A strong batting display, followed by captain Shadab Khan’s brilliant bowling, led Pakistan Shaheens to a commanding 144-run victory against Afghanistan in the first ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 warm-up match at Gaddafi Stadium on Friday.
Batting first, Pakistan Shaheens set a challenging total of 314/8 in 50 overs. Hussain Talat top-scored with 70 runs, while Mohsin Riaz (61) and Muhammad Irfan Khan (57) made valuable contributions.
In response, Afghanistan collapsed for just 170 runs in 38.4 overs. Shadab Khan was the standout performer with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 29 runs, ensuring a comfortable victory for his side.
