  • He allegedly entered the grounds of Windsor Castle armed with a crossbow and declared his intention to kill the monarch.
  • The unemployed former supermarket employee is accused of threatening to kill and possessing an offensive weapon.

A man appeared in court after allegedly entering the grounds of Windsor Castle armed with a crossbow and declaring his intention to kill Queen Elizabeth II.

Jaswant Singh Chail, 20, of Southampton in southern England, appeared in court earlier this month after being charged with treason.

He appeared in court via video link from Broadmoor high-security psychiatric hospital, confirming his identity and location.

The prosecution told the court that Chail was detained early on Christmas Day last year on the grounds of Windsor Castle, where the monarch was staying.

Chail approached the Queen’s apartments while wearing a hood and mask and carrying a loaded crossbow with the safety catch removed, according to prosecutor Kathryn Selby.

Chail allegedly stated to a protection officer: “I am here to kill the Queen.”

Under the 180-year-old Treason Act, the most serious charge he faces is “intent… to injure the person of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, or to alarm her Majesty”.

In the most recent such case, Briton Marcus Sarjeant was sentenced to five years in prison in 1981 after admitting to firing blank shots at the monarch while she was on parade.

Chail is also accused of threatening to kill and possessing an offensive weapon.

Please do not allow the unemployed former supermarket employee to enter.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle issued a dire warning about ‘press wars.’

During an interview, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams made this claim.

He began by warning them about the potential difficulties that could arise during their return to the UK, and was quoted as saying, “They know when they appear that they are at war with the press here, it’s rather like venturing into the lion’s den now.”

“Because you’ve got the public who are not supportive and you’ve got the press who are ferociously against them – and then you’ve also got the royal family where there’s a rift.”

“We’ve had Oprah – we know how damaging that was and there have been a large number of interviews that they have given about the Royal Family, to say nothing of Harry’s upcoming memoir.”

“What has happened during this period is that their ratings have dropped phenomenally. Their popularity has plunged in Britain.”

Stocks add 240 points over positive cues

Stocks add 240 points over positive cues

KARACHI: The Pakistan bourse closed higher on Wednesday as the investors’ confidence got a boost over the likely inflows from multilateral lenders and friendly countries besides upbeat economic data on different sectors.

An analyst at Pearl Securities said that bulls remained in charge during the day in the market and gave it a boost towards the end as the market closed on a positive note.

“The market expects the status quo in the policy rate in the upcoming monetary policy committee (MPC) meeting. Pakistan sent a signed letter of intent (LOI) to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to resume the programme,” he added.

The cement sector saw a surge on the back of news regarding a tax relief of up to Rs5 billion to the property sector, he said, adding that the rupee came under pressure on the news that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has allowed the export of the dollar by the open market players.

“Going forward, we expect the market to perform well. Hence, we recommend our investors adopt the “Buy on Dip” strategy in the upcoming sessions,” he added.

The Pakistan Stock Exchange KSE-100 shares Index gained 0.55 per cent, or 240.08 points, to close at 43,676.56 points. The KSE-30 shares Index gained 0.61 per cent, or 100.80 points, to close at 16,532.20 points.

As many as 356 scrips were active of which 153 advanced, 171 declined and 32 remained unchanged.

The ready market volumes stood at 607.99 million shares, compared with the turnover of 518.04 million shares in the last trading session.

Ahsan Mehanti at Arif Habib Corp said that the stocks closed higher on the back of higher trades led by second and third tier scrips on strong valuations.

“Mid-session pressure remained on weak global crude oil prices, falling rupee and dismal data on remittances during July 2022,” he added.

However, upbeat data of large scale manufacturing (LSM) growth at 11.7 per cent, strong financial results in the oil sector and the finance minister’s hints over the IMF’s tranche due next month played a catalyst role in the bullish close, Mehanti added.

The companies which reflected the highest gains included Sanofi-Aventis up Rs50 to close at Rs1,540/share, Systems Limited up Rs21.38 to close at Rs382.82/share.

The companies which reflected the most losses included Rafhan Maize down Rs200 to close at Rs10,200/share, and Nestle Pakistan(XD) down Rs150 to close at Rs6,000/share.

Is actress Sidra Niazi PTI leader Imran Khan Niazi’s family member?

Sidra Niazi
  • Sidra Niazi is a Pakistani television actress.
  • She has appeared in Chupke Chupke, Zakham, Inam e Mohabbat, and Badzaat.
  • She fell into acting by mistake and has done a fantastic job of maintaining her position.

Sidra Niazi is a Pakistani television actress. Her notable appearances include Qayamat and Chupke Chupke, and she is currently appearing as a supporting character in Badzaat alongside Imran Ashraf and Urwa Hocane.

Niazi are a well-known and respected tribe of Pakistan. However, the first person that springs to mind when the name Niazi is mentioned is undoubtedly is the former Pakistani prime minister and PTI leader Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi. Pakistanis are aware of his tribe’s name because overzealous politicians always refer to him by it.

We now have a new Niazi in town, Sidra Niazi, who we have previously seen in Zakham, Inam e Mohabbat, and Badzaat. Sidra has a good eye on the nation’s current problems, fell into acting by mistake, and has since done a fantastic job of maintaining her position.

She admitted in an interview that she had been the subject of a lot of speculation about her relationship with Imran Khan and had finally chosen to put that to rest.

Sidra claimed that while the Niazi tribe is not very large, most members are acquainted. She is not related to Imran Khan, though her grandmother and her father’s family knew them and occasionally got together.

She went on to say that although she had attended the same wedding as Imran Khan, she had never met him in person.

Prince Harry
  • Prince Harry and Meghan could meet the Queen if she invites them over for a meeting.
  • The Queen would feel more comfortable meeting them there rather than a rushed meeting in London, he said.
  • He added that Meghan won’t like the hunting, shooting and fishing environment of the Highlands.

Prince Harry will ‘pop in for a chat with his grandmother, the Queen if she invites him over for a meeting.

Phil Dampier, a royal author, told, “Whether Harry meets the Queen will probably depend on her.”

He then suggested that Harry and Meghan go to the Scottish Highlands to see the Queen if she invites them.

He continued,  “If she tells them she wants to see them I’m sure they will pop in for a chat. I’m sure she would hope the relaxed atmosphere there (Scotland) would be more conducive to talking things through and trying to solve the problems they all face.”

Dampier then added, “Meghan won’t like the hunting, shooting and fishing environment of the Highlands but the Queen would feel much more comfortable meeting them there rather than a rushed meeting in London.”

  • Jonathan Sacerdoti: “They tend to keep a dignified silence, but also decisive and clear”.

Prince Harry memoir reveals the Royal Family’s possible reactions to the rather “public call out.”

In an interview, royal expert and commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti issued this warning.

“It’s unusual for them to respond to things that they don’t necessarily like,” He starts by explaining.

“They tend to keep a dignified silence. But we only need to look back to the explosive allegations made in the Oprah interview that there were problems of racism in the family to see how they will react publicly if they feel they must.”

“Those allegations were so potentially damaging that there was a statement put out suggesting recollections of what happened varied.”

“And Prince William spoke out to say the family is not racist. These were short and quite diplomatic responses, but also decisive and clear.”
