Bilawal Bhutto decided to vacate NA-196 Qambar Shahdadkot seat

Bilawal Bhutto vows to address business community’s concerns

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto has decided to vacate NA 196 Qambar Shahdadkot’s seat.

Sources said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will vacate the National Assembly Constituency NA-196 Qambar Shahdadkot seat while he will retain the NA-194 Larkana seat.

It should be noted that Bilawal Bhutto was elected Member of the National Assembly from two seats in the general elections held on February 8.

On the other hand, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced legal proceedings against those who accused him of fraud.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari put all the form 45 of his constituency in front of the public and said that according to the form 47, he got 135,112 votes which is an advantage of more than 100,000 over my opponent.

ISLAMABAD: The leadership of Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) started consultation for the nomination of Chairman Senate.

Earlier, matters were settled between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) for government formation in the federation and the provinces.

According to the sources, the Chairman Senate will be from PPP and the Deputy Chairman will be from PML-N while the Speaker of the National Assembly will be from PML-N and the Deputy Speaker will be from PPP.

Sources said that the Chief Minister of Balochistan will be from the Pakistan People’s Party while the PML-N and the PPP will form the government together.

Sources said that former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani is the most favorite candidate for Senate Chairman.

LAHORE: The parliamentary session of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been convened on  tomorrow (February 21) to form a government in Punjab.

According to sources, a meeting was held in Jati Umra under the chairmanship of PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz, in which it was decided to convene a meeting of the parliamentary party on February 21.

Sources say that the party’s nominated Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz will preside over the meeting.

Nawaz Sharif seeks PPP support for formation of government

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif invited the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), independent candidates, and other political parties to sit together for the country.

Addressing the workers, he said that the PML-N has emerged as the largest party in the general elections and we must take this country out of the crises.

He said that PML-N respects the mandate of the parties and parties respect everyone whether it is a party or independent people. He invited independent candidates to come and sit with us to get Pakistan out of its difficulties, our agenda is only and Only Pakistan is prosperous.

He said that you know who has done what for this country and how PML-N got out of the economic difficulties and fixed the economy.

The former prime minister said that politicians, parliament, Pakistan forces, and media should all play a positive role.  He said at least ten years are needed for stability in the country and added that Pakistan cannot afford any war at this time.

Nawaz Sharif announced the formation of a coalition government in the absence of a simple majority and said that we do not want to compare with anyone.

KARACHI: Former President and Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)  Asif Ali Zardari left for Islamabad.

According to Zardari House sources, the former president has left Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) for Islamabad after voting in the general elections today.

Earlier, while talking to the media in Shaheed Benazirabad  on the occasion of voting, Asif Zardari said that the future of the PPP is bright and it is hoped that the PPP will clean sweep the election.

He said that the People’s Party has given a people-friendly manifesto and no other party has given people-friendly manifesto.

PPP demands restoration of internet, mobile phone services

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) has lodged complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner against internet and mobile phone network service across the country on the general elections day.

In a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, PPP leader Taj Haider said that the Pakistan People’s Party is concerned about the recent unannounced disruptions in internet and mobile network connectivity across Pakistan, which is adversely affecting the general elections in the country.

The voters are unable to access their polling station information or coordinate logistics to access polling stations due to widespread disruption.

The letter further stated that the shutdown of network services has created problems for voters, candidates and election staff while mobile network disruption will also affect voter turnout.

The mobile network for election day is important and PPP urged the ECP to take immediate action to restore mobile network and internet connectivity to ensure free and fair elections.

Child injured in political parties clash dies in JPMC

KARACHI: A child who was injured during a clash between two political parties in New Karachi a couple of days ago died at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

The hospital administration, 11-year-old Abdul Rehman, who was injured in the firing, was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the JPMC.

The hospital administration said that the condition of the injured child was critical for two days and he died today.

On the other hand, no arrest has been made so far in the incident of clash between two political parties in New Karachi Sector 11 J.

The case was registered in the complaint of Muhammad Shahid, in which 5 to 6 alleged political workers are named while 5 to 6 unknown persons are also included.

