PM Shehbaz to hold bilateral meeting with Azerbaijan President today

BAKU: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to hold a bilateral meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today besides addressing the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum to strengthen trade and investment ties.

The prime minister, who is on a two-day visit to Azerbaijan, will travel to the Zagulba Presidential Palace where he will be given a guard of honor.

He will hold a bilateral meeting with President Ilham Aliyev followed by a delegation-level talks to discuss areas of mutual interest and cooperation.

Both leaders will also witness a ceremony to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz will pay tribute at the Victory Monument dedicated to the heroes and martyrs of the 44-day Nagorno-Karabakh war.

Later in the day, he will address the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum to boost trade and investment relationship between the two countries.

CJCSC calls for enhancing military cooperation with Azerbaijan

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan called on President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and military-civil leadership.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides appreciated deep and historic relations between the two countries and discussed matters of mutual interest including evolving security dynamics of the region and enhancement of existing defence ties in multiple domains.

The CJCSC highlighted the importance of enhanced military cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan and reaffirmed collective commitment towards peace and stability.

Azerbaijani leadership appreciated the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged the commonality of views to expand existing cooperation by exploring multiple avenues to forge deeper ties with Pakistan.
