Global artist Dua Lipa captivated audiences during her concert in Mumbai by performing a surprise mashup of her hit song “Levitating” with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic track “Woh Ladki Jo” from the film Baadshah.

The performance quickly went viral, flooding social media with videos of the mashup, much to the delight of fans. However, the excitement was met with criticism from Jay, son of renowned singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya.

He took to Instagram to express his frustration over the lack of recognition for his father’s contribution to the song, stating, “What happened to- Woh Ladki Jo- Abhijeet? Unfortunately we live in a country where not one news outlet or Instagram page has mentioned the voice and the artists of this song.”

Jay emphasized that while he admires Shah Rukh Khan, the focus should also be on the singers who created the music.

Dua Lipa’s performance was a highlight of her concert, and even Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan, shared a video clip on her Instagram stories, expressing her excitement. After an unforgettable night in India, Dua announced her next stop in Seoul, thanking Mumbaikars for their warm welcome.

Dua Lipa Calls For ‘Ceasefire In Gaza’

Dua Lipa, a Hollywood celebrity, recently used her Instagram Story to convey her sincere comments on the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.

The English-Albanian singer, who is of Muslim descent, expressed her great grief and asked countries to solve the severe humanitarian issue in a moving and thorough statement on her Instagram Story.

Lipa also posted a fundraiser titled “Urgent relief for Gaza’s children” and contributed her voice by adding, “With each passing day, my heart aches for the people of Israel and Palestine. I grieve for the lives lost in the distressing attacks in Israel and for the unprecedented suffering in Gaza, where 2.2 million individuals, half of them children, endure unimaginable hardships.”

She added, “For now, I fervently hope for a ceasefire in Gaza and appeal to governments to intervene in this unfolding crisis. Our collective hope rests on finding the compassion to acknowledge this severe humanitarian predicament.” She concluded her message by “sending love to Palestinian and Jewish communities around the world, who bear the weight of this burden more deeply than most.”

On the eleventh day of the conflict, Israel launched a deadly attack in Gaza, hitting Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, and killing approximately 500 people, including women and children. Ashraf al-Qudra, a spokesman for the Health Ministry, confirmed the high fatality toll, with many of the casualties being children and women who had serious injuries. The aftermath of the hospital attack was a frightening spectacle, and medical resources are running low.

The singer of the famous song “Levitating” cleaned up her Instagram feed and changed her profile photo to a kaleidoscopic rendering of her eye.

She also deleted all of the original thumbnails for her music videos on YouTube in order to create more kaleidoscopic images.

Dua said in August that her third studio album, expected to arrive in 2024, will have a “different sound,” and that she will continue to focus only on pop songs.

The 28-year-old singer further explained that she will embrace the sounds of “1970s-era psychedelia” without “alienating” her followers.

Additionally, Dua hinted at working with Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, saying, “This album will be less personal than others.”

The One Kiss singer told her “Cold Heart” co-writer Sir Elton John last year that she was halfway through the record.

Since beginning her professional career in 2013, Dua has released two studio albums, Dua Lipa and Future Nostalgia.

Amid discussions about her close relationships with her parents and living grandparents, Dua Lipa emphasized the significance of family. Inquiring about her intentions regarding future parenthood, Vogue France asked if she planned to have children.

She responded, “Hmm, maybe. But nothing’s planned!”

Dua Lipa humorously mentioned that there’s one “baby” receiving all her affection and attention—her new album. She quipped, “The only baby I’m thinking about is my new album.”

Discussing the advantages of having more time for personal pursuits, particularly as a woman, Lipa candidly expressed her appreciation. She noted, “I think that women have acquired a place in society that was forbidden before. And yet, has the desire to have children disappeared? I think women want to do things at their own pace, and not feel guilty for thinking of themselves.”

Dua Lipa further shared, “For me, when the moment is right, I will know. But, until then, I have other priorities. I want to continue making the most of my youth.”

The Grammy winner also voiced her perspective on feminism, addressing the challenges that women often face in navigating their choices. She stated, “I also see this endless criticism of women’s choices. It’s like navigating a minefield from the very beginning. For me, it’s really important to respect women’s choices, whatever they are.”

Lipa extended her discussion to her support for the LGBTQ community, emphasizing the interconnectedness of homophobia, transphobia, and misogyny. She reflected, “Homophobia and transphobia are neighbors of misogyny. Many people, deep down, are just scared of themselves. The freedom of others forces them to come to terms with something they are too scared to express. The beauty of a free, true and proud being paralyzes them.”

Billie Eilish Reflects On ‘Shocking’ Music Transition

During a recent appearance on Dua Lipa’s At Your Service podcast, Billie Eilish delved into her creative process as a teenager versus her current approach. She discussed the comparisons she’s been making, aiming to reassure herself that she’s still capable of exploring different avenues. She shared with the British artist, “I’ve been trying to compare recently, just because I’m getting used to doing it in a different way, and trying to be like ‘it’s ok to do that. I’m ok. I’m still able to do that; I’m capable still.'”

Eilish’s rise to fame began at the age of 13 with the release of Ocean Eyes on SoundCloud. Collaborating with her brother Finneas, she has since released two studio albums, earning Grammy recognition along the way.

Her most recent album, Happier Than Ever, was released in 2021. Reflecting on that time, she revealed that both she and Finneas felt confident that they had everything figured out. However, after a year and a half of touring and returning to their work, Eilish acknowledged the transformative effect of age: “And, you know, touring for a year-and-a-half, then coming back to it, and being way older — and not even much older, but again, the jump between 18 and 21 is a big jump.”

Eilish further described grappling with the changes she’s experienced, especially in her voice, and how her presence in the creative space has evolved. She shared, “I’ve been having to try and convince myself that it’s ok and that I haven’t lost it. It’s just different… The way that I exist in the room is different, my voice has completely changed since then… The voice-changing thing is a trip. It’s all kind of shocking.”

As she continues to navigate this creative journey, Eilish is gradually becoming more accepting of change. She expressed, “I’ve gotten a little bit more like, ok, it’s just change and I’m figuring that out.”
