KARACHI: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle arrested two suspects in Karachi.

Anti-Human Trafficking Circle raided the office of a fake travel agency in the Gulshan e Iqbal area of ​​Karachi and arrested two suspects.

FIA officials say that the arrested accused include Mohammad Raheel and Kashif Raza.

Spokesman says that 250 passports have been recovered from the possession of the accused while various fake stamps have also been recovered from the accused and a case has been registered.

According to officials, the accused have been remanded for four days, and further investigation of the incident is going on.

It should be noted that the FIA ​​Anti-Human Trafficking Circle had arrested four suspects including proclaimed offender while conducting operations in different areas of Lahore.

The ​spokesperson said that among the arrested accused are Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Rasheed, Rizwan Ali, and Imran Aslam who were wanted for the heinous crime of human trafficking.

KARACHI: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the price of electricity for Karachi by Rs 1.44 per unit.

This increase has been made in the context of the monthly fuel adjustment for May and Electricity has been made more expensive for Karachi. NEPRA has issued a notification to increase the price of electricity.

K-Electric consumers will have to pay extra in their July bills, but the recent increase will not apply to K-Electric’s Lifeline customers.

Earlier, in the current month of March, the cost of electricity was increased for the people of Karachi.

The price of 10 grams of gold is Rs 176,612 with an increase of Rs 858.

According to the association, the price of gold in the world market decreased by one dollar to 1928 dollars per ounce.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced a verdict in the alleged rigging case and ordered the recounting of the votes in six Union Councils (UCs) of Karachi.

Jamaat-e-Islami filed a petition against the alleged rigging and irregularities in Sindh Local government (LG) elections. Following the plea, the ECP directed the recounting of votes in six Union Councils (UCs).

JI had challenged the result of six UCs which include Mominabad UC-3, Manghopir UC-12, Gulshan-e-Iqbal UC-1, Orangi UC-3, 7 and 8.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Sindh High Court(SHC) served notices to parties over a petition of Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman for election in the remaining 11 union committees of Karachi.

Jamaat Islami Karachi’s chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman had filed a plea in the high court seeking an order for election in the remaining union committees of the city.

The court has summoned a reply from the respondents within 10 days.

Hafiz Naeem said that local council elections were not held at 11 seats of UC chairman and vice chairman in Karachi owing to the demise of candidates or for some other reasons.
