Shahid Afridi meets JUI chief Fazal ur Rehman

KARACHI: Former captain and cricketer Shahid Afridi met with chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.

The meeting was held at the residence of JUI Sindh Secretary General Allama Rashid Soomro in Karachi.

Other leaders including Allama Rashid Soomro and Allama Nasir Soomro were also present in the meeting between Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Shahid Afridi.

The provincial Secretary of Information for JUI stated that discussions focused on the current political situation in the country.

During the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman commended Shahid Afridi for his dedication to welfare, patriotism, and his commitment to serving the nation.

Afridi also briefed the Maulana about his charitable activities, expressing admiration for Fazlur Rehman’s political insight and his emphasis on reasoned debate.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi meets JUI-F Chief

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.

Federal Interior Minister visited Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and inquired about his welfare. He expressed his best wishes for the JUI chief and said to pray for his health and safety.

He said that he has a long relationship with Maulana Fazalur Rahman for 25 years, he has a respectful relationship with him.

Later, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari in the President’s House, in which matters of mutual interest and the country’s situation were discussed in detail.

On this occasion, the President said that Pakistan has to be taken forward and everyone has to play their role in this regard.

It should be noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and discussed the proposal to form a committee to resolve political issues.

JUI-F denies permission to hold public gathering in Karachi

KARACHI: Deputy Commissioner Karachi refused to allow Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) to hold public gathering in the city which was scheduled on today.

JUI has announced a public gathering against the election results at New MA Jinnah Road, which will be addressed by the party’s central and provincial leadership including JUI-F Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.

Deputy Commissioner East said that JUI was not allowed to hold the rally, the rally was not allowed on the report of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East.

According to the SSP East report, in view of the recent incidents of terrorism in the city, large public gatherings cannot be allowed.

On the other hand, JUI spokesperson Aslam Ghauri said that JUI chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has reached Karachi and he will address the Jalsa.

Aslam Ghauri said that it is hoped that the Sindh government will abide by the language of Bilawal Bhutto, peaceful protest is a constitutional right and we have full right to use the constitutional right.

JUI-F’s chief announces boycott of by-elections

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has announced a boycott of the by-elections and party will hold protest in different cities from April 25 against rigging in February 8 elections.

JUI chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman announced in a video released on social media that no JUI candidate will participate in the by-elections.

In the video statement, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman says that JUI-F reject the results of the February 8 elections because this parliament is less representative of the people and more representative of the establishment.

In the video statement of Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, it has also been announced to start a movement from April 25 against the election results of February 8 from Balochistan.

In the video statement, Maulana Fazal ur Rehman further said JUI-F will also hold rallies in Karachi, Peshawar and Lahore.

He said Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has remained powerless and did not have the permission to compile a single result and adding that interference was being done in the matters of the civil bureaucracy.

ECP issues notification of unknown woman on JUI reserved seat quota

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a notification of the success of an unknown woman on the reserved seat of the Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal(JUI-F) quota.

The ECP has issued the notification of the success of a woman named Sadaf Ehsan for the reserved seat of the National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa whose number is F6 of 2024.

On the other hand, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has requested to cancel the notification and conduct an investigation.

In the request of Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, it is said that Sadaf Ehsan is not a party member and this name is not in our list.

He demanded that the notification of Sadaf Ehsan should be canceled and the notification of Hina Bibi should be issued.

It is pleaded in the petition that the notification was issued by mistake or collusion and notification of the alien woman should be investigated.

LAHORE: President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif and Head of Jammiat e Ulema e Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) Maulana Fazal ur Rehman agreed to steer the country out of crises jointly.

Former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Maulana Fazal ur Rehman gave full support in saving Pakistan from default and all parties thought of saving the state and not politics in 16 months.

PESHAWAR: The Head of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Maulana Fazal ur Rehman has said that terrorism is happening in Pakistan from Afghanistan, so the Afghan government should be asked to take action.

A Grand Tribal Jirga was held at a local hotel under JUI in Peshawar in which political and tribal elders of the Pashtun belt participated.

Amir Jamaat e Islami Siraj-ul-Haq, General Secretary of PPP Nayar Bukhari, Faisal Karim Kundi, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, and Mian Iftikhar Hussain of Awami National Party were present.

Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, while holding a press conference after the tribal jirga in Peshawar, said that the tribal jirga expressed grief over the loss of life in the Bajaur blast and condoled with the families of the deceased.

He said that the Jirga expressed concern over the incidents of terrorism in various districts and termed these incidents as a threat against the state of Pakistan.

Maulana Fazal ur Rehman said that the Jirga emphasized the need to make Pak-Afghan relations effective and to fulfill the promises of providing basic facilities to the tribal people and demanded that the announced funds for the tribal areas be released immediately.

He said that the Jirga proposed to convene an all-party conference and hoped that the political parties would continue to show unity.

The head of PDM said that it was suggested that a committee should be established to contact the province and the center, Pakistan should make a joint strategy to prevent terrorism in Afghanistan, and sabotaging peace in Pakistan in exchange for dollars is an international agenda, outside forces conspired, our people got involved, our efforts were sabotaged but the war will continue.
