Jalil Jilani to attend ECO Council of Ministers meeting in Azerbaijan

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani will undertake an official visit to Azerbaijan to attend the 27th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) to be held from October 9-10 2023 in Susha, Azerbaijan.

During his visit, the foreign minister will address the Council of Ministers (COM) and hold bilateral meetings with participating ministers of member states and other dignitaries on the sidelines of the event.

As the policy-making forum of the ECO, the Council of Ministers approves the decisions and annual work plan of the Organization.

At the 27th COM, the member states will discuss the promotion of sustainable economic development of the ECO region through trade and economic cooperation and mutual assistance in social, cultural, technical and scientific fields.

Following the massive earthquake that slammed the country’s south on Monday morning, Azerbaijan will send a search and rescue team of 370 personnel as well as humanitarian material to Turkey, according to Turkey’s state-run news agency.

A plane carrying aid, including tents and medical supplies, will depart for Turkey “in a short time,” sources said.

The Netherlands has stated that it will deploy a search and rescue team to Turkey after the country’s disaster agency requested assistance from the international community.

Syeda Mehreen Shah is a Pakistani actress and model, who has leveled new allegations of sexual harassment against Indian producer Ehsan Zaidi and a few of his staff.

Shah described her ordeal in a video clip, claiming that while working on a production in Baku, Azerbaijan, she was subjected to harassment.

Shah made a video message in which she described her terrible experience working with the Indian director and his crew and stated that she wished to warn the other performers.

In the videotape, Mehreen identified Indian producers Raj Gupta and Ehsan Zaidi as the harassers who began acting out when she refused to accede to their filthy requests.

She went on to claim that she had met Ehsan Zaidi through a recommendation and that this was her first time working with him.

The star added that she was denied meals because she refused their demands and was accused of dating a staff member who assisted her during her illness.

Shah said that in addition to crew personnel, sex prostitutes were invited to their hotel party.
