Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are preparing for the release of their upcoming film Bawaal, helmed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film’s highly anticipated trailer was recently launched at an event in Dubai. Upon their return to Mumbai, Varun and Janhvi were spotted together at the airport, displaying a friendly camaraderie. However, it may come as a surprise that Varun Dhawan intentionally refrained from talking to Janhvi Kapoor during the initial month of the film’s shoot.

In an interview, Varun shared that he devised a plan to limit his communication with Janhvi during the early stages of filming. He believed that an instant friendship might develop between them. “Because I felt we’ll become friends like this (snaps). I said let me not and let me be a little aloof, a little cold. I’ll talk to everyone else but her, and purposely. I felt it might evoke something in her and something in me when we were doing scenes of that nature,” explained Varun. He mentioned that Nitesh Tiwari, the director, supported this approach.

Varun Dhawan acknowledged that this tactic was beneficial for both of them, as their characters in the film gradually get to know each other. He eventually revealed the reason behind his distant behaviour to Janhvi, who then understood the purpose behind it. “And then eventually, I told her after 20 days. Then she realized it, otherwise, she took it personally. See, I did it selfishly but I think it helped both of us at that time. Nitesh Tiwari, the director of Bawaal starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, has clarified that the film’s plot is not related to Hitler. Following the trailer launch, the film faced controversy due to perceived references to World War II and Hitler.

In order to provide clarity, director Nitesh explained, “When creating a character, you can delve into events and incidents that play a significant role in shaping the overall development of that character and their relationships in general.”

He emphasized that the film encompasses more than just Hitler, stating, “There are many more things that you may not have seen in the trailer. Every incident has been carefully chosen to have an impact on the overall narrative.”

Nitesh further elaborated on the inclusion of specific instances from the war and the necessity of incorporating Hitler. He highlighted the enormity of World War II and the need to select events that would have an impact on the characters’ journeys.

“World War II is vast, and there is so much that happened. It is impossible to include everything. You have to pick and choose things that would potentially affect the characters’ journeys, and that is why it has been used as a backdrop.”

Nitesh Tiwari added, “Hitler is also a part of it, and you cannot exclude him from a story set during World War II.”

The program will also feature sister programs produced by Italian and Indian crews and shot in those countries. Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will both appear in the Indian television series, which will be directed by Raj and DK.

Priyanka continued, “Seeing the success of, you know, subtitled work in English language areas was really amazing to me as someone who worked for a very long time in a non-English medium. But I believe that this show’s goal, which attracted me to it at first, is similar to the sociological experiment it purports to be. If, for example, the English-language flagship show is accompanied by Italian and Indian shows, the characters and plotlines may, you know, overlap and mix into one another.

Will that need a territory of people to watch another language, she asked. Similarly, are the spectators of the Italian program going to want to see the Hindi language show, when they have no relation in language? Yet, I find the mingling of cultures and the way entertainment today transcends boundaries and languages to be quite thrilling and fascinating. It’s all about telling stories. And as a partner, Amazon excels at that. And Jen’s ambition to work with AGBO is something that has never been seen before, in my opinion. It’s really cool.
