MoFA’s spokesman took to Twitter and said the successful Mars mission – Hope Probe was a testament to the vision of the UAE leadership, and pride for its people, as well as Muslim Ummah.

It is pertinent to mention here that the government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) has witnessed a historic goal as the country joined an elite club of five nations that have sent a spacecraft to the Red Planet.

Titled as ‘Hope Probe,’ the first Arab science mission achieved this goal after a space journey that lasted 7 months during which it traveled 494 million kilometers, which allowed it to send information about the orbit Atmosphere and climate of Mars.

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Islamabad stated that the people of the UAE and the Arab and Islamic nations feel proud and satisfaction over the success of the UAE’s access to the orbit of the Red Planet.

Ambassador Al Zaabi said that this achievement makes UAE the Fifth space agency to reach the Red Planet through the first Arab probe scaling among the planets; he added that the Mars program is part of the rich national efforts to develop its scientific and technological capabilities.

The UAE Ambassador informed that this is the most distant point in the universe that Arabs have reached throughout their history, and that our goal is to give hope to all Arabs and Muslims that we are able to compete with the rest of the nations and peoples.

The UAE Ambassador in Islamabad pointed out that the self-operated probe launched into space at a speed of 121,000 km / h had to automatically reduce its speed to 18,000 km / h, for 27 minutes known as the “27 blind minutes” using 6 reverse propulsion motors (delta V) engines equipped in probe.

The Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has on Wednesday announced to lift ban for the burials of Muslims over the government’s decision to cremate all those who died of Coronavirus.

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said in parliament the bodies of virus victims will be allowed to be buried.

In March last year, the Health Ministry had said that the burial of the coronavirus victims could lead to the virus spread. It said the bodies of the deceased, irrespective of their religion, would therefore be cremated.

However, the World Health Organization (WHO) stressed that cremation is a “matter of cultural choice.”

“It is a common myth that persons who have died of a communicable disease should be cremated, but this is not true,” it added.

Moreover, Muslims and non-Muslims have protested against the rule over the past year, calling it unscientific and insensitive of Muslim religious beliefs.

5G technology to be launched in Pakistan by December 2022

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Telecommunications Syed Aminul Haque announced on Wednesday that the 5G technology would be launched in Pakistan next year in December.

He said this while addressing the contract signing ceremony of broadband projects in Upper Dir, Chitral and Lower Dir districts.

The contract was signed between Universal Service Fund (USF) and Telenor for high-speed mobile broadband projects in Upper Dir, Chitral and Lower Dir districts.

The ceremony was witnessed by Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque and SAPM Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari.

The IT minister further said that the broadband project in Upper Dir, Chitral and Lower Dir districts would be completed at a cost of Rs1.3 billion, adding that the government also taking measures to resolve internet issues in North Waziristan.

“IT ministry taking necessary measures to ensure availability of broadband services at all tourist spots across the country,” he added.

Syed Aminul Haque said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will perform the groundbreaking of the special technology zone in Islamabad next week.
