Karachi’s largest Dolmen Mall located at Tariq Road has been sealed for violating Coronavirus standard operating procedure (SOPs) issued by the health ministry.

According to the details, Dolmen Mall authority has faced a huge fine of Rs 50,000 for risking lives of people amidst the second wave.

According to the new SOPs, markets and business will be allowed to run from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays and remain closed on weekends.

Sindh Home Department said that all cinemas, shrines, and gyms will be closed. Only essential services will stay open on weekends. The relevant deputy commissioners have been directed to ensure compliance with the orders.

Moreover, the notification was issued to make wearing masks a mandatory thing in private offices and public places. The government and private offices would only allow 50 percent of employees to work from office while the remaining staff will work from home on the basis of regular rotations.

Outdoor weddings are restricted to 200 guests, while weddings indoor are banned. Also, indoor dining in restaurants have been banned from 24th November and only takeaways would be allowed.

Punjab government has decided to release Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Shehbaz Sahrif and son Hamza Shehbaz on parole to attend the funeral of Begum Shamim Akhtar, who passed away on Sunday morning in London.

According to the details, Punjab cabinet has approved Shehbaz and Hamza’s release for five days over the demise of Begum Shamim.

They would be released as soon as the body of Begum Shamim Akhtar would reach Pakistan from London, sources said.

Moreover, Opposition leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shehbaz have submitted applications for their release on parole to the deputy commissioners.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Ataullah Tarrar submitted the plea for release of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz on parole to attend the funeral prayers of Begum Shamim Akhtar, mother of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.

The petition sought immediate release of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz from jail to attend the funeral prayers of Begum Shamim Akhtar and to receive the people that will come from every part of the country to condole with them.

Prime Minister gives direction for Coronavirus vaccine’s production

Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Tuesday directed the health ministry to start the production of Coronavirus vaccine in Pakistan.

According to sources, the Prime Minister suggested that the ministry prepare proposals for the vaccine in consultation with all government stakeholders and the private sector.

In the letter written today (Tuesday), PM Imran also referenced his recent correspondence with the United States, stating that the country has agreed to cooperate with Pakistan in the development and production of the vaccine.

“The United States will first distribute the coronavirus vaccine among its citizens before sending it out to countries who are its allies,” the letter stated.

PM Imran Khan also directed the health ministry to immediately send him the recommendations once consultations have been carried out with all the stakeholders.

On November 21, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) had approved a technical supplementary grant worth $150 million to book coronavirus vaccines from international manufacturers.

Prime Minister calls for Castration Punishment for rapists

Earlier in a day, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided the cabinet session in Islamabad that approved castration punishment for rape convicts.

The approval was given after the law ministry presented a draft of the anti-rape ordinance. It also includes increasing women’s role in policing, fast-tracking rape cases and witness protection.

“We need to ensure a safe environment for our citizens,” the premier added.

Imran Khan said that the legislation will be transparent and clear with strict enforcement. He said the rape survivors will be able to register complaints without fear, adding that the government will protect their identity.

Furthermore, PTI Senator Faisal Javed Khan took to his Twitter handle and said that the the law will soon be presented before the Parliament.