The police said that raids were conducted at different places to arrest the accused, but the workers of both the political parties named in the cases are still absconding.

ECP takes notice for violation of code of conduct

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken notice of the violations of the code of conduct during the ongoing election campaign and imposed penalties on several candidates.

“The District Monitoring Officer in Kohat took action against violation of election code of conduct and punished various candidates,” the spokesman of ECP told media.

The spokesperson said an independent candidate Noor Aslam Afridi, contesting from National Assembly constituency NA-35, was fined Rs 5,000 while another independent candidate Fawadullah Khan Afridi from the same constituency was fined Rs 10,000.

He said that Awami National Party (ANP) candidate for provincial assembly Yaqoob Khan fined Rs 5,000. Additionally, independent candidate Janidullah Afridi from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was also fined Rs 10,000.

The spokesman said that the monitoring teams in different districts have removed illegal campaign hoardings, banners and other election promotion material.

PPP unveils party manifesto for general elections

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) announced its manifesto, presenting its plans for the people of Pakistan if it assumes power after a victory in the upcoming general elections on February 8.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari shared the PPP manifesto, named “Chuno Nai Soch Ko” (Choose new thinking), directing his followers to visit a website to access the document.

“The PPP is the only party with a plan to combat poverty, unemployment & inflation,” he wrote in his post on X.

On the other hand,  Vice President of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Senator Sherry Rehman, unveiled the party manifesto for the 2024 general elections, focusing on economic uplift, climate resilience, and all-inclusive development, ending poverty while simultaneously empowering women.

The former Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination and the PPP Vice President held a media briefing here at the Party Office, flanked by Senior PPP Leader and former Chairman of the Senate, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari.

Senator Rehman underlined that the economic instability and recurrent climate catastrophes have further plummeted the financial strength of the masses, who were getting poorer day by day. She said the PPP was advocating for progressive taxation and public welfare and believed in inclusive growth-promoting partnerships.

“Our farmers are devastated and are becoming impoverished. Natural disasters have devastated the country, but no one is talking about it. The PPP has the same vision, as it has rolled out climate-resilient housing for the flood-affected in Sindh with the ownership of women. Women are being empowered through increased social security safety nets through BISP,” she said.

LAHORE:  Chairman Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto proposed to make Asif Zardari the President of Pakistan.

Pakistan People’s Party has started considering nominating Asif Zardari as the next President of Pakistan.

In this regard, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto put forward the proposal of making Asif Zardari the President of Pakistan.

Bilawal Bhutto said, “We should learn from the experience of Asif Zardari, there is a desire that once again Asif Zardari becomes the President of Pakistan”.

ECP unveils final list of minority seats in National Assembly

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has unveiled the ultimate compilation of ten minority seats within the National Assembly.

The final list consists of candidates from different parties, with 10 representing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), 5 from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), 2 from Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP), 7 from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), 4 from Jamaat-e-Islami, and 3 from Mutahidda Quomi Movement (MQM).

Earlier, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has frozen the development funds of all local government departments.

According to the notification issued by the ECP, the development funds of the local government departments have been frozen until the announcement of the results of the general elections.

The notification states that the local governments will only carry out the day-to-day affairs of sanitation and cleanliness, but no local development scheme will be announced or worked on.

KARACHI : Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned an attack on the PPP election office in Lahore and the firing at the Party’s corner meeting in Karachi.

He said that targeting the election office of PP 162 candidate Manzar Abbas Khokhar with a petrol bomb in Lahore was an open terrorism.

The PPP Chairman, in a Bilawal House communique, said that Lahore Police was not registering FIR of the attack on the election office of the provincial candidate of his constituency NA-127 in Satookatla. He said that the shots were fired at the corner meeting of jiyala candidate Agha Rafiullah in Malir.

Bilawal also expressed his best wishes for the recovery of two jiyalas and two supporters, who were injured in the firing at the corner meeting of NA-230 candidate Agha Rafiullah.

Targeting the election campaign of Pakistan Peoples Party candidates in Lahore and Karachi was worrying, he said adding that the political opponents had resorted to new tactics on being disappointed by the expected victory of the Pakistan People’s Party.
