Gaza conference in Istanbul today, Pakistan to call for withdrawal of Israeli forces

Istanbul: A high-level conference on Gaza is being held today in the Turkish city of Istanbul, hosted by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

According to Turkish media reports, foreign ministers from eight countries including Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Jordan, and Egypt are participating in the meeting.

The conference aims to review progress on the Gaza ceasefire agreement and assess the ongoing humanitarian situation in the region. Discussions will also focus on recent developments related to the ceasefire and the human rights situation in Gaza.

Call from Pakistan:

Pakistan is being represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people.

According to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Islamabad will stress the full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and call for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from all occupied Palestinian territories, particularly Gaza.

Pakistan has been, and will continue to be, committed to efforts to restore peace, justice, and dignity to the Palestinian people, as well as to ensure the realisation of their right to self-determination.

Turkish media report that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will underscore Israel’s continued aggression and attempts to evade a lasting ceasefire, while urging the international community to ensure accountability and humanitarian relief for Gaza’s civilian population.
