A man who acknowledged killing his wife at their Liverpool house has been sentenced to prison.
Mohammed Azizi, 58, of Stoneycroft, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 16 years after admitting murder at Liverpool Crown Court.
Malak Adabzadeh, an Iranian national, was discovered dead after police were called to the couple’s residence in The Green on November 25.
A post-mortem test revealed that the 47-year-old died as a result of head trauma.
Her relatives hailed Ms. Adabzadeh as “kind, friendly, and always willing to help everyone.”
“Although no sentence can ever bring Malak back, I hope that the sentence will bring some form of closure to her loved ones,” said Det Insp John Holden of Merseyside Police. Domestic violence is a horrifying and heinous crime.
“All reports are taken seriously, they will be handled sympathetically, and we will do everything in our power to bring perpetrators to justice.”
Two other guys, aged 21 and 46, who were arrested, were eventually freed with no further action.
