‘Dhoni is an evergreen cricketer, he just doesn’t age’: Shane Watson

Shane Watson

Former Australian opener Shane Watson feels his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni is an evergreen cricketer and he just doesn’t age.

Shane Watson has been playing for Chennai Super Kings under Dhoni since 2018 and has been a crucial part of the franchise in the last couple of years.

However, MS Dhoni is all set to make a much-awaited return to competitive cricket when IPL 2020 kickstarts in the UAE from September 19 and runs until November 10. Dhoni has not been in competitive action since India’s exit in the 2019 World Cup semi-final.

“MS still loves playing. He is an evergreen cricketer and it feels like he just doesn’t age. Look, with the kind of skills he has and the hard yards he puts in, MS can go on and play into his 40s. MS has been able to manage his body well. The way he is able to run consistently and showcase skills behind the stumps are just incredible. I am a big fan of MS and would want to see him continue playing whether it’s for CSK or internationally,” Watson said.

Shane Watson has won the IPL trophy with CSK in 2018. In last year’s final against Mumbai Indians, the Australian was awarded Man of the Match for his 59-ball 80 that went in vain as CSK lost the title clash in a close battle.

The player further added, “It definitely will. The pitches are going to be on the slower side. We have some high-quality spinners in our side and we should be able to capitalize.”

Facebook deletes 7mn posts which promoted fake COVID-19 prevention

Facebook deleted fake content

Facebook on Tuesday removed 7 million posts in the second quarter for sharing false information about the novel coronavirus, including content that promoted fake preventative measures.

Facebook released the data as part of its sixth Community Standards Enforcement Report, which it introduced in 2018 along with more stringent decorum rules in response to a backlash over its lax approach to policing content on its platforms.

The social media giant said it would invite external experts to independently audit the metrics used in the report, beginning in 2021.

The world’s biggest social media company removed about 22.5 million posts containing hate speech on its flagship app in the second quarter, up from 9.6 million in the first quarter.

It also deleted 8.7 million posts connected to extremist organizations, compared with 6.3 million in the prior period.

Facebook said it relied more heavily on automation technology for reviewing content during the months of April, May and June.

That resulted in the company taking action on fewer pieces of content related to suicide and self-injury, child nudity and sexual exploitation on its platforms, Facebook said in a post.

The company said it was expanding its hate speech policy to include content depicting blackface, or stereotypes about Jewish people controlling the world.
