RAWALPINDI: Security forces on Saturday killed 15 terrorists (khwarij) while four Pakistan Army officials were also martyred in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence based operation was conducted by the Security Forces in general area Hathala, Dera Ismail Khan District, on reported presence of terrorists (khwarij).

During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists (Khwarij) location and resultantly, nine terrorists (khwarij) including ring leaders HVT Farman @Saqib, Kharji Amanullah @Toori, Kharji Saeed @Liaqat and Kharji Bilal were sent to hell.

The killed terrorists (khwarij) were involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area and were highly wanted by the Law Enforcement Agencies.

In another operation conducted in general area Miran Shah, North Waziristan District, Six terrorists (khwarij) were effectively neutralized by the security forces.

However, during intense fire exchange, 21-years old Lieutenant Muhammad Hassaan Arshaf resident of District Lahore leading his troops from front, fought gallantly and embraced Shahadat along with his three men.

The three soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice include 39-years old Naib Subedar Muhammad Bilal resident of District Dera Ismail khan, 27-years old Sepoy Farhat Ullah resident of District Lakki Marwat and 29-years old Sepoy Himat Khan resident of District Mohmand.

CPJ Justice Yahya Afridi visits SOS village Peshawar

ISLAMABAD: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CPJ), Justice Yahya Afridi, visited SOS village in Hayatabad Peshawar, an institution which his late father Umer Khan Afridi patronized all his life.

The Chief Justice was accompanied by his wife.

The CJP was briefed by the Director of the Village  Kokab Batool Qureshi.

The SOS Peshawar is a Charity Organization funded through private donations. It currently houses around 121 children from various age groups up to 25-26 years.

The SOS Peshawar provides boarding facilities to orphans and abandoned children. In addition to providing quality education as well as technical skills, it also arranges marriages of children.

The Chief Justice and the madam interacted with the kids and took a keen interest in their routine activities.

They both shared lunch with the kids and encouraged them in their curricular and extra-curricular activities. He mentored them to excel in their studies to become useful for themselves as well as for society.

He also lauded the role of the Director of the SOS and appreciated her keen interest in maintaining discipline on the campus as well as high standards of education and upkeep of the institution.

16 devotees die in two separate accidents in Sindh

KARACHI: As many as 16 devotees were killed and several other injured in to separate accidents in Shaheed Benazirabad and Khairpur.

According to police, a devotees van collided with trailer near Fatuhal Zardari in Shaheed Benazirabad, killing six people and injuring 10 others.

Police said the injured were shifted to the hospital, visitors were coming to annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar

Meanwhile, a coach carrying devotees near Ranipur on the national highway was overturned, killing 10 people and injuring 30.

Rescue sources said that the condition of seven people injured in the accident was critical, the passenger coach of the accident was going from Punjab to Sehwan Sharif.

Sindh cabinet approves 5-years relaxation for government job

KARACHI: The Sindh government has increased the upper age limit for new recruits in government sector.

A meeting of the provincial cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah was held in which ministers, advisers and secretaries attended.

Sources said that the Sindh cabinet approved the Universities and Board Amendment Bill 2025.

Earlier, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori objected to the bill and sent it back to the Assembly, while the governor had also objected to the appointment of heads in universities and boards.

In addition, the Sindh cabinet approved a 5-year relaxation for government jobs.

According to sources, there was a 15 -year relaxation at the first age for government employment which was abolished.

Federal Govt withdraws major FBR powers on IMF demand

ISLAMABAD: The federal government withdraws important powers from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on the demand of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The Federal Cabinet has set up a tax policy office in the Finance Ministry, which has also been issued a notification.

According to the notification, Ministry of Finance has established a Tax Policy Office, separating tax policy formulation from tax collection. The FBR will now be limited to tax collection only and policy-making will fall under the Ministry of Finance.

According to the notification, the tax policy office will directly report to Federal Minister Finance and Revenue. The tax policy office will work to create a government reform agenda, the tax policy office will analyze tax policies and suggestions.

The notification states that tax policies and suggestions will be analyzed through data modeling, revenue, economic forecasting.

According to sources, this was the long -standing demand of the International Monetary Fund(IMF) and the IMF was assured to keep the tax policy making and recovery process independent.

In order to reduce tax fraud, the implementation of the flaws will be focused on the implementation of the tax.
