Tim Burton Reacts To Disney Characters Reimagined by AI In His Style

Tim Burton

Famous director Tim Burton recently expressed his views on the increasing popularity of Artificial Intelligence and its potential threat to the field of animation.

In a recent interview with The Independent, Burton was asked about a Buzzfeed article from July that utilized AI to reimagine Disney characters under his direction. He reacted enthusiastically, saying, “They had AI do my versions of Disney characters! I can’t describe the feeling it gives you. It reminded me of when other cultures say, ‘Don’t take my picture because it is taking away your soul.’”

The Buzzfeed piece featured beloved Disney characters from films like Frozen, The Lion King, Cinderella, Moana, Beauty and the Beast, and Hercules, among others, with a distinct resemblance to the animation style of Burton’s well-known 2005 movie, Corpse Bride.

While Burton acknowledged that some of the AI-generated versions were “very good,” he admitted that he didn’t particularly enjoy seeing his unique artistic style replicated in this manner.

He explained, “What it does is it sucks something from you. It takes something from your soul or psyche; that is very disturbing, especially if it has to do with you. It’s like a robot taking your humanity, your soul.”

Burton referred to his artistic work, including his drawings and writings across various mediums, as “a therapeutic thing” and a means of making sense of the world.

The utilization of AI in the Hollywood industry has sparked debates, with writers and actors seeking negotiations with major corporations to ensure their job security. AI has become a central point of contention in these discussions.

Parineeti Chopra became engaged to political leader Raghav Chadha earlier this year in a lovely ceremony. There has been ongoing speculation about their wedding date and location, with reports suggesting a September date and a venue in Rajasthan. Although an official announcement is still pending, it appears that Akshay Kumar, Parineeti’s co-star in her upcoming film “Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue,” might have dropped hints about her upcoming marriage.

Akshay Kumar celebrated his 56th birthday on September 9, and his co-star Parineeti Chopra, who has previously worked with him in the film “Kesari” and will be appearing alongside him in the upcoming film, extended her birthday wishes via an Instagram story. She shared a behind-the-scenes picture of them from their forthcoming survival thriller and wrote, “Happy birthday to the OG entertainer @akshaykumar! In response to these well-wishes, Akshay expressed his gratitude to Parineeti and eagerly anticipated her upcoming “Jalsa,” using a playful emoji to convey his excitement. However, the legitimacy of this invitation remains unconfirmed until the couple makes an official statement regarding their wedding plans.

The film “Mission Raniganj” draws inspiration from the real-life experiences of mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, renowned for his heroic efforts in rescuing trapped miners in the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989. Alongside the lead pair of Akshay and Parineeti, the movie boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Kumud Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and Varun Badola, among others. Reflecting on Asha Bhosle’s recent milestone, Helen, during an interview, fondly recalled their collaborative journey in the entertainment world. She affectionately referred to the iconic singer as the “precious navaratan” (precious gem) of Bollywood. The veteran actress expressed, “We have cherished a warm friendship over the years. She is an invaluable gem in the Hindi film industry. Her enduring contributions and timeless voice will forever be etched in our memories. Ashaji’s versatility allowed her to adjust her voice to complement my songs. We share a significant legacy of over 270 songs performed together. It was an absolute delight to dance to each of her renditions, and she played a pivotal role in their success.”

Helen Ji went on to share a charming anecdote, saying, “I can’t forget the compliment she once paid me, saying, ‘Helenji, if I were a man, I would marry you.’ I distinctly recall visiting the recording studio and listening to Ashaji’s rendition of ‘Piya Tu Ab To Aaja’ from ‘Caravan,’ and it sounded so marvelous that I immediately presented her with the largest box of chocolates. ‘O Haseena Zulfo Wali’ from ‘Teesri Manzil’ was such an electrifying and foot-tapping number that I instantly fell in love with it. Sunny Deol Recalls His Feud With Shah Rukh Khan, Reflects On Bond With Salman Khan

Sunny Deol

Sunny Deol has been in the limelight due to the immense success of his recent release, Gadar 2, co-starring Ameesha Patel. The film, directed by Anil Sharma, shattered box office records, becoming the second-highest-grossing film after “Pathaan.” Amidst this success, the longstanding feud between Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan, stemming from their fallout on the sets of Yash Chopra’s 1993 film “Darr,” once again became a topic of discussion.

During an appearance on Rajat Sharma’s show “Aap Ki Adalat,” Sunny Deol discussed the feud with his “Darr” co-star Shah Rukh Khan and his bond with Salman Khan. Regarding the rift with King Khan, Sunny Deol stated, “Those were different times when it happened. I believe people forget what happened back then. One understands such things should not have happened. It was ‘bachpana’ (childish), definitely. After that, Shah Rukh and I met several times and spoke to each other about many things. We also talked about some movies. This time, he was watching my film with his entire family. And he called me up. So everything is fine now.”

Sunny Deol also highlighted his warm relationship with Salman Khan, saying, “Salman and I have a different equation. Obviously, I’m senior to him. When I used to work, he used to come on the set… Always… He had a good bond with Papa (Dharmendra)… And so that give-and-take, which is with very few people, was there. Obviously, it is not that they are my colleagues. I have my bonds with everyone. I am what I am, you may like it or may not like it.”

It’s worth noting that Salman Khan praised “Gadar 2” on social media, writing, “Dhai kilo ka haath equals chalis cr ki opening. Sunny paaji is killing it. Congrats to the entire team of Gadar 2.”

Reports suggest that SRK and Sunny Deol didn’t speak for 16 years after their disagreement over the climax of “Darr.” Sunny had previously mentioned that he had a heated discussion with director Yash Chopra about the film’s ending and even tore his pants in anger. He expressed his concern with “Darr” glorifying the villain character played by SRK, a point he was unaware of.

However, Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan have evidently reconciled, with Sunny inviting SRK to the success party of “Gadar 2” and posing together for photos, signifying their resolution to move past their differences and maintain a friendly relationship. Currently, Shah Rukh Khan is basking in the massive success of his recent release, “Jawan,” directed by Atlee, while Sunny Deol is enjoying the success of Anil Sharma’s “Gadar 2.”

Here’s Why Madhuri Dixit Was Fired From A Film

Madhuri Dixit

Even the legendary Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit had to confront sexist demands from filmmakers during her storied career. Director Tinnu Anand, who worked with Madhuri in “Shanakht” (1989), recently disclosed how she was fired from a film after refusing to perform a scene that required her to remove her blouse.

Tinnu Anand recounted the incident, revealing that he had discussed the scene with Madhuri before shooting and she initially agreed to it. The scene involved Amitabh Bachchan’s character being captured by villains, with Madhuri’s character coming forward and saying, “Why are you attacking a man in chains when a woman is in front of you?”

“I had explained the entire sequence to Madhuri Dixit,” recalled the director. “I told her that she would have to remove her blouse, and for the first time, we would see her in her bra. I didn’t want to hide anything behind a haystack or anything because you are offering yourself to help a man who is trying to help you. So it is a very important situation, and I wanted to shoot it on the first day. She agreed.”

However, on the first day of shooting, Madhuri Dixit changed her mind and expressed reservations about the scene. Tinnu Anand, determined to maintain the scene’s integrity, informed her that it had to be done. Madhuri initially refused, leading the director to declare that the shoot would be canceled.

Following this, Madhuri’s secretary contacted Anand and assured him that the actress was willing to perform the scene. She returned five days later and completed it. However, this incident marked the end of their collaboration, as they didn’t work together on any subsequent films.
