She won for her hit album Short and Sweet, which dominated the summer of 2024. Competing against industry giants like Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift, Sabrina’s victory was a major milestone in her career.

Notably, she was the opening act for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, performing alongside her in Latin America, Asia, and Australia. When her win was announced, the cameras captured Taylor cheering enthusiastically in support of her.

The 2025 Grammy Awards celebrate the year’s biggest musical talents, with Beyoncé leading the nominations for her critically acclaimed album Cowboy Carter.

Hosted for the fifth consecutive time by Trevor Noah, the ceremony features performances by Shakira, Billie Eilish, Doechii, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Charli XCX.

Eilish admitted to stepping away from social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok, a couple of months ago. “Yeah, I’m off that shit,” she said, describing the break as “awesome.” However, her efforts to stay off social media have been challenged by her ongoing world tour in support of her latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

While on tour, Eilish expressed her love for interacting with fans and staying updated on their reactions to her shows. “I love seeing all the videos and all the angles. I love seeing how people are feeling and thinking about the show,” she explained. “If I think something looks different, I want to change it.” However, this often leads her to get “sucked in” and feel “all f**ked up.”

While performing in Nashville, the singer paused her show to address the election results, visibly emotional as she spoke about Trump’s history of sexual assault accusations.

“I could not fathom doing a show on a day like this,” Billie told the audience, expressing her disappointment at Trump’s return to the White House. “I want you to know that you’re safe with me, and you’re protected here and that you are safe in this room,” she added, addressing the women in the crowd.

Billie, a vocal critic of Trump, also referenced her own experiences and the abuse many women face. “The song that we’re about to do is about the abuse that exists in this world upon women and a lot of the experiences that I have gone through and people I know have gone through,” she said. “To tell you the truth, I’ve never met one single woman who doesn’t have a story of abuse. Not one.”

The 2022 song TV, which Billie performed that night, touches on the overturning of Roe v. Wade and the ongoing debate over abortion rights in the U.S.

Billie continued, addressing Trump as a “convicted predator,” and said, “someone who hates women so, so deeply is about to be the president of the United States of America. So, this song is for all the women out there. I love you, I support you.”

Trump, who won the 2024 election, will begin his second term as president after overcoming multiple legal battles, including a civil suit where he was found liable for sexual abuse.

Billie Eilish Reflects On ‘Shocking’ Music Transition

During a recent appearance on Dua Lipa’s At Your Service podcast, Billie Eilish delved into her creative process as a teenager versus her current approach. She discussed the comparisons she’s been making, aiming to reassure herself that she’s still capable of exploring different avenues. She shared with the British artist, “I’ve been trying to compare recently, just because I’m getting used to doing it in a different way, and trying to be like ‘it’s ok to do that. I’m ok. I’m still able to do that; I’m capable still.'”

Eilish’s rise to fame began at the age of 13 with the release of Ocean Eyes on SoundCloud. Collaborating with her brother Finneas, she has since released two studio albums, earning Grammy recognition along the way.

Her most recent album, Happier Than Ever, was released in 2021. Reflecting on that time, she revealed that both she and Finneas felt confident that they had everything figured out. However, after a year and a half of touring and returning to their work, Eilish acknowledged the transformative effect of age: “And, you know, touring for a year-and-a-half, then coming back to it, and being way older — and not even much older, but again, the jump between 18 and 21 is a big jump.”

Eilish further described grappling with the changes she’s experienced, especially in her voice, and how her presence in the creative space has evolved. She shared, “I’ve been having to try and convince myself that it’s ok and that I haven’t lost it. It’s just different… The way that I exist in the room is different, my voice has completely changed since then… The voice-changing thing is a trip. It’s all kind of shocking.”

As she continues to navigate this creative journey, Eilish is gradually becoming more accepting of change. She expressed, “I’ve gotten a little bit more like, ok, it’s just change and I’m figuring that out.”
