SC takes notice of resignation and appointment of Attorney General

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan took notice of resignation and appointment of Attorney General and sought record in this regard on January 17.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa issued the order for non-assistance by the deputy attorney in the case against the property.

Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked that “we are not getting proper support in cases from the Attorney General’s Office, who is the Attorney General to which the Deputy Attorney General replied that the Attorney General is Ashtar Ausaf.”

Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that Ashtar Ausaf has resigned, his resignation has been accepted.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa issued an order in which it was said that who is the new Attorney General. To which Deputy Attorney General Shafqat Abbasi replied that “I do not know.”

Justice Qazi Faez Issa called Additional Attorney General Aamir Rehman to the rostrum and asked him who is the new Attorney General.

The Additional Attorney General also expressed ignorance about the Attorney General, on which Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that how is the country running without an Attorney General.
