“Maryam Nawaz should stop making tall claims as PTI is going nowhere”

Fayyaz Chohan

Punjab Minister for Prison Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan has on Sunday claimed that Shahbaz Sharif’s son Hamza Shahbaz has demanded resignation from Maryam Nawaz, PML-N’s Vice President.

Responding to Maryam Nawaz’s remarks, Fayyaz Chohan bashed her over claims that her dreams would be shattered on December 14 after the Lahore rally.

“On one hand she is demanding the government to resign while on the other, Hamza Shahbaz has demanded resignation from her,” he said.

The minister further added that both young members of the Sharif family had a heated argument as Hamza asked her to refrain from pursuing the current narrative of the party.

Chohan asked as to how those who are facing cracks from within could unite the opposition and the country. “The masses are well aware of their anti-Pakistan narrative,” he said.

Fayyaz Chohan said that the unnatural alliance of opposition under the umbrella of the PDM would die down on its own after the Lahore public gathering.

“Maryam Nawaz should stop making tall claims as the government is going nowhere,” he said.

Earlier in a day, Maryam Nawaz urged her party workers to respond quickly if any case registered against them by the incumbent government.

Taking aim at the incumbent government, she said that with a single roti (a piece of bread) costing Rs30, a family of 8-10 people have no hope of making ends meet.

She said PM Imran Khan used to claim that the “green passport will be respected across the world” but now flights from Pakistan have been banned.

“Is there anyone who can ask him what became of the claims he made?” she inquired.

Speaking further about the delay in LNG procurement, she said, “The prime minister’s friends who run his kitchen were benefited”.

“People hardly have any supply of gas in their homes, but they get unbelievably high bills,” Maryam Nawaz went on to add.

She dared the “fake and cowardly” prime minister to come and mingle with the people for two minutes.

“We must now call Imran Khan by his new name — Taabedaar Khan,” she said.

Nawaz Sharif once again denounces alleged rigging in the 2018 elections

Nawaz Sharif

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif on Sunday lamented that none of the elected prime ministers has been able to complete their terms in Pakistan.

Speaking to the social worker’s convention, Nawaz Sharif said, “Until now, none of the [elected] prime ministers has been allowed to complete their constitutional term. Every few years, democracy is attacked and martial law is imposed,” he said.

“Again and again, the constitution was violated […] those who created the country were termed traitors, popular leaders were jailed and leaders were made out to be robbers.”

Nawaz once again decried alleged rigging in the 2018 elections, saying that the votes of the public had been “stolen”.

“Tell me, hand on your heart, is this Quaid-i-Azam’s Pakistan?” asked Nawaz.

He said that his speeches had been banned on TV, adding that the world had changed and it was no longer possible to suppress anyone’s voice.

“Social media, despite recently approved rules,” Nawaz said, “is free to quite an extent”.

“It is not possible for them to hide their lies any longer, or to suppress the voice of the common man,” he declared.

The govt. couldn’t be toppled by holding rallies: Firdous Ashiq

Firdous Ashiq lashed out at PDM

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday has on Sunday termed the Opposition rallies the main cause of COVID-19 spread across Pakistan.

Firdous Ashiq lashed out at the Opposition over their irresponsible behaviours during the second wave of the COVID-19. She said that 25 more people succumbed to coronavirus during the past 24 hours in Punjab.

Awan maintained that 662 more people tested positive for the COVID-19 in the province.

PTI came into power through the power of the vote, she said, adding that the government could not be toppled by the rallies.

Speaking further about the economy, the special assistant said that political stability was vital for economic stability.

She said that the opposition meeting scheduled to be held on 13th of December will prove to be a flop-show.

Earlier in a day, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President, Maryam Nawaz has on Sunday urged her party workers to respond quickly if any case registered against them by the incumbent government.

The VP lamented the PTI government as 3,000 first information reports (FIR) are filed after every rally held by the Opposition.

Maryam’s remarks came to light ahead of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)’s rally planned at Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan monument on December 13.

Although Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the 11-party Opposition alliance will not be prevented from holding the rally, he vowed that cases will be registered against all organisers and facilitators of the rally.

Maryam spoke at length about how the party’s popularity has been propelled by the social media teams.

Moreover, Maryam said that the PDM is about to make big decisions ahead of a meeting between alliance members on December 8.

“The people of Pakistan have won this war. Victory only remains to be declared in the rally on the 13th,” she said.
