KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has requested his party’s support for the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
In a statement posted on social media, Bilawal said that a delegation of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, met with President Asif Ali Zardari and himself to discuss the proposed amendment.

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari stated that the Prime Minister sought PPP’s backing for the amendment, which includes the establishment of a Constitutional Court, the appointment of executive magistrates, and the transfer of judges.
He further revealed that the proposed amendment also seeks to remove the protection of provincial shares in the National Finance Commission(NFC) Award. Additionally, the amendment suggests changes to Article 243 and the return of education and population planning to the federal domain.
Chairman People’s Party said that the 27th constitutional amendment also includes breaking the deadlock on the appointment of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
He said that on the return of President Asif Ali Zardari from Qatar, the central executive committee meeting of the People’s Party will be held on November 6, in which the party policy will be decided.
