Wisconsin man
  • A Wisconsin man resurfaced to confess that he faked his death.
  • Ryan Borgwardt had disappeared on August 12.
  • Local authorities initially believed he had drowned.

A Wisconsin man, Ryan Borgwardt, who had been missing since August after a kayaking trip on Green Lake, recently resurfaced to confess that he faked his death and relocated to Eastern Europe.

Borgwardt, a 44-year-old husband and father of three, disappeared on August 12, sparking an intense search after his capsized kayak was found. Local authorities initially believed he had drowned, with additional clues such as his fishing rod and tacklebox being discovered. However, an investigation revealed that Borgwardt had crossed into Canada shortly after his disappearance, leading authorities to uncover his elaborate plan.

Green Lake County Sheriff Mark Podoll confirmed in a press conference, “Great news: We know that he’s alive and well. The bad news is, we do not know where, exactly, Ryan is and he has not yet decided to return home.” Borgwardt later admitted to the authorities that he had meticulously planned his disappearance for months. He used a bike to escape to Madison, took a bus to Detroit, and eventually crossed into Canada before flying to Europe using a new passport.

Borgwardt also confessed to taking out a $375,000 life insurance policy and moving money into a foreign account. “He just had personal matters going on and he thought this was the right thing to do,” Sheriff Podoll explained, noting that Borgwardt had not yet provided a full explanation for abandoning his family.

While expressing regret, Borgwardt acknowledged the pain he caused his family and the extensive resources spent on the search. Podoll added, “Christmas is coming, and what better gift he could give his kids to be there for Christmas with them.”

Varun’s LinkedIn profile quickly garnered attention, amassing over 20,000 followers in a matter of days. His bio described him as a “passionate actor with 300-crore megahits,” and highlighted his appreciation for hard work and teamwork. He expressed enthusiasm about connecting with professionals beyond the film industry.

However, one line in his bio, referencing his alleged “300-crore hits,” became a target for criticism. Many netizens mocked the claim, questioning which of his films had achieved such box-office milestones. The trolling extended to comments about his involvement in content-driven cinema.

Although Varun had expressed excitement about exploring the platform, the wave of negativity seemingly prompted him to take down the profile. In a conversation with Mashable India, Arjun shared, “There was absolute disdain and hatred against Alia on social media when she signed 2 States. Despite initial doubts, Alia silenced critics with her performance. Arjun revealed, “There were also other big names that were considered exciting and visually relevant for the role. Jacqueline Fernandez’s lawyer argues she was unaware of Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s crimes

Jacqueline Fernandez
  • The legal battle of Jacqueline Fernandez has not come to an end yet.
  • Her counsel presented arguments before the Delhi High Court.
  • The charges stem from her association with Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez’s legal battle continues as her lawyer presented arguments before the Delhi High Court on Tuesday, challenging the money laundering charges against her. The charges stem from her alleged association with Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is accused of extortion.

Senior advocate of Jacqueline Fernandez argued that under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), only a person who “derives economic advantage out of a scheduled offence can be prosecuted for money laundering.” He stated, “Jacqueline Fernandez was not part of any criminal activity for economic advantage; therefore, she can’t be prosecuted for money laundering.”

The defense emphasized that knowledge of criminal activity is critical to proving involvement. “Knowledge is necessary to show involvement in criminal activity,” the senior advocate argued, asserting that Jacqueline had no awareness of Sukesh’s alleged crimes or that the gifts she received were from money extorted from Aditi Singh.

The advocate referred to the Supreme Court’s ruling in Vijay Madanlal Chaudhary to argue that not all attached properties need to be proceeds of crime. Additionally, the defense pointed out that Jacqueline is a witness in the extortion case under MCOCA, stating, “She can’t be made accused of money laundering as she is not part of the crime syndicate and didn’t derive economic advantage out of that.”

Jacqueline has challenged the Enforcement Directorate’s charges, claiming she was not complicit in Sukesh’s criminal activities. The court will continue to hear arguments in the coming days.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie’s Chateau Miraval case takes new turn

Brad Pitt
  • Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s French winery case took a new turn.
  • A new decision by the judge has shifted the focus to Jolie’s favor.
  • Judge Lia Martin has reportedly ordered Pitt to produce evidence.

The legal battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, has taken another contentious turn.

Just a week after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled the case would proceed to trial, a new decision on November 25 has shifted the focus in Jolie’s favor.

Judge Lia Martin has reportedly ordered Pitt to “produce documents and communications” related to alleged domestic violence against Jolie and their children. Jolie’s attorney, Paul Murphy, expressed relief over the ruling, stating, “The crucial evidence concerning abuse, lies to authorities, and years of cover-up will now be a central focus on the Chateau Miraval case moving forward.” He accused Pitt of compelling Jolie to sign a nondisclosure agreement to silence her claims of abuse in exchange for selling her winery shares.

While Jolie had previously dropped her lawsuit against the Department of Justice and the FBI regarding the 2016 plane incident, her lawyer reiterated that “Brad’s actions (that) harmed Angelina and their children” remain relevant to the ongoing dispute. Murphy emphasized, “Mr. Pitt should focus on healing their family, not pursuing lawsuits,” adding that Jolie “never wanted any of this.”

A source close to Pitt downplayed the ruling, calling it “mostly irrelevant” and stating that the actor has “provided so much information already.” However, with Jolie determined to “defend herself in court,” this legal battle seems far from over.

Drake threatens legal action over Kendrick Lamar’s diss track ‘Not Like Us’

Not Like Us
  • The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has reached new heights.
  • Drake has decided to take legal steps against major music companies.
  • Lamar targeted Drake with lyrics in his new song, Not Like Us.

The feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has reached new heights, with Drake taking legal steps against major music companies over Lamar’s controversial diss track, Not Like Us.

Released this year, the record-breaking track includes incendiary lyrics suggesting Drake is a sex offender, with lines such as, “Drake, I hear you like ’em young,” and references to a “certified paedophile” and a “predator.”

On Monday, Drake, under his legal name Aubrey Drake Graham, filed pre-lawsuit petitions in Bexar County District Court, Texas, and New York Supreme Court. He accused Universal Music Group (UMG) and iHeartMedia of orchestrating a manipulative campaign to boost Not Like Us at his expense.

Drake alleged UMG used bots and pay-to-play agreements to saturate streaming platforms like Spotify. “Streaming and licensing is a zero-sum game,” the filing stated. “Every time a song ‘breaks through,’ it means another artist does not. UMG’s choice to saturate the music market with Not Like Us comes at the expense of its other artists, like Drake.”

UMG, which represents Lamar through Interscope Records, dismissed the claims. “The suggestion that UMG would do anything to undermine any of its artists is offensive and untrue,” the company said.

The feud traces back to Lamar’s 2013 track that called out Drake, with lines like, “I got love for you all, but I’m trying to murder you.” What began as bravado has spiraled into a full-blown dispute over creative and professional rivalry.
