Karachi: Last night, the temperature broke a 5-year record for August when the residents of the city witnessed the coldest night of the month in 5 years.

The temperature drop followed the intense monsoon spell of this year.

According to the meteorological department, the port city reported a temperature of 23.5°C — at least — marking the coldest night of August in Karachi since 2019.

Before 2019, the lowest temperature recorded for August was 20°C in the year 1984.

KARACHI: A tragic incident happened in the vicinity of Malir where a car with seven people drowned in the Malir river and went missing on Wednesday night, BOL News reported.

According to the details, the rescue workers in the area have been able to recover the drowned car from the Malir river, but there is no sign of survivors as the rescue worker official told BOL New that every passenger in the car has drowned due to the flood in the river.

After recovering the car from the river bank, the workers are still locating any survivors or dead bodies that may have drowned last night.

According to the report, the rescue team claimed that the incident happened due to the strong current in the Malir river, which swept away the family of seven. According to the officials, a driver with a husband and wife along with four children were traveling on the Malir river link road.
