During a candid interview, she expressed disappointment over what she sees as a decline in his writing quality and criticized his behavior towards her.

“People used to be proud of his dialogues. And now today, the dialogues he writes are coming back to haunt him. It is as if he has forgotten how to write,” Resham lamented, adding that his past reputation has faded due to a lack of originality. “Watch how Allah takes things away from people! He had many fans, and I used to be one of them. I am not anymore.”

Resham further accused KRQ of plagiarizing Bollywood films. “When I saw him recently, all I could see is that he copies films from India. No one remembers any of the dialogues from his works anymore,” she claimed.

Recalling an unpleasant encounter at an industry gathering hosted by Humayun Saeed, Resham described KRQ’s rude behavior. “I said salam to him, and he just shouted at me and said, ‘Don’t say salam to me! Stay away!'” she revealed.

While KRQ remains a significant figure in Pakistani entertainment, his controversial reputation continues to grow. With Resham’s latest remarks, their professional and personal discord appears irreparable.

The Sean Baker-directed film also won Best Actress for its 25-year-old lead, Mikey Madison, as well as Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Editing.

In his acceptance speech, Baker urged filmmakers to continue creating for the big screen, warning against the decline of theatrical experiences. “In a time in which the world can feel very divided, this is more important than ever,” he said. “This is my battle cry.”

The Oscar for Best International Film went to Brazil’s I’m Still Here, while No Other Land, a documentary highlighting Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation, won Best Documentary.

Co-director Yuval Abraham called out Israel’s actions in Gaza, stating, “We made this film as Palestinians and Israelis because, together, our voices are stronger.” Meanwhile, Palestinian filmmaker Basel Adra urged global action, saying, “Take serious actions to stop the injustice.”
