Sarfaraz Ahmed Quetta Gladiators’ captain on Thursday told Shaheen Shah Afridi Lahore Qalanders’ pacer to let bygones be bygones and bury the hatchet, following an on-field spat between the two earlier this week.

Sarfaraz was responding to a regret tweet by Shaheen, in which he said that he had acted in the heat of the moment and that he should have stayed quiet out of respect for the skipper.

Shaheen wrote, “Saifi bhai is the pride of all of us. He was and will always remain a captain for me. Whatever happened in the game that day was the heat of the moment. On this Sarfaraz replied to him through his tweeter account and praise him.

He wrote, “It’s all good bro. Whatever happened in the field it should stay in the field,”

He added, “You are the star of Pakistan too.”

He concluded, “May Allah give you more success in life. You are [a] little brother to me. All is well,”

 

 

Earlier, It happened during the match played between Lahore Qalandar and Quetta Gladiators, where Shaheen Shah first throws a bouncer toward Sarfaraz and afterward insulted him, to which Sarfraz replied with a six.

FM Qureshi, Abdullah Abdullah Discuss the way forward for Afghan peace process

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with the head of the Afghan High Peace Council, Abdullah Abdullah on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

During the meeting with Abdullah Abdullah, Qureshi reaffirmed the policy of engagement across the board with Afghan political leadership to forge a deeper mutual understanding of bilateral relations and the peace process.

Both the leaders also shared their hope for Afghanistan’s leaders to expedite progress in Intra-Afghan Negotiations for lasting peace.

The foreign minister will meet the Afghan leaders on the margins of the forum to discuss the way forward for the Afghan peace process.

Earlier in the day, Shah Mahmood Qureshi has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

He was talking to Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Riyad Al Maliki on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey.

Qureshi underscored the importance of a two-state solution to the Palestine issue, based on pre-1967 borders under the relevant UNSC resolutions for sustainable peace in the region.

He also expressed strong concerns about the latest Israeli strikes against Gaza after the recent ceasefire.

The Palestinian Foreign Minister briefed Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the latest situation in Palestinian Occupied Territories.

FM Qureshi also extended an invitation to the Palestinian Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan.

Moreover, the two-day Antalya Diplomacy Forum begins in the Turkish city of Antalya today (Friday).

The Foreign Minister Qureshi will highlight Pakistan’s vision for regional cooperation, economic development and connectivity there.

The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavusoglu has invited him to the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

On the sidelines, FM Qureshi will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and key regional and international partners.

The political leaders, diplomats, thinkers, and academia will address important thematic and international issues at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

The theme of the Forum is ‘Innovative Diplomacy: New Era, New Approaches’.

KP Budget 2021-22: Cabinet Approves 25% hike in salaries For Govt. Employees

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet headed by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Friday approved the provincial budget 2021-22, proposing a rise in salaries by 25% for government employees.

According to details, the budget 2021-22 proposals were presented before the provincial cabinet for discussion and after its approval from KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

The overall outlay for the KP budget is estimated at Rs1.118 trillion with Rs316 billion earmarked for the development portfolio. An amount of Rs250 billion was earmarked for the ‘Bandobasti’ districts of the province.

According to a previous report, an increase of 25% salaries of the government employees from grade 1 to 19 has been proposed in the KP budget, while 10% raise has been proposed for the government employees of above grade 19.

The minimum wage of workers would be increased to Rs21,000.

The government has allotted funds for Rescue 1122 new ambulances while the government will also declare the recruitment of new teachers in the budget 2021-22.

KP Government has achieved the yearly target of own-source revenue; a target of 50 Billion has been achieved. KPRA, Excise & Taxation, Board of Revenue, Mines & Minerals and other revenue collecting departments performed well.

Moreover, KP has successfully outsourced eight hospitals, which are providing the best healthcare services to the people in tribal districts. In today’s budget, the government will announce more hospitals that will be outsourced in tribal and settled districts.

On the other hand, Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra has presented the budgetary proposals for the fiscal year 2021-22 in the provincial assembly.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has visited the Dasu Hydropower Project today (Friday) and said that industrialization will greatly contribute to the progress of the country through wealth creation.

While speaking to foreign engineers during his visit to the Dasu Hydropower Project, the Prime Minister said that Dasu Dam will produce low-cost clean energy that will assist to reduce inflation and promote industrialization in the country.

He said hydropower generation should have been given priority to produce cheap electricity. He said costly electricity causes inflation.

Imran Khan said he would appreciate the workers and consultants working on this complex project.

Phase one of Dasu Dam will be completed by 2025, which will add 2160 megawatts of electricity to the national grid. This capacity will increase to 4320 megawatts with the completion of its second phase by 2029.
