Chief of South African National Defence Forces Calls On CNS Niazi Today

Naval Chief meets Chief of South African National Defence Forces

Chief of South African National Defence Forces General Rudzani Maphwanya called on Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi in Islamabad here on Thursday.

During the meeting, the Naval Chief and the visiting dignitary discussed the regional maritime security situations and matters of mutual interests.

The Naval Chief briefed the visiting dignitary about Pakistan Navy’s role in regional peace and security.

The Chief of South African National Defence Forces commended Pakistan Navy’s efforts for maritime security.

Earlier, the CNS Niazi had visited Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air War College, Karachi to pay rich tribute to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the defence of the country.

On the occasion, Pakistan Navy Chief had emphasized to keep abreast with emerging trends to deal with a dynamic security environment.

He had added that no force could achieve success in today’s warfare without ‘jointness’ in Military Operations.

CNS Niazi had also highlighted that PN is always ready to tackle maritime security challenges faced by the country. He had also interacted with foreign officers undergoing a course at Air War College.

Previously, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu had visited Naval Headquarters (NHQ) today and called on CNS Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi.

Air Chief Zaheer Ahmed had laid a floral wreath at Shuhada Monument and was introduced to Principal Staff Officers at NHQ.

Niazi had also facilitated the Air Chief on assuming Command of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and said that Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force will continue endeavours to enhance synergy and seamless integration in related matters.

CAS Zaheer Babar also assured PAF’s full support and pledged to work together in making the defence of the country impregnable.

Both CNS Niazi and the visiting dignitary discussed matters of mutual interest, bilateral collaborations and maritime security in the region.

31 Saudi officers graduate from Pakistan Naval Academy

Thirty-one Saudi officers were among the graduates of the Pakistan Naval Academy’s 115th course engaging parade in Karachi on Saturday, June 26, the Pakistan Navy said.

115th Midshipmen and 23rd SSC Course Passing Out Parade was held at Pakistan Naval Academy, Karachi. CJCSC General Nadeem Raza was the Chief Guest. Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi was also present on the occasion. The commissioning contingent also included midshipmen from Royal Saudi NF and Bahrain DF.

Located in Manora Island, Sindh Province, the Pakistan Naval Academy provides initial training to officers of the Pakistan Navy and since its establishment in 1947 has also trained some 2,000 officers of friendly countries, including many of the Royal Saudi Navy and other Gulf countries.

Moreover, CJCSC had also congratulated the newly commissioned Pakistan and foreign navy officers and underscored that Pakistan is a peaceful country and the entire nation stands united against terrorism and extremism.

“The commissioning parade comprised of 104 Pakistani, eight Bahrain Defense Force, 31 Royal Saudi Navy personnel and 83 (Pakistani) short service commission course officers,” a Pakistan Navy spokesperson told.

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, was also present during the graduation ceremony.

“This graduation is a great national achievement that will bring new, young leaders for the nation,” Al-Malki said.

The PN had been providing training to Saudi officers and sailors during the Saudi navy’s formative period between the 1970s and ’80s. Officers trained by the Pakistan Naval Academy are considered some of the most professional in the world.
