Shah Rukh Khan appeared in a rare ’90s ad for sports shoes

Shah Rukh Khan used to appear in ads back in the ’90s.
He starred in one of the very first sports shoes made in India.
The ad has surfaced on Instagram, reigniting nostalgia for many fans of the actor’s latest film Pathaan.

In the late 1980s, Shah Rukh Khan began his acting career in television programs including Circus and Fauji. He started to feature in advertisements once he started to get people’s attention. Additionally, the then-emerging actor was successful in getting himself a television commercial for the first pair of sports shoes created in India. The early ’90s advertisement has surfaced on Instagram ahead of the actor’s most recent release with Pathaan this week, rekindling nostalgia for many fans.

Shahrukh Khan, before he became King Khan, in an old advertisement published on Instagram by Bollywoodirect with the hashtags “#SRK #Bollywood #pathan.” The advertisement features Sylvester Stallone running while wearing the new shoes, and is set to the song Eye of the Tiger from Rocky III from 1982. The actor is shown getting dressed in his workout attire, including a headband, blue T-shirt, and shorts, before taking the brand-new, white shoes out of their box.

A youthful Shah Rukh appears to be quite excited about his outdoor run in the advertisement. The athletic shoes are described as “the stamp of achievement” in the voiceover. Fans responded to the sentimental advertisement by adding red heart emojis to the Instagram post.

The actor began to appear in more commercial and public service advertisements as his notoriety increased, including the well-known tea commercial that Prahlad Kakkar shot in just three days and that earned him enough money to purchase a home. Shah Rukh acknowledged that he didn’t particularly appreciate his appearance in the sports shoes advertisement in Mushtaq Shiekh’s biography of the actor.

But in his first nine years as an actor, he appeared in over 45 TV ads and over 15 brand endorsements. In the book Shah Rukh Can, he stated: “I think that as a celebrity, I paved the way for other actors to do commercials. By endorsing so many things, I gave celebrities who appeared in advertisements legitimacy.”

After a four-year absence, Shah Rukh is making a big-screen comeback with Pathaan. He most recently appeared with co-stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in Aanand L Rai’s Zero (2018). Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and others are featured in the Siddharth Anand-directed film Pathaan. Release day for the action movie is January 25.

In a 2019 interview, Katrina Kaif discussed how she “grew up without a father figure” and how this left a certain “vacuum” in her life. It may “make any girl feel vulnerable,” the actor remarked, and she went on to say that when she has children of her own, she wants them to “have the experience of being with both parents.” Katrina discussed her mother Suzanne Turquotte, who raised seven kids and a son all by herself, in the same interview. She acknowledged that it “must have been tough” for her mother, something she only realized much afterwards.

Katrina mentioned questioning her mother Suzanne about having “so many children” and how she managed to raise them all by herself. In addition, Katrina said that her mother had recently talked to her about her life, which the actor said “has been much more helpful” to her.

In a 2019 interview with Filmfare, Katrina was asked if she ever asked her mother what she was thinking when she gave birth to seven girls “I did, I do. I asked her how she managed to raise so many kids on her own and what she was thinking when she had so many. But over the past few years, I’ve found that the advice my mother gave me about life has been much more valuable. It has more significance. You can see things from a distance now, and you realize how difficult it must have been for her.”

The fact that her parents were estranged, according to Katrina, “had a part to play” in how she managed her personal life. In December 2021, Katrina wed actor Vicky Kaushal. In the same 2019 interview, when asked if she sought for strong male role models in her relationships or even outside of them, perhaps in a friend or director, Katrina had responded, “I don’t believe I did. People often say that if you can count your true friends on one hand, you are lucky. My reliable, close group of buddies are familiar with me. Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi were also in the movie Phone Bhoot where Katrina last appeared. The movie was produced by Excel Entertainment, a company run by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, and directed by Gurmmeet Singh. The next movie starring Katrina and Vijay Sethupathi is Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas. In December 2022, the film’s initial poster was made available. Katrina will also appear in Tiger 3 with Salman Khan.

Speaking to British Vogue, Priyanka said her daughter was born a full trimester too early. “I was in the OR [operating room] when she came out. She was so small, smaller than my hand,” Priyanka said. “I saw what the intensive-care nurses do. They do God’s work. Nick and I were both standing there as they intubated her. I don’t know how they even found what they needed [in her tiny body] to intubate her.” She added, “I didn’t know if she would make it or not.”

She said she had medical complications which meant she could not carry a child herself. “I had medical complications,” she said, “this was a necessary step, and I’m so grateful I was in a position where I could do this. Our surrogate was so generous, kind, lovely and funny, and she took care of this precious gift for us for six months.”

In 2018, Priyanka and Nick Jonas exchanged vows. The couple announced the arrival of their first child in January of last year in a joint Instagram post. The middle name of both of their mothers served as the basis for Malti Marie’s name.

The following films Priyanka will appear in are Love Again with Sam Heughan and Russo Brothers’ Citadel starring Richard Madden. In Mumbai, Vicky and Katrina are frequently spotted together. After spending the New Year’s holiday in Rajasthan, the pair recently arrived at the Siddhivinayak Temple. Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif were spotted taking a flight in economy class. Many of their admirers observed them as they traveled, and after the video was posted online, word spread about how humble the two celebrities are.

Vicky and Katrina were dressed casually and comfortably in hoodies and track trousers. The clip showed Katrina using her phone inside the aircraft while Vicky gazes out the window. While some of their supporters were also astonished, it is clear from the remarks that they respect them for being modest.

According to reports, the pair is traveling to Europe to celebrate Christmas with Katrina’s family. Their first wedding anniversary was just passed. It was an exclusive, small-scale destination wedding.

‘Hema Malini used to be one of these faces,’ Vicky told Bollywood media.

Vicky Kaushal claims that like Hema Malini before her, Katrina Kaif, his actor wife, is one of the few people who can represent Bollywood on a global scale. Vicky added that Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina represent Hindi cinema on a worldwide scale.

“I always say that an industry is known by a few faces. With her work, Katrina has become one of those faces, along with Amitabh Bachchan. who represent the industry on the international platform. Hema Malini used to be one of these faces,” Vicky told Bollywood media.

He added, “Katrina has achieved that status and I believe it is not easy to reach there. I believe, whatever she has done and achieved, she did it all on her own. I respect her a lot for that, and I have a long way to go before I reach there. I feel it is good that we respect each other, and also have a lot to learn from each other.”

Govinda Naam Mera, Vicky’s most recent song, came out last week on Disney+ Hotstar. Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar are also in the movie. The comedy-thriller is directed by Shashank Khaitan, and reviews have been mixed to bad.
