Kundi calls for action against PTI workers involved in vandalism

ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi said that the federal government should take action against those who were involved in vandalism during yesterday’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s public meeting.

Speaking to the media after inauguration of `Artisans at Work Exhibition’ at Centaurus Mall, Faisal Kundi emphasized that everyone should abide constitution and law saying, “I will abide by the law as long as I am in power ”.

Criticizing the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, Governor KP said that the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is having more ministries contrary to the law which says that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister cannot hold more than five ministries.

He said that the writ of state is being challenged in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while majority of the incidents of terrorism are happening in Chief Minister’s own district.

“Either the Chief Minister should have courage to take action or he may be bracketed with those who are involved in terrorism”, he said.

Expressing concerns over deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Governor KP said that the terrorism and extortion are on the rise in the province.

Considering such situation, he will ask the Prime Minister and Interior Minister to call an emergency meeting on the situation of KP soon, Faisal Kundi said.

Faisal Kundi said that the Chief Minister with a two-third majority should take a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly.

He also called for speedy trial of the May 9 accused and said that there should be no exception for those who do not follow the constitution of the country.

“Even the enemies of the country cannot do what happened on May 9 and how the military installations were targeted”, he said.

Earlier, the Governor KP visited the exhibition and praised the work of artisans and crafters for showcasing their live skills for the visitors and general public.

The exhibition included stalls of unique types of embroidery, block printing, truck art, hand printing, knitting, fancy products, weaving, pottery, khaadi work and other arts and crafts.

11 killed as rain water entered house basement in Kohat

KOHAT: At least 11 members of a family died as rain water entered basement of the house in Dara Adamkhel area of Kohat.

According to rescue officials, rainwater entered the house in Old Bazid Khel  area of ​​Dara Adamkhel where 11 members of the same family died due to the water entered in the basement of the house.

KP CM Gandapur sends defamation notice to Governor Kundi

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has sent a defamation notice to Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has sent a notice of one billion rupees as damages.

In the text of the notice sent by the lawyer, it is said to pay Rs 500 million as damages for damaging the reputation of client and Rs 500 million separately for causing mental stress to his client.

According to the text, his client was accused of signing off on the Operation Azm-e-Istehkam while the Chief Minister did not sign any signatures for the operation in the Apex Committee meeting.

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians and former Chief Minister Khyer Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan met Chairman People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

In this important meeting between the two leaders in Islamabad, Mahmood Khan said that the federal government had neglected the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by withdrawing 91 development projects worth billions of rupees from the PSDP program of the province affected by terrorism, natural disasters, poverty, and unemployment.

MOFA Crises Unit activated to assist Pakistani nationals in Kyrgyzstan

ISLAMABAD: At the instruction of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) activated its Crisis Management Unit for the facilitation and assistance of the Pakistani nationals in the Kyrgyz Republic and their families.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic Hassan Ali Zaigham strongly raised the concerns with Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister Imangaziev Almaz of the Pakistani nationals, particularly the large number of affected Pakistani students and their families, about previous night’s violence in Bishkek. He urged the Kyrgyz Government to prioritize the safeguarding of Pakistani nationals.

At the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s ambassador met the Kyrgyz deputy foreign minister in connection with the incidents of violence in Bishkek, Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release.

The Kyrgyz deputy foreign minister informed that their authorities had controlled the situation which was now back to normal.

On other hand, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed concern over the harassment of Pakistani students in Bishkek and called for steps to protect them.

He expressed concern over violence against Pakistani students and urged Pakistani embassy in Kyrgyzstan to provide needed help and assistance to Pakistani in Bishkek.

President Zardari approves appointment of Governors

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has accorded his approval to the appointment of Governors for Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.

After approval, Sardar Slaeem Haider Khan has been appointed as Governor Punjab, Faisal Karim Kundi as Governor KP and Jaffar Khan Mandokhel as Governor Balochistan.

The president approved the appointments under Article 101 (1) of the Constitution of Pakistan.

Earlier, Chairman Pakistan People Party  Bilawal Bhutto announced the nomination of governors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto said that People’s Party has nominated Faisal Karim Kundi as Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and party has nominated Sardar Saleem Haider as Governor of Punjab.

Bilawal Bhutto expressed good wishes for Faisal Karim Kundi and Sardar Saleem Haider and said in a statement that he is sure that both the governors will perform their duties well.

Faisal Karim Kundi said in his statement that President Asif Zardari will make an official announcement regarding Aseefa Bhutto’s first lady and Asifa Bhutto will be the first lady who is the daughter of the President.
