Naval Chief, Chinese Envoy Discuss maritime, regional security situation

Naval Chief meets Chinese ambassador

Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong in Islamabad here on Thursday (today).

According to the Spokesperson of the Pakistan Navy, the Naval Chief and Chinese envoy discussed matters pertaining to mutual interest and the regional security situation during the meeting.

They also expressed commitment for further enhancement of relations between the two countries and maritime security forces in particular.

The Chief of Navy Staff apprised the Ambassador on the role of the Pakistan Navy regarding maritime security.

The Chinese Ambassador acknowledged the efforts of the Pakistan Navy regarding regional maritime security.

Earlier, Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi had visited Command & Staff College, Quetta. Upon arrival, the Naval Chief was received by the Commandant, Command & Staff College, Quetta.

According to the DGPR Navy, while addressing the Staff Course participants, CNS Niazi had paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Force in defence of the country.

He had emphasized keeping abreast with the emerging trends and further make endeavours to deal with the current complex and dynamic security environment.

CNS had added that jointness remained central to the modern concept of military operations as no force could achieve success in today’s warfare single-handedly.

He had further highlighted that Pakistan Navy is always ready to tackle the maritime security challenges facing the country by active support of Sister Services.

Japanese Ambassador Calls On Naval Chief Amjad Niazi Today

Japanese Ambassador Meets Naval Chief

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi has on Tuesday exchanged views with the Ambassador of Japan at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad.

The visiting dignitary discussed bilateral relations and appreciated the tireless efforts of the Pakistan Navy in the successful conduct of the AMAN-21 Exercise and bringing world navies on one forum to achieve peace through unity.

On the other hand, Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu visited Naval Headquarters (NHQ) today and called on CNS Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi.

The Air Chief was welcomed by Naval Chief and was bestowed the Guard of Honour.

Air Chief Zaheer Ahmed laid a floral wreath at Shuhada Monument and was introduced to Principal Staff Officers at NHQ.

CNS also facilitated the Air Chief on assuming Command of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and said that Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force will continue endeavours to enhance synergy and seamless integration in related matters.

CAS Zaheer Babar also assured PAF’s full support and pledged to work together in making the defence of the country impregnable.

CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah meets Naval Chief

Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah on Monday held a meeting with Naval Chief Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi at the Chief Minister’s house.

CM Murad Ali Shah congratulated Admiral Niazi on assuming office of the Pakistan Navy as the new Chief of Naval Staff.

“It is an honour that you belong to Sanghar. Your assuming the top office of the Navy is an inspiration for youth,” talking to the Naval Chief, the Chief Minister said.

Admiral Niazi thanked the chief minister for his congratulations.

“We have to further improve the educational system,” Murad Ali Shah added.

He called for providing opportunities to the children of fishermen n in Pakistan Navy and urged for encouragement to the fishermen to join the navy.

“The fishermen have a strong bond with the sea and their relation with the navy should be strengthened,” the CM stated.

President Arif Alvi on Thursday confers Nishan-i-Imtiaz on newly-appointed Naval Chief Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi.

The award was conferred at an investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadar in Islamabad.

Earlier, President Alvi congratulated the new Naval Chief on assuming office. During the meeting, the President said that the Pakistan Navy has a key role to play in defending Pakistan’s maritime borders.

Pakistan Navy is playing an important role in safeguarding the country’s economic interests by providing security to Gwadar Port and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Furthermore, General Raza congratulated the new naval chief on assuming office and expressed satisfaction on operational preparedness of Pakistan Navy.
