Chief of South African National Defence Forces General Rudzani Maphwanya called on Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi in Islamabad here on Thursday.

During the meeting, the Naval Chief and the visiting dignitary discussed the regional maritime security situations and matters of mutual interests.

The Naval Chief briefed the visiting dignitary about Pakistan Navy’s role in regional peace and security.

The Chief of South African National Defence Forces commended Pakistan Navy’s efforts for maritime security.

Earlier, the CNS Niazi had visited Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air War College, Karachi to pay rich tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the defence of the country.

On the occasion, Pakistan Navy Chief had emphasized to keep abreast with emerging trends to deal with a dynamic security environment.

He had added that no force could achieve success in today’s warfare without ‘jointness’ in Military Operations.

CNS Niazi had also highlighted that PN is always ready to tackle maritime security challenges faced by the country. He had also interacted with foreign officers undergoing a course at Air War College.

Previously, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu had visited Naval Headquarters (NHQ) today and called on CNS Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi.

Air Chief Zaheer Ahmed had laid a floral wreath at Shuhada Monument and was introduced to Principal Staff Officers at NHQ.

Niazi had also facilitated the Air Chief on assuming Command of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and said that Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force will continue endeavours to enhance synergy and seamless integration in related matters.

CAS Zaheer Babar also assured PAF’s full support and pledged to work together in making the defence of the country impregnable.

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi held a meeting with Chief of Defence Forces Kenya General Robert Kariuki Kibochi at the Naval Headquarters (NHQ) today.

CNS Niazi and the visiting dignitary discussed matters of mutual interest and bilateral collaboration.

Upon his arrival, the Kenya General was presented the Guard of Honour and introduced to Principal Staff Officers.

Earlier, the Naval Chief urged all the maritime stakeholders to join efforts in promoting awareness regarding the importance of hydrography and its related activities.

In his message on World Hydrography Day, he said Pakistan Navy celebrates this day every year to underscore the importance of hydrography towards its share in all marine and maritime-related activities which are eventually contributing to our national economy.

The Naval Chief elaborated that Pakistan is blessed with over 1000 kms of coastline along with 240,000 Sq kms of sea area within its Exclusive Economic Zone.

Previously, the Chief of Naval Staff held a meeting with Commander Azerbaijan Naval Forces Rear Admiral Subhan Bekirov.

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi held a meeting with Commander Azerbaijan Naval Forces Rear Admiral Subhan Bekirov here on Tuesday (today).

During the meeting at the Naval Headquarters (NHQ), matters of mutual interest and regional security were discussed between CNS Niazi and the Commander of Azerbaijan Naval Forces.

Earlier in the day, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi shared a message on the occasion of  World Oceans Day 2021.

The message by the Pakistan Navy read, “World Oceans Day is celebrated globally to highlight the significance of oceans and to promote awareness for the sustainable use of oceans and marine resources.

This year’s theme is, ‘Innovation for a Sustainable Ocean’. Oceans are an essential component of the earth’s ecosystem and sustainable oceans are critical for the sustenance of life on earth. As the challenges to the oceans continue to grow, so does the need for novel solutions to fight these challenges.”

The purpose of observing this day is to inform the public of the impact of human actions on oceans and mobilize global efforts for sustainable management of the world’s oceans. It is a day to join hands and pledge for making coordinated efforts to protect our oceans from various types of threats.

In line with the spirit of celebrating World Oceans Day, Pakistan Navy is playing a leading role in promoting safe and sustainable use of ocean resources. Some of the major PN initiatives undertaken over the years include beach cleaning, construction of harbour debris collection boats, Mangroves plantation, banning the use of destructive fishing nets, tackling oil pollution at sea and coordination with the industrial community to reduce waste dumping into the sea.
