Margot Robbie Reflects On Her Hilarious Babysitter Prank

Margot Robbie

During the promotion of her recently released film “Barbie,” Margot Robbie shared a memorable prank she played on her babysitter that resulted in screams of terror.

As part of the Greta Gerwig film’s press tour, the Suicide Squad star recalled a time when she wanted her previous babysitter, Talia, back because she thought she was cool. However, a much older babysitter was hired instead, and Robbie was not pleased with the situation.

“I was just not happy about it,” Robbie said during her appearance on BBC Radio 2. “She told me to go have a bath, and I didn’t want to. She was very cranky, and I thought, ‘I’m going to show you.'”

With mischievous intent, Robbie got a big kitchen knife and ketchup, then staged a prank by lying naked on the tiles, covered in ketchup, and holding the knife.

After waiting for 45 minutes, the babysitter eventually discovered her on the floor, and the reaction was worth it. “Did she run screaming from the house?” host Zoe Ball asked, to which Robbie replied, “Oh yeah.”

Ryan Gosling, her co-star in the movie who plays Ken, chimed in, acknowledging that she had produced her own death. Robbie confirmed, “I did.”

Robbie also shared another playful memory from her childhood, recalling a pratfall she performed on the cinema stairs at a shopping center. The incident led to people calling for an ambulance, as she was known for being a bit of a dramatic child.

Ryan Gosling’s ‘Oscar Worthy’ Performance Steals Hearts In ‘Barbie’

Ryan Gosling

The role of Ryan Gosling as Ken in “Barbie” has captured the hearts of many fans, leading to calls for the Canadian actor to receive an Oscar nomination for his outstanding performance.

Several Twitter users expressed their support for the 42-year-old actor, urging him to be considered for the prestigious award. One reviewer described “Barbie” as, “Barbie looks camp right in the eye and turns it into a post-modern meta exploration of existentialism, feminism, the patriarchy and masculinity packaged in a satirical musical comedy homage to the fabric of cinema. It is *the* movie of our time. Ryan Gosling, the Oscar is yours.”

Another fan wrote, “Ryan Gosling’s performance as Ken was oscar worthy. One of my biggest doubt was him but I’m glad he proved me wrong. He stole the show for me! Margot Robbie, ofc, fantastic as always. She looked like an actual Barbie the entire movie. The Kens dancing sequence was just wow!”

A different enthusiast penned, “Barbie is currently my favorite film of the year. Greta Gerwig somehow exceeded my expectations. She tackles the positives and negatives of Barbie so beautifully. Give Ryan Gosling an Oscar nomination, I’m dead serious!”

Despite having received two previous Oscar nominations for “Half Nelson” in 2007 and “La La Land” in 2017, fans remain hopeful that Gosling will secure another nomination for his exceptional depiction of Ken in “Barbie.”

Michael Cera shares he wanted to quit acting after film ‘Superbad’

Michael Cera

The actor known for his portrayal of Barbie, Michael Cera, disclosed that he considered leaving the entertainment industry following the success of his two hit films, Juno and Superbad.

Michael conveyed during an interview that the fame he garnered after these movies in 2007 made him uncomfortable, causing feelings of unease, peculiarity, and paranoia. While acknowledging the positive aspects of fame and the opportunity to meet incredible people, he also recognized the presence of negative energies that he was ill-prepared to handle.

In the wake of the fame from these two films, he admitted, “I didn’t know how to handle walking down the street.” He described fame as causing discomfort in one’s own skin and leading to paranoia and a sense of weirdness. Despite the positives and meeting amazing individuals, he felt unequipped to navigate the negative aspects.

Cera offered an example of encountering intoxicated individuals who, despite their enthusiasm, emitted toxic vibes upon recognizing a celebrity. He mentioned that such situations could be rather distressing.

As a child actor, he found that people were less respectful of personal boundaries, contributing to a burning feeling of constant scrutiny. Looking back, he acknowledged that it was a mistake not knowing how to establish his own boundaries.

The 35-year-old actor disclosed that he experienced disappointment and a personal crisis, causing him to consider avoiding roles that would further increase his fame. He found himself struggling to cope with the overwhelming level of public attention, leading him to question whether he would continue his acting career.

