KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the weather will remain cold across the country while there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some areas.
According to the report of the Meteorological Department, the forecast in Islamabad will remain partly cloudy, while there is a possibility of light rain or drizzle.
On other hand, rain-thunderstorm with snow over hills is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, upper Punjab and north Balochistan during the next twelve hours.
Earlier, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and Punjab received rain and snow on the mountains, while the weather remained cold in other parts of the country.
Temperatures of some major cities recorded in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad five degree centigrade, Lahore and Karachi 11, Peshawar six, Quetta and Murree minus three and Gilgit four degree centigrade.

KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah in a presser said that in Punjab, the rainfall was 52 percent above average, whereas Sindh received 800 percent above average rain.
“The standing water is up to 3 or 4 feet in various cities of Sindh. In 24 hours, 0.9 or 1 foot of floodwater has decreased in Dadu. On the left bank, the levels are also reduced. The seventh spell of the monsoon is underway in Sindh as more rains are expected in different regions,” CM Sindh said.
Quoting the relief activities, the Chief Executive of Sindh told the media that the foreign aid received by Pakistan is distributed under the supervision of NDMA only. He said that 175,933 tents have been provided by PDMA. NDMA through the Pakistan Army provided 21,300 tents; 2586 tents were provided by the Navy, 3558 tents were provided by the Airforce; and from other sources, 1765 tents were distributed among the affected.
“Around 216,000 tents have been distributed to the flood-affected till now. The total requirement for tents is 1.5 million in the province,” he said.
Moreover, 149,060 tarpaulins have also been distributed, which work similarly to tents given by PDMA. 26,000 were given by the Pakistan Army. A total of 1,85561 tents were provided along with the help of various sources. More than 1.5 million mosquito nets were provided, according to Murad Ali Shah.
“A total of 36,000 ration bags were distributed, 7500 by NDMA, and 42,256 rations have also been distributed by NDMA.”

KARACHI: After heavy spells of rain in the metropolitan city, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced light showers and drizzles are to be expected throughout the city, BOL News reported on Saturday.
According to the meteorological department, the minimum temperature in the city recorded was 27 Degree Celcius. The humidity in the air was recorded as up to 88 percent. PMD also mentioned that the maximum temperature to reach on Saturday would be around 35 Degree Celcius. The weather is mostly cloudy as Southwest wind blowing at a speed of 22 km/h in the city.
Another spell of torrential rains is expected in the city and throughout Sindh from August 23. The rainy clouds will hover over the city till August 26, as per the details mentioned by the meteorological department.

Between September 9 and 10 more rain is expected along with winds and thunderstorms in Karachi, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted.
Sardar Sarfraz, Director of PMD Karachi stated that a different low-pressure climate system has been established in the Bay of Bengal.
The official stated, “The rain-bearing system is moving towards the west and it could cause rains in Karachi and other parts of Sindh between Thursday and Friday,”
The most recent rains system’s effects can be perceived in Sindh and northern parts of the country, he said, adding a new low-pressure climate system in the Bay of Bengal might be made after September 10.
For now, the met office allotted a weather alert in view of the predictable heavy rains in the country.
The met office stated, “Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country.”
“Monsoon currents likely to reach upper and central parts of the country from Tuesday and may persist during the week,” read the announcement.

Further monsoon flows are expected to penetrate the country from September 7 and to be expected to remain till September 11, said the met office.
Under the impact of this weather system, rain-wind-thundershower is predictable in Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Abbottabad, Peshawar, and other cities of the country with rare gaps.
Dir, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Islamabad, Jhelum, Lahore, and Kasur, in these areas Heavy falls are predictable from September 8 to 10.
Whereas, Rain-wind-thunderstorm is as well expected in Zhob, Musa Khel, Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat, and different parts of Sindh from September 8 to 10.
The met office cautioned that wind-storm might cause harm to the susceptible structures and heavy rainfall may cause urban flooding in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Lahore throughout the period.
The met office too directed all the concerned authorities to stay attentive throughout the prediction period.
