Finneas says Billie Eilish should simply be happier than ever. The musician responded to a commenter on social media who chastised his sister Billie’s association with Jesse Rutherford, a man 10 years her senior. One of Finneas’ TikToks was shared with the comment, “Your sister’s dating a 31-year-old man and your music is s—tty.”

He retaliated on December 26 by defending Billie’s romance. Finneas stated, “I want my sister to be safe and happy, and she is a 21-year-old adult who is quite qualified to make her own life decisions.

When the two were spotted kissing in Los Angeles at a dinner date night back in October, Billie officially announced her romance with the neighborhood musician. More recently, Billie and Jesse threw a Christmas-themed party to commemorate the “bad guy” singer’s 21st birthday, and the duo was quite affectionate.

Finneas, 25, just wants to be supportive of everything going on. At a GQ event in November, he said to reporters, “Listen, as long as she’s happy, I’m happy.”

“It’s really cool, and I’m really excited and I’m really happy about it,” she told Vanity Fair in an interview published Nov. 28. “I managed to get my life to a point where I not only was known by a person that I thought was the hottest f–king f–ker alive, but pulled his ass! Are you kidding me? Can we just [get a] round of applause for me.”

Billie added, “Thank you, Jesse Rutherford, everyone! I pulled his ass. All me. I did that s–t.”
