In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Mika reflected on the backlash and compared it to his own past experiences with public scrutiny.

“I have no personal issues with Samay Raina; he is a sweet guy. A lot of people have told me he is my huge fan and a great musician too. Ranveer is also very nice. He is a gracious and poised human being, but his biggest mistake was that he shouldn’t have gone on the show,” Mika said.

He explained that their audiences differ, adding, “Ranveer’s show is very decent and respectful. Samay’s show has a different audience. If he had not gone there, this issue wouldn’t have happened.”

Recalling his own struggles with backlash, Mika revealed, “I had received 500 legal notices for some lyrics in the song Ganpat. Even during Gandi Baat, I got almost 1,000 legal notices.” Despite this, he urged leniency for Samay and Ranveer, stating, “They are kids who became successful, so I urge people to forgive them.”

NEPRA announces reduction in electricity prices for consumers

Consumers likely to get 50 paisa per unit discount: NEPRA

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in electricity prices for consumers across the country under the monthly fuel charge adjustment (FCA).

According to the official notification, the national average Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) has been reduced by Rs.2.1240 per unit, bringing the actual fuel cost to Rs.10.8860 per kWh from the earlier reference rate of Rs.13.0100 per kWh.

The electricity rates for Karachi consumers have been reduced by Rs3 per unit, while rates for consumers in other parts of the country have been lowered by Rs2.12 per unit, said a notification.

NEPRA issued separate notifications for the adjustments, stating that consumers will receive the relief in their March electricity bills.

The reduction for K-Electric consumers is based on the December 2024 monthly adjustment, while the decrease for other consumers nationwide is applied under the January 2025 adjustment.

This FCA reduction applies to most categories, except for lifeline consumers, protected consumers, electric vehicle charging stations (EVCS), and prepaid customers.

The federal government last month announced reinstating benefits of fuel cost adjustments for the electricity consumers using up to 300 units and agricultural tube-wells, aiming to ease financial burden on the households and farmers.

The benefit of reduced fuel adjustment charges was initially stopped for consumers using up to 300 units in June 2015, according to a spokesperson of the Power Division.

NEPRA has directed Ex-WAPDA Distribution Companies (XWDISCOs) to ensure compliance with court orders while implementing the new rates.

Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit labelled as ‘feud between PR firms’ by court

Blake Lively
  • The legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni took a new turn.
  • Federal judge characterized the case as a “feud between PR firms.”
  • Lively had filed a lawsuit against Baldoni for sexual harassment.

The legal dispute between It Ends With Us co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni took a new turn as a federal judge characterized the case as a “feud between PR firms.” On Thursday, March 6, Judge Lewis J. Liman set the parameters for a protective order hearing regarding the extent of public disclosure in the high-profile case.

During the virtual session, Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, pushed for a protective order to prevent the disclosure of private texts between the actress and her celebrity friends, citing confidentiality concerns.

“There is a significant chance of irreparable harm if marginal conversations with high-profile individuals with no relevance to the case were to fall into the wrong hands,” attorney Meryl Governski stated, according to Page Six. She also accused the opposing side of leveraging confidential materials for PR advantage.

Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, argued that his client has the right to defend himself without damaging Lively’s reputation. “Because there are powerful people in the industry… somehow there is a different law that applies to them,” Freedman remarked, referencing the alleged PR influence at play.

Lively had filed a lawsuit against Baldoni for sexual harassment and a smear campaign, while Baldoni has countersued for $400 million, citing defamation and extortion. The trial is set for March 9, 2026.

Pakistan calls for decisive steps to resolve Yemen crises

Pakistan

UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has underscored the need for reinvigorating political dialogue in Yemen and to take “decisive steps” to address the multidimensional crisis the impoverished Arab country is facing in a bid to usher in peace and stability in the region.

“The international community must act with urgency to prevent further deterioration of the crisis and to pave the way for a future of stability and hope for Yemen,” Ambassador Munir Akram, permanent representative of Pakistan to the UN, told the UN Security Council.

“We reaffirm our full support for the UN-led peace process and stress the need for an inclusive, comprehensive and sustainable resolution of the conflict,” he said in a debate on the situation in Yemen.

In this regard, regional initiatives, particularly those led by Saudi Arabia and Oman, remain critical in advancing these negotiations, the Pakistani envoy added.

The crisis in Yemen, which worsened in 2014 after Houthi rebels (known officially as Ansar-Allah) seized the capital, Sanaa, has been marked by complex political and military tensions. More than 17 million people – half the country’s population – remain dependent on humanitarian assistance and protection.

Describing the humanitarian situation in Yemen as “tragic”, Ambassador Akram, said, “As we observe the holy month of Ramzan, millions in Yemen continue to endure extreme hardship.”

Currently, he said, 19.5 million people require urgent humanitarian assistance, including 17.1 million facing acute food insecurity. 4.5 million individuals are internally displaced, and 12 million children lack access to basic necessities such as food, water, shelter and healthcare.

“In this situation,” the Pakistani envoy regretted “deeply” the sudden cutoff of funding for humanitarian operation in Yemen, and called for filling the gap by the international community and donor countries, hoping they would step up their contributions to the 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan for Yemen .

Pakistan, he said, denounced the Houthi attacks on commercial and merchant vessels, but noted from a UN report that no new incidents of attacks on shipping have been recorded in the past month. This development, he pointed out, coincided with the ceasefire in Gaza.

Ben Affleck reportedly wants to cast his ex-wife Jennifer Garner in new film

Ben Affleck
  • Ben Affleck is reportedly looking to cast his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
  • Ben has so many ideas popping in his head as per a source.
  • Affleck and Garner previously co-starred in Pearl Harbor and Daredevil.

Ben Affleck, the Oscar-winning actor and producer behind Artists Equity, is reportedly looking to cast his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, in an upcoming film. Sources told DailyMail.com that the former couple has grown “closer” in recent months, leading Affleck to consider a professional collaboration with Garner.

A source revealed, “Ben has so many ideas popping in his head, he feels like he knows just what to do with her.” The insider added, “He feels that her true talents have not been brought to light and he is just the producer who can find her the right material. She can do both drama and comedy, so he feels there are a lot of opportunities for her skills.”

Affleck and Garner previously co-starred in Pearl Harbor (2001) and Daredevil (2003), and now they may reunite on screen. This follows Affleck’s recent projects with his now-ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, including Unstoppable and Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Despite their growing bond, DailyMail.com reports that Garner is “deathly afraid of falling back in love” with Affleck due to lingering “trust issues” after his past infidelity. “She loves Ben but is worried that he will crush her all over again,” the source said. “She doesn’t want to heal another broken heart because it is just too much drama, plus she does not want their kids to see round two of their mom in a bad place with their dad.”
