism is working successfully in Islamabad and one will also see its benefits reaching the millions of people of Punjab. He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also passed this law.

Dia Mirza Announces Birth Of baby boy Three Months After Her Marriage

Bollywood’s iconic actress Dia Mirza has announced the birth of her baby boy, whom she had welcomed in the month of May.

Dia Mirza and her husband Vaibhav Rekhi shared the happy news of their baby boy’s arrival after two months. They named him Avyaan Azaad.

The actress took to her Instagram and penned a detailed note expressing her true emotions with a quote by Elizabeth Stone and wrote: “To have a child is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”

Mirza revealed that their son was born premature and is being taken care of since then at a hospital.

“These words perfectly exemplify Vaibhav and my feelings right now. Our heartbeat, our son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi was born on May 14th. Having arrived early, our little miracle has since then been cared for by tireless nurses and doctors in the Neonatal ICU,” she wrote.

“A sudden appendectomy during my pregnancy and a subsequent and very severe bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life-threatening. Thankfully, the timely care and intervention by our doctor ensured the safe birth of our baby via an emergency C-section,” the actress added.

She also added a thank you note for her well-wishers and family members.

Soon after the joyful news broke out, several Bollywood celebs jumped in to congratulate Mirza and extended well-wishes for the newborn.

Dia Mirza married businessman Vaibhav Rekhi in a private ceremony in February this year. Dia Mirza was earlier married to Sahil Sangha. She is best known for starring in films such as Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Tehzeeb, Koi Mere Dil Mein Hai, Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Sanjay Dutt’s biopic titled Sanju. She was last seen in Anubhav Sinha’s critically acclaimed film Thappad.

Two security personnel embrace martyrdom In Kurram District Operation

Two Pakistan Army soldiers, including an officer, embraced martyrdom while three others sustained injuries during clashes with militants in the Zewa area of Kurram tribal district on Tuesday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), three militants were killed during an operation conducted in the Kurram district after receiving information about their presence.

The ISPR said that Captain Basit Ali, 25, and Sepoy Hazrat Bilal, 22, were martyred in an exchange of fire with the militants.

Captain Basit belonged to Haripur district and Sepoy Bilal hailed from Orakzai tribal district.

The officials said that three other soldiers of Frontier Corps sustained wounds.

Paramilitary forces were conducting the operation in the mountainous area in the east of Parachinar to find five kidnapped workers of a cellular company.

The encounter between the security personnel and the militants occurred on Monday.

The ISPR said that a cordon and search operation were in progress in the area to eliminate other militants.

Security forces had conducted multiple operations against militants and the area was de-notified as a conflict zone in 2011.

Earlier, a Pakistan Army soldier embraced martyrdom and two terrorists were killed in a gunfight between security forces and Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP), the military’s media wing.

According to the statement by ISPR, the Pakistan Army soldier, identified as Nazakat Khan, 32, resident of Attock, lost his life during the operation.

The terrorists gunned down by security forces were active members of the TTP in the area, ISPR said.

The soldiers conducted an Intelligence Based Operations (IBO) in Spinwam, North Waziristan on the reported presence of terrorists.