In conclusion, Michael Cera expressed, “I think I wanted to be a working actor who can enjoy my day-to-day life, and the world that I’ve created for myself.” He conveyed this sentiment as he sought to strike a balance between his career and personal life, as reported by Variety.

Ryan Gosling Reveals The Truth Behind Ken’s Existence In Barbie

Ryan Gosling

Ryan Gosling discussed his portrayal of Ken in the highly anticipated Hollywood movie “Barbie,” revealing that the character was designed to complement the main character.

In an interview with Outlook India, the renowned actor, known for his role in “The Notebook,” delved into Ken’s complex persona in the film, describing it as an “existential hell” with no distinct “identity” of its own. Gosling shared, “My Ken was created to just observe the awesomeness that is Barbie, and there’s even a line in the film when he says he only exists within the warmth of Barbie’s gaze.”

Gosling explained that Ken’s existence is tethered to the job assigned to him, which is simply to be at the beach. While he is eager to excel in this role, he finds himself grappling with uncertainties about what it truly entails.

Elaborating on Ken’s motivations, the actor revealed that the driving force behind his decision to embark on the journey with Barbie is the belief that he is her boyfriend, despite the absence of concrete evidence of any special connection between them. Their relationship is defined by their status as a set, and this is why Ken cannot fathom the idea of Barbie leaving without him.

When reflecting on the script of the movie, directed by Greta Gerwig, Gosling expressed his admiration for its unique blend of elements, encompassing humor and tragedy, as well as profundity and absurdity. He found it reminiscent of the things he cherished while growing up, yet still unlike anything he had ever encountered before.

‘Barbie’ Star Margot Robbie Stands Firmly With SAG-AFTRA Strike

Margot Robbie

At the London premiere of the upcoming film directed by Greta Gerwig, which features the iconic Mattel doll, Margot Robbie demonstrated her support for the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which has now merged with the writers’ strike that began in May.

During interviews at the event, the 33-year-old actress was asked by Sky News if she was backing the strike, to which she promptly replied, “Absolutely.” She also added, “I very much am in support of all the unions and I’m a part of SAG, so I would absolutely stand by them.”

Fran Drescher, the president of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), announced during a press conference in Los Angeles that they will call for a strike if their demands are not met.

The strike call comes after the union’s negotiating committee’s talks with major studios and streaming services about a new contract failed, even after extending the deadline by weeks, according to reports.

As a result of the strike call, all actors would halt working on scripted films and TV series, and they will also not be promoting any upcoming work through premieres, interviews, or their social media accounts for the duration of the strike.

Many actors have shown solidarity with the movement, including the cast of Oppenheimer. As soon as the announcement was made, Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, and Robert Downey Jr. walked out of their London premiere in support of SAG-AFTRA.

Mark Ronson Says He Felt Sympathetic To Ken In ‘Barbie’

Mark Ronson

Mark Ronson was so taken by Ken from the upcoming Barbie film that he wrote an entire song about it.

I’m just Ken is sung by Ryan Gosling’s character in the film, and it resonates as a rock ballad with an emo tinge. In an interview, Ronson explained that while he felt empathetic towards the character, he wasn’t sure if it would play a key role in the Greta Gerwig-directed film.

“You really fall in love with this hapless, but instantly sympathetic figure,” Ronson said of the song’s inspiration. “I had this idea for this lyric right away: ‘I’m just Ken / Anywhere else I’d be a 10’.” It just seemed amusing. It felt a little melancholy, like this unfortunate guy. He’s so attractive, but he can’t get a date.”

The seven-time Grammy winner went on to say that he did not expect the song to be so warmly accepted by Gerwig that she will alter a crucial scene to accommodate it.

Furthermore, when Ronson wrote the phrase “Is it my destiny to live and die a life of blond fragility?” he had no idea Gosling would be singing it.

When he heard the song, the La La Land actor fell in love with the concept and insisted on turning it into an emotional ballad.

Furthermore, Ronson included his “all-time hero” Slash and new Foo Fighters drummer Josh Freese on the track.

In a recently released trailer for the film, Gosling shows off his excellent vocals as he bellows out the song, while also nailing his comedic timing well.

“I’m just Ken,” Gosling sings in the preview as the Ken to Margot Robbie’s Barbie. “Where I see love, she sees a friend. What will it take for her to see the man behind the tan and fight for me?”
