During an exclusive interview with India Today, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya shed light on the behind-the-scenes of the song “Zinda Banda” from the Atlee-directed film “Jawan.” She described the set as massive and the energy as electric. Recalling her first day on set, she mentioned being surrounded by 1000 women, all donning the same attire. The entrance of Priyamani and Shah Rukh Khan garnered excitement and awe from everyone present. The chaotic yet dynamic atmosphere added to the song’s pulsating energy.

Furthermore, Sanjeeta revealed an interesting anecdote about the iconic SRK pose in the song. As the team learned the choreography and prepared for the performance, Shah Rukh Khan suggested incorporating his signature open-arm gesture into the routine. This idea was met with unanimous enthusiasm from the entire team, including the choreographer Atlee. Sanjeeta explained that during the iconic moment when SRK strikes his signature pose, all the performers join him, creating a truly memorable scene.

Shifting focus to Shah Rukh Khan’s recent and upcoming ventures, he achieved immense success with his last film “Pathaan,” starring alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Amidst the growing excitement for “Jawan,” there’s a piece of exciting news that’s sure to thrill fans of both King Khan and Deepika Padukone.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the stars of “Chennai Express,” celebrated the film’s 10th anniversary on Tuesday. Simultaneously, the countdown began for the release of “Jawan” on August 8. To commemorate these two significant milestones—the decade-long success of “Chennai Express” and the one-month countdown to “Jawan’s” release—SRK Universe, a popular fan club dedicated to Shah Rukh Khan, launched an innovative promotional campaign.

In honor of “Chennai Express” reaching its 10-year mark on August 8, the esteemed fan club unveiled plans for special screenings of the 2013 blockbuster comedy starring SRK and Deepika. This re-release event took place on Wednesday, August 9, across more than 52 cities. The fan club shared the movie’s poster on Instagram and revealed the list of cities where the screenings would occur. Their announcement read, “BREAKING: As we await #Jawan, we are all set to celebrate #10YearsOfChennaiExpress. On its 10th anniversary, we have organized free screenings of #ChennaiExpress on 9th August 2023 in over 50 cities in India for all the fans!!!”

Interestingly, a unique connection between “Chennai Express” and “Jawan” emerged through the first song, “Zinda Banda.” This track has brought back the lungi trend, with over 1000 background dancers donning lungis in the extravagant scenes of “Jawan.” Moreover, the song also reunites Shah Rukh Khan with Priyamani, who had previously danced alongside him in the lively track “1234 Get On The Dance Floor” from “Chennai Express.”

This isn’t the first instance of the fan club organizing a screening for an SRK film. Last year, they hosted a screening of one of Shah Rukh Khan’s biggest blockbusters, “Om Shanti Om,” commemorating the film’s 15th anniversary, two months before the release of his comeback movie, “Pathaan.”

Directed by Rohit Shetty, “Chennai Express” featured Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in leading roles. The film’s ensemble cast included Nikitin Dheer, Sathyaraj, Kamini Kaushal, Lekh Tandon, Mukesh Tiwari, and Yogi Babu, among others. The film revolves around Susie Salmon (Saoirse Ronan), a young girl killed by a neighbour, and her journey in the afterlife. Gosling was initially set to play Susie’s father, Jack, who tirelessly searches for her. To prepare for the role, Gosling gained 60 pounds, envisioning Jack as a larger man. However, days before filming was to begin, he was removed from the project. The reason was a difference in the vision of Jack’s appearance between Gosling and Jackson. Jackson believed Jack should appear differently from what Gosling imagined.

According to Gosling, the lack of effective communication during pre-production and Jackson’s busy schedule led to misunderstandings. Gosling’s version of events indicates that his weight gain led to his removal from the role. However, Fran Walsh, Jackson’s wife and collaborator, had a different perspective. She noted that Gosling had expressed doubts about the role’s suitability for him due to age, and they had discussed ageing him up. Ultimately, they realized Gosling wasn’t the best fit for the role and decided to cast Mark Wahlberg instead.

While losing a role is a common occurrence in the industry, Gosling’s career continued to flourish after The Lovely Bones incident. Barbie’s success reaffirms his versatile talents beyond just his portrayal of Ken.

Universal’s latest blockbuster, “Oppenheimer,” has taken the summer box office by storm, emerging as a remarkable success. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the film has notched up an impressive array of accomplishments in just over two weeks since its theatrical release. A standout achievement is that “Oppenheimer” now holds the title of the highest-grossing World War II movie ever.

Current estimates reveal that “Oppenheimer” has amassed a staggering $559 million in global box office revenue. This surpasses the previous record-holder, the 2017 film “Dunkirk,” also directed by Nolan, which recounted the story of the Dunkirk Evacuation and garnered $527 million worldwide. Remarkably, “Oppenheimer” has managed to dethrone its predecessor, though both films boast Cillian Murphy as a cast member.

The latest triumph for “Oppenheimer” pushes the iconic 1998 Steven Spielberg film “Saving Private Ryan” into third place on the World War II film list, having accumulated $482 million. However, this figure is unadjusted for inflation. If inflation were factored in, “Saving Private Ryan,” which also features “Oppenheimer” star Matt Damon, would retain the top spot.

While “Oppenheimer” may not have outpaced the phenomenon of Barbie in terms of box office figures, generating over $1 billion in the same timeframe, it has certainly secured its position in the annals of war film history. Filmed using IMAX cameras, the movie’s impressive presentation on the expansive IMAX screen has propelled it to become one of the most successful IMAX films in recent memory. Its IMAX earnings have exceeded $114 million, prompting an extended run in 70mm IMAX on the limited 30 screens worldwide that support this format.

The box office success of “Oppenheimer” is unsurprising given the anticipation surrounding it due to its star-studded ensemble and the directorial prowess of Nolan. The plot follows J. Robert Oppenheimer’s life, portrayed by Murphy, as he leads the Manhattan Project during WWII to create the first atomic bomb. Working alongside a determined team of scientists and Leslie Groves, played by Damon, Oppenheimer strives to test the bomb for use against Japan to bring an end to the war.

Beyond Murphy and Damon, the film boasts an impressive cast including Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Emily Blunt, Jason Clarke, Kenneth Branagh, Rami Malek, and more. Nolan both directed the film and penned the screenplay, demonstrating his characteristic meticulous attention to detail. The screenplay’s intricacies were lauded by Murphy, describing it as “one of the best screenplays I’ve ever read.” Due to high demand, the screenplay was made available for purchase online and has been selling out rapidly.

However, the initial surgeries didn’t provide the relief she sought, as she still felt dissatisfied with her appearance. This dissatisfaction led her to undergo another procedure, which unfortunately resulted in her experiencing a seizure. Describing the aftermath of the seizure, she said, “I remember waking up and seeing everything, and then I just started to have this dry mouth and couldn’t breathe and went back under.” Despite the passage of time, not fully comprehending the cause of the seizure still unsettles her.

Reflecting on her journey, Raven-Symoné spoke about her transformation in a 2021 interview. She shared that, with the support and advice of her wife, she adopted a zero-sugar diet that aided her in losing 40 pounds. Raven emphasized the role her wife played in this change, stating, “With her help and guidance and love and fantastic cooking skills, she helped me kick sugar.” She described sugar as an addictive substance and acknowledged that she had been addicted to it in various forms, but with her wife’s encouragement, she successfully eliminated it from her system.
